I just love how you can see videos posted all over the internet with people blasting glocks with switches in every hood and yet somehow the ATF doesn’t go there. Almost like they either want the crime OR they don’t want to go where they may have to actually fight someone.
I have yet to come across a glock switch equip firearm in my law enforcement career, however I do have fellow officers who have recovered them.
I am still of the opinion that peaceful gun owning Americans should absolutely have the ability to own new machine guns, but instead we are COLLECTIVELY PUNISHED from registering new machine guns under the NFA because of the unlawful CONSCIOUS DECISION of criminals.
In my area (rural Maine) law enforcement doesn't give a sh about the gun laws. They just don't want anything in plain view.
Politicians don't like it when you call their work "unlawful concious decision of criminals"
Conscious decisions of ELECTED CRIMINALS you mean.
No, we're being punished because Wayne LaPierre sold us out. He told the membership legislation to repeal the Hughes amendment would be pushed out immediately. It never came. In 2017 he admitted on a Face the Nation interview this was always a lie and he just wanted to ban them.
Even with him gone, if you check the NRA press releases they are still 100% behind the Hughes. To abolish the NFA, you must first abolish the enemy within (the NRA) so they stop sucking away resources, that could be used by literally anyone actually on our side, and using them to *actively( sabotage us.
@@rob6850 Well William Hughes D-NJ offered his amendment as a way to kill the entirety of the FOPA legislation, but presented it as a piece of needed legislation claiming a problem when their was none! That is criminal in my book.
Talked to a guy who did community outreach in Memphis. According to him the feds aren’t prosecuting if they catch a minor with a switch. The gangs have figured it out.
Every time I pull up next to a car with limo tint, I assume there's a tarantula with a switch pointed at me.

This is a correct assumption.
In 99% of cases on the street, these things are just going to be noise-makers/miss-faster devices.
Miss the person they're trying to hit, hit 3 innocents that had nothing to do with the situation in question
@@CenlaSelfDefenseConceptsI’ve seen a few cases there they’re getting better @ handling them
you mean collateral damage creators.
When I was the designated firearm detective, i investigated a few and they are becoming more and more prevalent. Which only screws over the law abiding gun owners. 😐
It won't matter soon criminals will be the only ones armed soon. Too much gun control.
Yes sir it most definitely does
You can thank rap music for fucking us over
Thank your grandparents for voting in the folks that created the NFA, thank them for believing the propaganda that daddy government makes more laws to keep u safe. Dont blame rap music
Well, law abiding gun owners should be able to own these switches as well. Criminals don't care about laws. No reason law abiding citizens shouldn't be able to have these, or any NFA item as well.
Here come the live leak from Brazil flashbacks.
No kidding!
I thought the drive by and the guy smoked on live were both Puerto Rico.
Hands down the most interesting and underrated firearm related content on the internet.
I look forward to your videos every week and always appreciate your insight/knowledge on the topic.
I attended an ATF seminar earlier this week and the subject of Glock switches came up. A Class 2 asked why ATF had instructed him to register his Glock pistol as a MG instead of the switch. The NFA rep was left scratching his head. He then asked the 90 FFLs in the room if any of them dealt with NFAs and half of them raised its hand. You gotta love Montana.
Just because one is a cop or military DOES NOT mean you are a gunfighter
Exactly. It is one thing to own a gun. It is another to understand it and to be able to use it safely and effectively. It is another realm entirely to be a gunfighter.
Can't stop the signal
Printer goes brrrr
I know if I bought one online I'd have AFT all up in my 6. I think they want all the Chicago issues happen to justify gun grabbing.
Remember that with politicritters nothing happens by accident.
Put on blackface and give your best imitation of African American Venacular English. The ATF will choose to ignore you.
It looks more controlable than I would think it would be.
Looks at the videos of "fellas" shooting these things, Chris is just really good at holding it down
There's a CZcamsr Eric Pettway who shoots steel with full auto Glocks. He can get whole mag dumps on target.
Easier said than done. Chris has been using and developing guns for over 20yrs. Few people out there have the knowledge to write multiple books on firearms that the military and 2A community both respect.👍
I have a lot of trigger time on the Glock 18. Not so much with the Glock switch but handles identical. You have to know how to lean into it and have a good grip. If you have this, it is rather accurate and simple to keep on a silhouette at 15 yards. It does take experience like anything else. The gun is inherently easier to control due to the low bore axis compared to any other machine pistol i have fired. This on auto was easier to control than a Beretta 93R with a 3 round burst limiter.
@@SmallArmsSolutions That's surprising, I would have thought the compensator on the 93R counted for more than bore axis.
It's a sad day when criminals have access to more firepower than law abiding citizens.
Based
These things are so common and easy to get where I am, they might as well just be legal. U could go in any hood apartment complex in Dallas and find atleast 15-20 of these, and they aren’t really prosecuting teens for it either.
The police in my town told me that the feds are literally not prosecuting cases referred to them with these so the State of Indiana had to pass their own law banning machine guns.
Was already a federal ban. So whatever Indian passed would only affect machine guns built prior to 1986.
The US Attorney's office for the Memphis, TN area is starting to prosecute some cases where these are found by the local PDs during criminal investigations.
It's not the correct demographic using them. Feds focus on law-abiding AR-15 owners instead of street criminals.
@@SmallArmsSolutionsHB 1365 changed the state definition of machine gun to include drop in conversions. The point was to allow the state to prosecute under state law when the feds don’t.
Sounds like Indiana is run by tyrants.
Thank you so much, Chris! You are awesome!! Also, you should write a book about your experiences as a forensic firearms examiner.
HK VP70z had a cold-hammer forged polygonal barrel and has a full-auto version...

