    Oh Joelle... God bless you.... I just lost my baby boy at 13 weeks on 9-19-18... I'm so sad.. They told me the reason why I miscarried was because I too have an IC. They didn't find out til it was too late .. My husband has been so supportive.. I really think this has made are relationship way stronger then we were before.. Thank you for sharing because my husband was so bummed out when he found out I'd have IC every time... And he fears we won't be able to have a baby but I just showed him your success story.. He's so cute Cuz he like I told you we can make another and this time it will be perfect... You give me hope for my next baby.. Keep your faith up and remember God never gives you too much to handle at once if he wasn't sure of ur strength..

    Your feelings at the end about the guilt, I totally get it, I lost my son Bennett almost two weeks ago because of undiagnosed silent ic, and the guilt was really immediate and hard to work through. But we're already forming a plan to try again.

    I have IC unfortunately I didn't find out until my second pregnancy. I lost my son back in 2014 at 19 weeks because of it. When I got pregnant again with my daughter I switched doctors and they kept an eye on my just to figure out why i had lost my son. At 23 weeks I was funneling and cervix was shortening, I got admitted for 3 months up until I had my daughter at 35 weeks. I'm pregnant again with my 2nd daughter and got the cerclage placed at 14 weeks and get weekly 17p shots. I am 28 weeks tomorrow ❤️ I have had no complications with this pregnancy thank the good lord. Cerclages are heaven sent for us IC mommies ❤️❤️

    My husband & I lost our son, Jackson, on Nov 29th 2019. He was our first kiddo. Everything was fine at my 20 week scan & then that night I started contracting & the next day we went to the hospital. We were there for 4 days until he was born at 21 weeks. He is our angel baby & we are praying for our rainbow.

    Thank you for sharing. I was 19 weeks and went in for a routine ultrasound. Everything was fine but when the tech went to check my cervix, i knew something was wrong. She called my doctor who came in right away. She told me that she wanted me to go to Sanford and see the OBGYN that day. Seen the OBGYN and he said i was funneling and measuring at 1.3 cm. He admitted me after we got done speaking and the next day i went to get the cerclage placed. I had very little cramping and was watched for several hours. That day i was allowed to go home and i was given progesterone to take daily and to do follow up appt. Ive searched everywhere on the internet to find other moms going thru the same thing & i came across your channel. Thank you so much for sharing. It has helped me understand more about the cerclage and to know im not alone. Im scared but im trying to remain positive. And seeing that you carried your son and gave birth gives me hope that i will too.

    Thank you for posting this. in January I lost my daughter Violet at 21 weeks almost 22. Due to cervical incompetence. I had no idea about any of this and when I went to the doctor it was too late for anything. the doctor told me she could put a cerclage in but that at this point it was basically not going to work. My daughters heart beat for a little over an hour. It changes your life completely. I'm so glad that you have a happy story to tell in the end. For many women it's not a happy ending. And losing your first child unexpectedly changes you and your whole life. It has changed everything and I will never get over it. But I will hopefully have a successful pregnancy and have a full term baby one day. Thank you for bringing some attention and talking about something that so many people don't want to talk about. It makes it harder to deal with something that everyone is too sad or ashamed of to talk about. ♡

    I just found out that I have an incompetent cervix yesterday at 21 weeks exactly after my anatomy scan and I wanted to CRY. I feared so bad at first that I’m going to lose my baby boy and that’s terrifying and heart breaking. My cervical length is at 2 millimeters and if anyone knows about this, it should be between 4 and 5 CENTIMETERS, not millimeters but they didn’t see my water bag or anything. It’s paper thin but nothing is trying to push itself out. Thank God. This gave me some hope! Thank you so much for this video and for sharing your story! I’m on serious bed rest for the next 10-19 weeks and I’m trying to keep my spirits up, stay positive and push through! I have faith that everything will be ok. ❤️

    We lost our daughter at 21 weeks, and I am pregnant again at 22 weeks in hospital after the cervical stitch, I hope and pray this works for us too. It has been such a difficult ride but I'm hoping it will only get easier.
    We did not know that I have weak cervix as they don't check our measurements usually in the UK (well where I live anyway) and would complain and ask about continuous pelvic pressure but everything was overlooked. I went into labour and our daughter breathed a few hours and passed away. The cause was unexplainable by doctors beside a small urine infection that I had.
    The same could have happened in this pregnancy had I not followed my gut feeling and pushed for them to check me.

