- This was easily the BEST yabbying session that I have had in recent years, and easily one of the best that I can remember. Not since my aunty sold her farm have I experienced such a great combination of quality AND quantity yabbies.

Mate that was cracking, and really nice to see you return them... Loretta pictures should be in a gallery for sure ....
Best wishes mate to all.
😎🇬🇧
Thanks so much mate. Inwill definitely pass your kind words onto Lauretta.
Is it all about the lean rump steak🤔🤔
Your enthusiasm is like an 8 year old at the Beechworth Lollie shop. Absolutely love it🥰
Thanks for sharing
Love your work
Haha thanks Moo Moo. I haven't been into that shop for years, it's it's absolutely ripper. LOL
thanks Robbie and Loretta for yet another wicked yabby video. thanks to you mate for catching them and thanks to Loretta for being patient with Robbie 😎😂
Hahaha thats funny. She needs to be very patient to put uo with me. LOL
I remember catching yabbies as a kid just using String and a little bit of meat.
It was so much fun I need to take my son out and try get some myself. Great video mate👍
Thanks mate. I have a couple of videos doing that. I'm hoping g to do it again soon. The old meat and string technique is so much fun.
Your advice with Redfin and trout fishing has helped lots!!! keep it up 👍
Thanks for the great feedback Shannon.
WOW! what a bumper catch....was crying when you threw them all back
the intro was funny as. love your vids robbie, youre a great bloke
Thank you so much mate.
Great video Robbie! Some of those bigger models looked like small Crayfish! Loved the Photo's from Loretta!
Thanks so much mate. What a magical session. I will definitely pass your kind words o to Lauretta mate. Thank you.
You checked the nets at 3:35, didn't you? C'mon you can tell us lol! Very nice haul. Some more great photos Lauretta!
Hahaha thanks Frank. I was very patient. I will definitely pass your kind words onto Lauretta.
WOW; goodonya Robbie, I couldn't let that many humungo size yabbies be released. But I suppose they will likely be huge next outing to that dam. Well done mate!!!
Haha thanks so much Peter.
G’day Robbie, what a haul mate! Sooo many yabbies.
Thanks Wayne, sure was a ripper session mate.
Wow Robbie you are literally smashing it recently but to be honest I could listen to you talk all day about nothing while doing nothing 😂 you're legendary YOUUU BEAUTYYYYYY
Haha thanks so much mate. I am certainly having a great run. As for talking all day... I use to get into trouble for that at school. Haha
Can't sleep so watching a bit of Robbie fishing 🎣
Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow afternoon so I can try get a few fish 👍🏼
I definitely need to get back yabbying soon as well, still saving more yabbies from that little dam.
Good to see you filling up the nets again champ catch you on the next one 👍🏼
Thanks so much mate. Good luck if you can get out. We have a mountain if rain forecast for this week too.
Thanks for sharing mate. Fantastic pictures.
Thank you so much Brad.
What an awesome video, a nice catch I love how you let us know what you are thinking all the time, there are some lovely birds there to look at too. I can relate to your heart story, I was always out catching rabbits when I was young, so I never felt sick when dealing with meat etc, and it was funny to see other peoples reactions to similar things.
Haha we're a pair of bushies. LOL Thanks Gav.
@@robbiefishing Just a bit wild, that's all.
How Good! some stonka yabbies, great video Robbie
Thanks mate. Was a ripper session for sure.
How good 👍🏻 mate! Least you know where to return next time the fridge is empty! Well done 👍🏻 Double thumbs up thanks Robbie
Haha thanks so much mate. This dam had no yabbies in it 2 years ago. It's amazing how they just come back.
Awesome Robbie. That would have been a meal to remember.
Thanks mate, you're not wrong.
Haha your story about the ox heart made me laugh mate. You also hit the motherload! Can’t say the same for up here. It’s been raining so much recently that everything is flooding and the water is so cold
Hahaha thanks mate. You would love to have someone like me as your class mate. There was never a dull moment. LOL
@@robbiefishing I had a way of dealing with people like you Robbie ...... hahaha! Seriously, I would have loved a class with you and Rohan in it!
Haha thanks Frank. Sadly my AdHD caused a few headaches he's for my teachers back in the 80s and early 90s. LOL
What a ripper of a session! Well done mate.
Thanks Glen. Some day you win some days you lose. I certainly won on this day. WOW
The intro and outro on this one cracked me up. Thanks Robbie!
Haha thanks Kay, I l'm glad I could give you a laugh.
Can we get another catch and cook of yabbies Robbie can’t get enough of them! Love ya videos 🐟🐟
Haha thanks Marlie. You just want to laugh at my bad cooking. Hahaha 🤣🤣 I will try and film another one this season I promise.
Congratulations - You done about 20 casts and not a single one was a fail - and not a single twisted rope - Your Modification worked a treat - Who says you're dumb ?
Hahaha it was your idea. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Mohammed.