It weirded me out when most of America just found about them a few years ago.

I honestly don't care if the Chinese export them here, even if they do so intending to cause chaos. I think any of us should be able to walk into A shop and buy one or even order from amazon.
One time the commies are correct
chinese exports of drugs are a politically motivated activity, but im not convinced these are really an example of the same phenomenon. I think this is just them selling something they know people will buy and it is innocuous to manufacture, harmless on its own and has no use or meaning there. I doubt the CCP is distinctly aware of their distribution but yeah probably wouldn’t be unhappy knowing the chaos they can create.
It’s a waste of ammo. Untrained individuals handling a Glock 18, that’s not something I want to see. These criminal gangs do spray and pray and don’t care who they hit. The latter being the real problem here.
@@StormFanatic210keep simping for gun laws bud. The “criminals”‘don’t care anyways
Yep. These shouldnt be illegal in the first place.
So much for that gun control 😂

Love these crime videos. Hope to see more in the future.
I live in a town of 30k. The city police confiscated 3 full auto Glocks and 2 full auto AR-15 pistols last month alone. We were already one of the most dangerous cities in the entire country. Just had 3 murders in the past 3 days.

Excellent stuff as always.
Laugo could probably make a sweet machinepistol
That's a strange manufacturer to cherry pick. What have they made besides the Alien?
The Alien would make for an awful SMG platform because of how hot it gets under just one mag of semi.
Years ago I heard that on a regular glock the rails are too low. On a g18 they are around ⅙ of inch taller. Regular glock after few hundred rounds or so ,the frame will melt from the friction.
Can’t wait for him to do a crime series episode on the Draco.
Another Installment of The Crime Series Thanks Chris & Heather 😀😊😇
The Glock switch is a requirement to be in a Chicago gang at this point.
Thank you. 👍
Knowledgeable geeks with access to basic hand tools have been making full time full auto glocks for decades, lawfully and otherwise. I think it says a lot about real criminals (they have victims) that it only became a problem when the inept got access.
This video should have been done exclusively in ebonics.
I tried one out at a rental range. Most useless thing I've ever pulled the trigger on.
There has been a couple show up in my town in MS, and have been used in a couple of shooting and murders. Whether that guy made it or not, someone would’ve come up with it eventually.
Your latest content has been awesome
What's crazy now is there's discreet switches that look exactly the same as a normal glock backplate. You wouldn't be able to tell unless you fired or disassembled the firearm.
Excellent video…just reinforces the fact that criminals will continue to be criminals no matter what the law requires 😕🙁☹️
Not that it's exclusive, because it certainly isn't, it's "more trend than concrete."
We (current LE, not a former tool examiner relying on 2nd hand information or PIOs) see them primarily in the hands of organized drug gang members. We have also yet (cross fingers) to see anyone charged with a crime associated with their use, just their possession in my jurisdiction.
Even then, it's still very rare. Why pick up additional charges and oftentimes Federal ones at that seems to be the mindset.
The sheer number of them getting recovered in Chicago have shown us that if the volume gets high enough, the risk of federal prosecution for possession for a given individual becomes quite low.
@@thebenioreh, not so much. Politics takes a front seat at times. Nobody complains much if the Feds build a new prison (that's "someone else's money") the way they do at state level. They'll prosecute if the politics demand it.
There is a lot of sewage that creeps into America from places like California and Chicago.
The German equivalent of Military Clothing and Sales sold them in the same cabinet as knives. This was KAIA north side.