For the next pregnancy, doctor said that i have to have a servix cerclage because i have incompetence servix. August 25, i had my servix cerclage when my second pregnancy is about 14 weeks. September 22 (a week a go), we lost the baby. So the cerclage didn't work for me. Now we're looking for another treatment to keep my next pregnancy. Anw, so happy for your cerclage success story.

    Im 14 weeks pregnant tomorrow and i just found out i have IC 2 days ago when i went to the ER for spotting and cramping. They told me i had IC and wanted me to follow up with my doctor immediately. They measured my cervix to be 2.6 cm and my appointment with my OB is on Monday. Ive been taking it easy at home since the ER visit but i am so terrified. Ive been reading so many stories online about people losing their baby from having an IC. I cry randomly all day and at night. I also live in minnesota so i imagine my Dr. will be having me go to Abbott in minneapolis for the surgery. God bless you and your family. I know a woman that kept having miscarriages. She finally had a baby that lived. No one could ever think that she hurt the babies that didn't make it. Pregnancy is one of the scariest things to endure. And there is much of it we can't control. My mother had a lot of trouble with her last baby. She was on bedrest for months. My sister was still born almost 3 months premature. Now she is the tallest person in the family. I call her my giant baby sister. If you find yourself pregnant again, you can lie down most of the time. It would help keep the baby stay in. Remember not to be hard on yourself, that is very important.

I found out at my 20w anatomy scan that my cervix was funneling(on last tuesday) my OB started me on progesterone pill insert vaginally, by wednesday night I had some cramping, kinda sharp... nothing to severe but it made me so uneasy I decided to go... they admitted me and thursday we were told our baby boy was not going to make it, my membranes were already bulging and that i was at such a high risk for losing this pregnancy... They contacted another specialist and she took me back on Friday for the rescue cerclage and I had two stitches placed. I came home on Monday night... I'm so terrified. hiii i watched your video and that inspired me alot...i want to ask a question from you....your cervix was dilated or it was just short ....i m 21 weeks pregnant and my gyno said my cervix length is good but it is open i really don't know what that means....

    • @joactive
      @joactive  Před 7 lety

      at my 20 week appointment it was short and this caused my doctor to want to see me a week later. So at 21 weeks I went in for another scan and my cervix was dilated to 1 cm. It is ok to ask your doctor to clarify when they say things you don't understand. Did you get a cerclage or get put on bed rest? How are you doing now?

    I can relate SOOO much to your video! I lost my daughter at 22 weeks in May 2015 due to my incompetent cervix. It wasn't caught until my anatomy scan at 21 weeks. My cervical length was immeasurable and I was 3cm dilated. It was too late for a cerclage at that point.
    I am currently 21 weeks pregnant, I got my preventative cerclage at 13 weeks. And I have been on strict bedrest since 16 weeks due to shortening/funneling. I have so much worry and anxiety with this pregnancy. I thought for sure the preventative cerclage would prevent me from having to be on bedrest so soon but I guess everyone is different. My husband and I are leaning toward this pregnancy being our last. I don't think I can bear going through this again....either losing another child or seeing my child spend months in the NICU because of a condition that I have. The guilt from losing my daughter was intense. I can't experience it again.

    Here in the UK they don't check your cervix routinely, if they did I'm sure my sons life would have been saved just as your sons was. I had a preventative cerclage fitted at 14 weeks with my second son and he survived. I'm now pregnant unexpectedly with twins and I'm so so scared, my cerclage is scheduled for 9 days time I'm so so want these babies to survive, I already feel the guilt of being pregnant again with an incompetent cervix even though it was unplanned. Fingers crossed for us both!!. Xx

    Hello dear, I lost my baby boy at 24 weeks of pregnancy bcoz of shortening of cervix length at 21 weeks which was 2.4 Cm. Dr’s didn’t bother for the same before that . She just gave progesterone 200mg vaginally but didn’t ask to report after one week. She said next meeting is after 4 weeks. But at 24 weeks water bag came out. There was no chance. I again want to get pregnant.
