It's fun to look back at the below video description which was written when we posted this in 2012:
We're a "virtual" sextet from 5 different countries.
You guessed it; another Take 6 cover! We actually had a lot of requests for this one, and fortunately for us, our second tenor Simon Åkesson had already transcribed it (the original arrangement is by the unparalleled Mark Kibble of Take 6). In fact, you can check out his stellar choir, Kammarkören Sångkraft, performing it here: • 04 jubileumskonsert
This arrangement was challenging, to say the least, but we had crazy fun putting it together. We recorded it part by part, starting with Evan on the bottom and finishing with JB on top. Evan mixed the audio and Andrew edited the video. We tried to stay true to the Take 6 performance while capturing bits of individuality here and there. We know that "Get Away, Jordan" is the #1 favorite for many T6 fans out there, so we hope you enjoy it! The toughest part is that middle part "I wanna cross the Jordan just to see Him...." I did that by myself and that baritone is a tough one. GREAT Job!!!
Yes. Cedric Dents contribution to TAKE 6 as the BARITONE is almost subliminal. Is so essential to the harmonies but can be overlooked at its importance. Often the 5th,7th of the chord or the 9th but w/o him you would sense something missing.

I think we'd have to check with the original arranger before selling our transcriptions assuming they don't already sell their arrangements. We are now working on our own original arrangements and recordings so there will be unique Accent material for fans to purchase hopefully in the near future!

Thanks for paying attention to the details! I've never heard the 5.1 version in a true surround environment, but would love to check that out. In any case, I had a lot of help along the way (from Andrew in particular), but just tried to go with my gut. We wanted to pay homage to the original while presenting a fresh sound.

Sometimes the transcriptions we have aren't ours to share. I'm all for sharing music, but in the vocal network it's good to support the great vocal arrangers that work hard to create such awesome music.

Astounding! You guys nailed this so precisely - I can listen to it repeatedly which is my litmus test. I couldn't stop did with Take 6 -I actually listened to them exclusively to my wife's complete disbelief for at least one solid year. How on earth you managed to score these arrangements in beyond me. But this is almost indistinguishable from the original...your best yet, in my opinion. Great mix, outrageous talent - all of you.

I applaud these guys for actually doing an amazing rendition of this song. I was hoping they would add some more original flair though. I mean if they were going to sing the exact song and literally almost identical, I'd just listen to the original. I've been a take 6 fan since the 80s. Its an amazing tribute and it takes real talent to even do a flawless copy of this song. I mean its virtually identical, but the guy who was doing alvin chea's part was impressive. Cause this is his song.

Good question. We all have our own gear (mics, preamps, interfaces, and software). We've all invested in mics that work well for our individual voices. Generally I think everybody either records into Pro Tools or Logic. We all send the wav files to Evan who then meticulously mixes them together. My rig is a Neumann TLM 103 into an RME Babyface into an iMac running Pro Tools 10.