I've always been curious if these are rough on the gun, like the coat hanger conversion.
It would be interesting to see the full auto Glock fired with some of the modern comps. There has to be a ton of gas exiting the barrel.
the switch changes everyone to Jerry Miculek 😁 but not as accurate as him .
Hundreds of years before the founding fathers even wrote the second amendment, there existed massive cannons and bombs, the founders clearly knew about these but how come they didn’t exclude bombs and cannons when they wrote the second amendment??
Wait until they find out about glock exoskeltons, they might be able to hit their target with them.
Love the crime series
So why is it that so many of these gunsperts don’t take their safety seriously? Many of the ones I watch never wear safety glasses. Maybe they wear safety contacts lenses. Great video.
NFA is soo absolete and archaic because of devices like these
Lots of different ways to achieve the same result
Chris, awesome video buddy!👍
I suspect the people who favor these weren't aiming too much to begin with. Accuracy by volume is better than no accuracy if you dont really care about the crimes being racked up.
Aw cool Buffalo is featured, Go Bills!
Should do the polymer 80's

That was A FN P-90
I'm curious in what Chris thinks about the Franklin Armory binary triggers. Any practical applications or just a way to waste ammunition?
I am not a fan of firing on release. I think it is not practical for any real world applications. I think it’s dangerous if you fire the first round but cannot stop the second if need be. But it is a good range toy I suppose. Im not to particularly interested in these types of device including bump stocks. My mandate is designs of military and LE weapons. These all have negative effects on accuracy and safety in my opinion so should not be used in real world defense conditions. But for range, for fun go at it!
@@SmallArmsSolutionsthe Franklin trigger can have the safety flipped down from binary to semi to avoid firing the second round.
Of course its basically a 2 round burst feature so no worse than military rifles with burst features.
Why are these so popular with criminals for glocks but lightning links for ARs never caught on as much ?
Because crimes are overwhelming commited with handguns.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz ah makes sense
The links for ARs are popular in Dallas rn, lots of teens with fully automatics
I believe you sir
I like how the ATF will go out of their way to prosectute and prey on easy to target law abiding citizens, but will never send agents into the hood / urban cities where all sorts of illegally modified fully automatic weapons exist. Why? Because their agents will end up in the dumpster behind the discount tobacco shop.
@coletam, nope, it’s because the democraps need a boogeyman to justify more guncontrol. The Soros DA’s won’t go after black gun crimes.
They aren’t going to go after people that have nothing to lose
Look into the Yankee boogle next. 3d printers are making all forms of gun control obsolete.
I remember seeing these on wish back in the day....said they were for airsoft 😅
I shot a Glock 18 once. One of the most useless guns ever when it comes to accuracy.
Goddam this thing is so cool
May I ask why Gaston Glock made the Glock 18 in the first place? Was it a contract request from Austria?
Was for Austrian Special Forces, I believe Cobra unit. Not quite sure. It’s been awhile but there was a request for it.
With access to know how.and and very affordable equipment to make does items. Does law should be repeal. Unless there's and economy interest in making does item illegal.

