After watching this I trusted my instinct and bought one last week. Mine is 20yrs old with 150k and it's surprisingly quiet on rough roads. My steering isn't loose my body doesn't roll and as a non City dweller who lives off dirt roads, I found it's the best riding vehicle I've ever been in. It's very comfortable and feels like a pillow on rough roads at 50 miles an hour. It is a bit ridiculous for City people though. I pulled a semi truck and trailer off of a four-by-four only road yesterday. A Jeep showed up and turned around because he didn't knew he didn't have a prayer pulling a semi. These things are like a Jeep but for men. I get all the quirky things and the cheap gm stuff but for performance and reliability this thing is serious. By the way I'm getting 13 MPGs in the city.
Exactly!! I used to have an SUT and I'm looking at an H2 now. Basically a bigger cozier more powerful jeep. Who cares if they're obnoxious, that's half the fun. 😂

One good thing about this vehicle is that it has tons of room inside for tools or to sleep in. It also has 8 bolt hubs that will be able to handle big tires and a semi floating 14 bolt rear axle on coils with link suspension. Sturdy and decent clearance.

Despite all these "cons" i still have a crush on H2s and H1. Oh what the hell, early 2000s suburbans, escalades, yukon Denalis, navigators, excursions all hold a massive special place in my heart 😄

I loved my H1 and H2! The H2 is nothing like the H1. Completely different. Both had plus and minus. I would bet most H2 buyers never rode in a H1.

Bought two new h2 the Christmas of 05.
Best vehicle ever I no longer own them but both are looking like new and nearly 500,000 miles.

The video was funny. I am in the Army I have driven H1s for over 10 years. I have a 10 inch lifted H2. I have a lot of fun fixed most of the design flaws but all in all it's a fun driving experience.

I drove one for about a year and to be feir quite comfortable . Just like driving sitting in your house's sofa with a head window. Amazing when you drive on a highway overseeing the ocean. The gas mileage is awful but fun and comfortable overall.

I worked at a repair shop and I loved the room this thing had in it and the air vents made me think, why don't all manufacturers do this?
I sat in one at a car show & was surprised. Seeing it from outside I expected more room. We checked out an Expedition, Yukon & Armada. All had more usable actual room.
The H2 has all vital components within the frame rails and protected by plates, grid guards, and cross members. The shifter location is perfect, otherwise it would have had to go on the column. Borg Warner transfer case, Eaton lockers, factory grind bars and a bulletproof engine. I love it still.
I love mine! It's the toughest vehicle I've ever owned! 550k no major break down yet.
I have a H3 and i absolutely love it. Yes the visibility is not well but you have to understand it is still a hummer. And always get offers on it. But I do have to agree with the very cheap plastic that used.
I think convertible pt cruisers are the most embarrassing cars. They make me uncomfortable.

My Hummer H2 with a 6" Lift, Supercharger and 38" tires was the vehicle I miss the most. It was very off-road capible.
I saw an H2 that was lifted and boy did the engine sound awesome these vehicles get 500,000 miles and that is really reliable that's if you keep maintenance and of course enjoy the hefty belt Hummer because it weighs between 6500 and 8500 lb and that is a really good connection to the Earth and great traction it being so heavy and getting through a lot of rough terrain. I really like this vehicle and the reason it gets 11 miles to the gallon is because it's so heavy they're just isn't anything that much heavier than this and it's got some nice curves the way it's laid out and it just looks very intimidating and a really good machine to drive off road. Thanks for the review I might buy one of these.

I spent a few months researching the 2017 cars and trucks to decide which to buy. I knew I was going to buy something, but I had to wait for an investment check to come through so I figured why not use the time to be sure what I wanted and be happy with the purchase. HANDS DOWN the H2 RANKED LAST in every review I looked at. The warranty claims were TWO per automobile! (As compared to one in ten thousand for the Camry.) Sadly, Land Rover did really bad as well. Now when I see either of those on the road I think: “Aah, More money than common sense.”

My mom was had our 2006 h2 since 2008. She just got the whole thing revamped and honestly it was just a little rust since it’s her daily driver. She got a fresh coat of midnight purple paint and the truck looks and rides great still

I bought an H2 new in 2008. Still have it. Still runs great. Still looks good. Interior still in good shape. Everything works like it was new. Has 300k miles. Tows heavy trailers very well. Very little repair work needed. It’s actually fairly quick with the 6.2 and 6 speed trans. Mileage no worse than any other full size 4wd. Receive many compliments when it’s out in town. For whatever that’s worth.

I live in ireland and I just recently bought a 2003 H2 I've wanted on since I seen a white one in Spain in 2003,there was never many in ireland when they were new the most sold in ireland was in 2006 (when the banks were just giving money to any tom,dick or Harry) only 16 sold here that year and each costing €120,000 with the option to convert it to RHD for €15,000 but no one ever did I belive there to be only 4 or 5 H2s left in ireland,and maybe 3 H1s,I love my one and would never sell it its such an unusual vehicle here in ireland everyone loves it and us being such a little island most people here have never seen one in there life,so to me there very special 😁

I have owned my h2 since 2006 and after 12 years it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned and had basically no problems. Mine does not rattle like the one you drove and the seats are very comfortable even after a 17 hour straight drive from FL to MD. It is wide and so you can’t park in small lots. It is also tall and I took off the racks so I could fit in parking garages and my garage. The handles on the hood are what you grab to pull the hood up after you unlatch the side clamps. Honestly unless you own one and have experienced the long lasting durability, well your view is only limited to the short rental time.
The amount of play in the steering and the shaky shift knob was not as bad as this one you rented
Regarding the rim design and the tire inflation system on the H1: I don’t think it’s a bad thing. It’s a cool throwback to the original Hummer and I believe if any other car had something similar, Doug would like it and commend it. It’s not like a fake vent, intake or exhaust, it’s not supposed to make anyone think “oh look, that H2 has a central tire inflation system” and nobody even would (most people probably don’t know the story of it anyways). All in all, I think it’s a nice throwback and I like the way it looks

It went out of business because of the 2008 crash and recession, and then rising gas prices. It had little to do with anyone considering it "embarrassing."
