Glad to be a part of this!
So nice to hear you actually sing a melodic part and not just bass lol!
Glad to have you (as always)
The old ways are the best ways. Tried and true!
#therealdeal
We need more Accent singing with big-band back-up!
Great arrangement!
So good! Absolutely brilliant!!!
The whole thing is beautifully arranged and performed but special mention of the way the bass has been recorded. Deep and tuneful, it's great to be able to hear each and every note.
Terrific vocal and big-band combination! ACCENT SINGERS DO IT, SWING WITH THE BIG BAND. FINE ARRANGEMENT!
more more more of this!!! This the kind of sound missing around. WE NEED MORE
Yes we sure need more!!!
Brilliant. Patrick Williams is smiling from above. The Bass/Basstrombone Bits are straight from him. What a privilege to arrange for these Cats. You deserve it.
Thanks! Yes Pat was very much in my thoughts when I was working on this. I'm sure I stole a lot :)
@@AndrewKesler and thats a good thing. And for your future arranging work ; be nice to us Boneplayers like Pat was. God bless you.
Andrew .... When I was 6 years old I was on the variety TV show "Art Linkletter's House Party" show and was interviewed on their famous segment "Kids Say the Darnest Things in 1957. On that same show the special musical guests were "THE HI-LO'S" and they were truly amazing. I got to meet them all in their dressing room and they were very kind to us kids. I must say I got very emotional when I heard you sing "I Don't Know Enough About You." Just beautiful!
Woooo! Ya man! This is crushing!
So wonderful, I found this tomight and have already played it ten times! An exceptional project all round. Bravo all! And to add the International flavour, Chris Walden is German!
Wonderful!!
You know this style perfectly. More of this, please! With band or a capella. This style, though! Great job, Andrew!
Andrew. This is special. My Dad introduced me to the Hi-lo’s when I was a kid. The intricacies Gene put in those arrangements...the textures, humor, ground breaking harmony...were completely unique. My friend, you have captured that with this effort. I’m astounded. My hats off to you. This was a ton of work, no doubt, so I celebrate that you (and Accent) are keeping these unique musical concepts fresh and relevant today. Freaking. Awesome.
Thank you Jon! It was a huge endeavour indeed but to hear a comment like that makes it all worth it!
Let 's keep the astonishing world of close harmony alive ! 'Fresh , relevant and of all times !! JB
This here performance tingles the soul all over like body shivers while sliding into a hot soapy tub of luxury and bliss!
If there is a better word than TIGHT, then these musicians have it. Excellent playing
Oh Andrew! This is so great. Lovin' this swing.
Perfection
Four Freshmen with Stan Kenton come to mind. mighty fine!
More of this!
, Accent singers with big band
Hey amazing and excellent job Andrew! Wow! So tight
Hi-Lo's style. Just great. Many thanks.
Keep it rollin’ on, guys! You’re doing the Lord’s work, keeping this music alive and fresh! 😊
Absolutely fantastic! I think Manhattan Transfer would be delighted by this wonderful group of young singers following in the wake of everyone from the Modernaires, to the Merry Macs, the Pied Pipers, the Four Freshmen and indeed the Hi-Los. Welcome back REAL close harmony! Manhattan TRansfer (most honourably!) aside, aside, this grand craft been away too long!
No question this is the best swing style vocal group to come out of UK! Great work everyone.
I have been a Hi Lo’s fan since 1953 when I bought their first recording - a 10” LP. It is so refreshing to hear modern singers and bandsmen replicate the musical sounds that were so, so far ahead of their time - and to do it so professionally. Having some experience in the type of close harmony sung by the quartet helps me to be amazed at their balance and blend. It is profoundly difficult to balance. Well done!!
Sends shivers down the spine. Superb musicians. I have only just been introduced to your music and, boy, am I grateful. I've spent the last three days watching and listening to everything "Accent" as well as all of you individually. Serendipity is a wonderful thing having brought you all together to create this fabulous sound and marvellous music. Such a joy in this difficult time. Kudos to you, Andrew, for such a great arrangement. More please!
Love this Walden big band and the Accent quartet!!!
Can’t wait for Whole
Album to blaze my ears!!
OMG...!!! You guys are so mean. How I CRRRAVE... to make & perform this kind of vocal arrangement. Andrew, I **GRRR...!!!** you (with countless thumbs up & hats off). Et JB, je croyais que tu prends systématiquement la partie la plus haute, mais c'est pas le cas apparemment. Je trouve ça très cool.
A huge round of applause & standing ovation from Indonesian acappella lovers.
Exceptional and fun!
So nice to see Accent exploring so many different styles of choral music! Big band with four voices in close harmony has got to be a high point in the tradition as it gives so much opportunity for expression. The beautiful intimacy of the voices contrasts with the exciting reach and colour of the band. Great arrangement and performance, guys. More please!
Astonishing!!!Keep going boys!!!! It is always a pleasure!!! And the Chris Walden Band as always faaaantastic!!!!