Nice video Chris. I’m glad the Mrs. pushed you to make this a series. Maybe you could delve into the world of mass shootings and the weapons used, and the challenges our law enforcement faces since most are outgunned early in these incidents. I’m sure your background and training can add insight to these challenging events that LE must deal with. Are there better weapons that the basic US patrol officer should be carrying on their person to address these threats? Are there weapons that would strike a balance between those mischaracterized by some as “military weapons of war” and sufficient to suppress automatic or semi automatic rifle fire? I think there’s a gap in intelligent discussion about these weapons in a lot of the gun community and it takes a thoughtful and nuanced approach to identify solutions that won’t be DOA at the state level.
There is not much to say. To be very honest, our police are not outgunned. Every incident they had the same if not better weapons (SWAT will mostly even have select fire weapons) plus body armor and they did not stop any of these mass shootings. LE has failed every one of these incidents sitting outside while shooting was going on and victims bleeding out from survivable wounds because law enforcement waited to actually enter the buildings. Law Enforcement faces training problems, not being outgunned and not lack of equipment. Any officer with a patrol carbine can match any of these threats. None of these shooters had anything different than a LE patrol carbine, semi-automatic rifles. To answer your question blatantly, there is no problem at all with LE weapons. It’s their SOP on engaging active shooters. If you would have asked this question back around 1986 when the first real mass shooting happened in Stockton, CA, I would have answered this differently. Now, there are multiple grants available to PD’s to purchase new weapons. The US military has the Star program where they provide LE with M16’s and other military equipment for free.
Since all that needs done is replace the back plate with no other modifications, does that make Glocks “readily convertible “?
I don't think so. The firearm is still being disassembled and a part removed and replaced. Plus, the regulated part of the pistol isn't the slide. It's the frame, or the auto sear.
I don’t think so, the auto sear has to be manufactured. Your average guy cannot manufacture one of these components. Well skilled machinist can make anything. So I do not believe the pistol is readily convertible. That is terminology of someone who is looking for any excuse to ban a weapon in common use. By this login, any strike fired pistol (Sig P320, CZ P-10, FN…) would be considered readily convertible and could potentially be banned.
@@SmallArmsSolutions Some anti-gunner latching onto readily convertible was my exact worry.
This has already happened in NY. They are introducing a bill to ban Glock pistols and anything else they will consider readily convertible which will be about every striker fired pistol.

But we should all have access to them.
@@life_of_riley88
Oh, I agree. But we don't, and the ones who do have them don't seem to practice proper muzzle discipline if you know what I mean.😜. So in my opinion the govt should either legalize them or get tougher on criminals, but that'll never happen.🇺🇲
Yup we all know who is getting busted with them it's certain "people" only
Crime was actually lower when full auto was legal. Just proves these laws are pointless. STOP PUNISHING GOOD PEOPLE.
❤
The cities are wide open for gangs to do as they please with drug selling, other crimes, and so not for something as simple as glock switches. I predict they will soon have full auto ARs also.
Not sure I agree. All the parts on a Glock switch are fabricated. None of the parts on an AR are you fabricated. Those are all components assembled with a modified receiver. Of course you can fabricate the auto sear. But you need all the other pre made components. The Glock switch is far easier than trying to convert a military rifle where 5 separate parts must be used together.
Question?
Milwaukee as bad as the rumors thats out there?
Is there ever a BURST Glock switch out there?
Milwaukee has been very bad for well over 20 years
@@SmallArmsSolutions Isn't the Major Breweries there? Miller, Pabst, Stroh's?
Miller I think is the only one there now
@@SmallArmsSolutions Why is it so BAD in Milwaukee?
TBH, I don’t know. When I was there poverty and unemployment was high. Heavy drug and gang activity.
What can be done to stop this with so many of the striker fired guns using the back plate and similar sear reset design. I think that suing glock is ridiculous since someone is illegally manufacturing a part to begin with . It's altering the design of the weapon. Is this even a thing that can be fixed before anti gunners and gangs sway the votes because of the bad press.

Dissenting opinion:
The NFA exists because this is *not* the first time fully automatic weapons have been a problem for law enforcement.
That being said the 2A explicitly states SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED
Our founding fathers did not pen this after a weekend hunting trip.
They had just finished a successful revolution against tyranny.
Nah, that's mostly conjecture + Hollywood BS (OG Scarface, etc). The most famous cases of automatic weapons in hands of criminals were generally stolen, or already so expensive doubling their cost did little to reduce their proliferation.

That tells me everything I need to know.
you seem to think machineguns in civilian hands is a bad thing. do you support the NFA and the ban on machineguns? do you see them as inherently "more dangerous" and therefore subject to regulation? would love to know your opinion on this.

We are talking about over the last 20 years or so. Machine guns have been very rare in modern times. This switch was a game changer that put them more in common use realm.
