When I sold guns for a major retailer, a 10-22 I helped sell then mount a scope was used in a homicide. The killer brought the gun back and the manager on duty at the time bought it back. The lady who did our BATF paperwork felt something was off so we locked it in the gun room. A couple months later, the State Police and ATF came for it. The killer is now doing life. I know, because I was supeoned to appear at the trial. I didn't end up going because the killer pled out on the gun charge.
Not as cheap as they used to be. Lol. Printer goes BRRRR.
Kel-Tec Sub 2000 seems to be gaining ground in that community these days.
I have always wanted one. I just never see then for sale locally.
@loquat44-40 don't want to tell you what to buy but if you want a pcc I'd suggest looking into an ar9 style rifle instead of one of the folding ones
@@dubsdiditup I own all sorts of things. There are certain things relating to portability and storage about the sub-2000 that fascinate me. So far I have AR-15 pistols, but not yet in a pistol caliber. I do have a HiPoint pistol caliber carbine.
I saw a recent video by T&T comparing for AR pistols: 9mm 147 Win Ranger ammo compared to hornady 300 bo 190 grain subsonic and the 9m ranger ammo seem to perform better in an 8" vs 300 bo 8.5 inch barrel in gel.
The most important aspect of a gun is to have it when you need it. The sub-2000 has that attribute.
@loquat44-40 that's fair I was looking into the sub-2000 gen 3 for a while but decided to go with the db9r by Diamond Back. The main reasons I chose that over the sub 2k was the bolt lock back and the compatibility with ar style furniture. Plus it was relatively affordable for a pcc
@@dubsdiditup PSA that is selling them at the moment has dropped the price to $793.99. Probably that configuration is not what I want. More likely to want an AR pistol format. I do not buy guns for the range use anymore. I would look into this" '' H&R and PSA have collaborated on a DOE 9mm AR SMG'', that is in semi-auto.
Love this series.
I love the 10/22 my dad bought me one when I was 12 after the first.22 I had was junk, we liked it so much he bought another one, love the crime series
Had a former cop tell me that he saw more marlin model 60s than 10/22s especially during the ban era because it's tube mag held more and they were cheaper than the ruger
🇺🇸
We know what "10/22" stood for, the Marlin "60" must of stood for 60 bucks all day long.
The Marlin Model 60 was the first gun I learned on.
The introduction music is like a tv series. I like it. Such a riveting true crime sound. Almost Horror.
Maybe thats a good idea. A three disk tv series set.
Pistol, Rifle and Other.
While I was aware that .22 was commonly used in crime due to it being cheap and easy to use I wasn't aware that the Ruger 10/22 was so common.
The banana clip I bought was the only failure I ever had with my 10/22😅
Try magazines next time.
@@Kesssuli ha ha
Yes! Have had 2 Murders with 10/22. First NG, Second jury came back G of Manslaughter.
Both 1 shot kills. Both inside conversation range.
I predict we will see the hi-point carbine family in this series in time.
Omg the draco 10/22 looks so cute! 😊
Gah....I remember the days of those rifles being on sale at bi-mart for all of 119.99 lol regular price for most of my life was like 189.99. Now...same rifle, same store...yeah, about 289.99 on sale if memory serves. Still a great little plinker!
Great Video Chris. Please do a crime series or just a informational video on the glock switches...thanks
Already did, check out Vol 16! It was the last crime series i did before this one
Love this series, never new the 10-22 used so much in crime, thanks
Please give us more of this crime series!!!
0:41 I won't lie, I want to build a range toy like this now.
This is the way
Buy a Ruger Charger then get a wood stock to cut down. Cutting a rifle to this length would require a form one for an SBR. You can put a longer barrel on the charger to get the look you want.
Brenda Spencer used a 10/22 in the infamous Cleveland Elementary School shooting back in 1979. The one that inspired the Boontown Rats song "I Don't Like Mondays"
All of these markings could well be used to identify brass as having likely been fired from a 10/22, but can it be used to link a fired casing to a specific, individual 10/22?
One of My Favorites Chris and Heather The Crime Series 😊❤️😀 Thanks You 😀👍🏼 You Guys Rock 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Evil looking assault rifle? Thanks, now we won't be able to have them in Illinois..lol
Thank god you can still get these there. But still, ditch that state.
Another informative video. Keep up the good work.
I've had a few and sold them in past decades. My current one has a folding stock ,red dot, and BX trigger. Only one of my guns I can still afford to plink with because centerfire is too expensive.
You can get a Mossberg Blaze for about $150.
The Rossi .22 is inexpensive as well.
You can get a savage 64F under $100 sometimes
You should do a video about the Draco or other rifle-pistol type weapons and their use in crime.
I see two KAK BCG on the vice. Please do a downward K-spec BCG review please. It is an awesome and innovative product.
Already done and in the queue
Gas Chromatography
Now they got 22lr Hollow Points
Chris. You talk about resorting serials but do firearms have multiple markings like a car would? If someone would remove the metal plate from a poly lower is there another marking? Seems like there should be some redundancies in the markings.
There are some that do have hidden numbers
Why is this unlisted? Any specific reason?

I noticed the mention of lead bullets vs jacketed ones. We of course all know that there are so-called "jacketed" .22 bullets such as he popular Mini-Mag. Is the difference here that Mini-Mags are actually copper plated, as distinct from other caliber jacketed bullets? Trying to work this out here.
The 22 Mini Mags are a copper washed lead. You can feel the lead to touch. That is not jacket. The 22 Win Mag is actual copper jacket. The lead would be to hot and melt in a Win Mag load, has to be copper jacket.
@@SmallArmsSolutions Thank you! Longtime viewer and own two copies of American Rifle, but just signed up for Patreon yesterday.
Do you know what stock is on the rifle on the thumbnail? You gotta try out the 10/22 charger with a folding brace or stock, it's really fun to shoot.
ATI American Tactical Imports. It is an OK stock but I like the Blackhawk Axiom better. The Blackhawk doesn’t fold. The hinge on the ATI can move a little and contacts you face in prone.
Can you get one with a switch?
$199.99 at PSA.
Mossberg blaze is $150 most places
Well I’ve met several old timers who have shot themselves in the foot with rifle like this, one exactly this. That count as crime?
It does if you’re the foot!
On the serial number tracings there have been some changes. The ATF seems to have been setting up a digital database of records from out of business gunshops. I strongly suspect that the used 10/22 I purchased from a small dealer some years ago that is now dead is in the new ATF database. The dealer purchased it from the widow of the owner and I purchased it either in the late '80s or early '90s, but it does not matter how many hands that gun went through, the last transfer when I purchased it is likely in the ATF database.
Too bad the gun broke and you no longer have it.
@@Standefiant Be careful what is said on the internet. If I admitted to owning it here, I would truthfully respond to a federal agent. I do not know how the 5th A applies here, but I understand one can go to prison for lying to a fed agent.
@@loquat44-40 Don't have to lie. You are under no obligation to answer anyone's questions.
@@Standefiant You do not have to say anything unless there is a law mandating it. I think if you have a tax stamped NFA item, you have to be able to account for it, but I do not know the specifics. Now it seems that the Trump is headed to the white house, we hope that a lot of the ATF harassment of citizens goes away.
@@loquat44-40 No law supersedes the supreme law. But these commie cultists dont care about the law unfortunately.
Fully semi-automatic
i am prob the only guy who dont like 22.

When they were $110 the trigger housing was aluminum alloy, now they are plastic......
Yikes. That audio is terrible, sorry.
Had to stop watching due to the static in audio.