@@robbiefishing You know - to turn an idea into something that works is where the brilliance shines - Bless you and your family for making the world a better place
That was awesome mate well done👍👍👍👍 been seeing plenty of wildlife at work this week seen beardies frill neck lizard jacky dragons, heaps of swallows red rump parrots and my favourite was a mob of quail running round while I was servicing a motor
Thanks Cam. WOW that is so cool. Lauretta is trying desperately to photograph a quail but hasn't been able to. We saw one cross the road about a month ago and it has been game on ever since. Haha
Great work Robbie. There's some lobsters in those nets 🍻👍
Thabks mate, you're not wrong. I would hate for one to grab my toe in my sandals. Haha
Great catch Robbie!!!
Thanks so much Andrew.
DING DING DING JACKPOT, haha love them robbie keep It up
Hahaha thanks mate. I really hit the jackppt this time.
Epic stuff!
I'm severely envious, but happy for your results!!!
Stuck here with crap weather!
Have spent the last 3 months getting old mates XS650 Yamaha running after over 20 years of neglect,
Overhauled engine in and running!!!! Yehh!!!
Rear brakes bled and OK
Front brake overhaul kits now on hand and starting tonight!
Maybe a running bike by tomorrow, TFFT!!
Its been an effort that I did not appreciate until it was well underway!
Thanks mate. WOW What a mission, it will be like a brand new bike. 650 is a great sized bike.
@@robbiefishing On this . I am trying to video with my Canon 550D, It's great for video stills with manual focus but it refuses to follow focus when moved around! Any thoughts on how to fix or should I just use the Sony 4K cam?
Always good to see you making vids mate keep up your good work
Thank you so much Blake.
What a ripper awesome robbie
Love this! I still have yabbie scars on my thumbs from when I was 8! String with meat snatch ‘em out by hand once you see their antenna .. throw them behind you. Yabbie caught and ready for bucket
Thanks mate. I use to love doing that too. Haha. If you weren't super quick you copped it. LOL
@@robbiefishing hahahaha 💯 mate.
Stonky yabs! Nicely done Rob
Thanks mate.
Great vid as always mat there bloody thumpers
Thanks so much Nick. What a memorable session.
Awesome work mate
Thanks so much Brad.
Maaate. Wow that is some next level self restraint right there. That was nearly enough for a U.S.A. style good ole fashioned crawfish boil. Something I'd love to try and replicate here one day with a bucket of biiiiig cherax destructors. Cheers mate.
Haha thanks mate. I would love to do that too. But I would want to do it in America with craefish and experience the gig properly.
Loads of fun using cotton and old meat pulling them up slowing and grabbing them with your hands.
Sure is mate. I have a few videos on my channel from a few years ago doing just that. Excellent fun.
Good video rob keep it up 👍🏽
Thanks so much Coopz.
Hi robbie wata haul and lorretas photos much fun watching this vid thank yous
Thank you so much.
Great stuff mate 👍
Thanks mate. 👍
Cracking video👍 Will there be the lures for Cod opening video this year? They are awesome!
Thabks so much Zaki. I'm definitely planning on a lures for cod opening video buddy.
Hey Robbie should come visit mathoura on the Murray river and visit the timber cutter great video 🤟
Thanks buddy. Maybe one day I will get there.
Love the vids keep them coming
Thank you so much Billy.
thanks Loretta the pics are beautiful.birds should benin the bush not in cages👍
Thanks so much Pete and we both agree. I will pass on your kind words.
I love yabbying. I used to use fresh chicken from the chicken farm I worked on.
Awesome. Chicken us excellent yabby bait. It doesn't lose its smell like red meat does.
Nice mate its Been ages I've been yabbying
Thanks Frank. It's such a wonderful past time.
I counted 34 top notch yabbies in that haul, RESULT !!!👍👍
Thanks mate. Sure was a ripper haul wasn't it. I was stoked.
family portrait kunny funt, after a stressful year, watching your videos makes it all normal. Oi Oi Oi. Stay beautiful mate..
Hahahaha Hang it on the wall. LOL
Thank you so much mate, and you too.
I'd say those yabbies were in shock getting thrown back.
Thabks Vincent. Hahaha It sure was their lucky day.
Nets??? No way. We used to tie bit of meat on end of string and slowly drag him in and then scoop him out with ya hand pick him up into the bucket for later on👍😎
Haha I have a few videos on this channel of me doing that. LOL
Hey robbie loving the videos they are good size yabbies
Are you going to do a video of what lures you are taking on cod opening this year
Thanks so much mate. Absolutely I am. I have already filmed it. It will be up in the next day or two.
That’s absolutely insane!
Lote of sammiches in that haul.
Bugger! You COULD have gone the yabby BANH MI rolls!
Hahahaha maybe next time.
we use bacon in the us, they love it, puts off a good scent trail for a while
That's a nice catch of C. destructors mate! Popular baits here in SE Queensland for redcaw include rockmelon, parboiled potato, cheap tins of cat food, corn and even Sunlight soap. Have you tried anything like that in your nets?
Thanks mate. I have actually. I tried rockmelon a fee years back after many people commented and suggested it. I had rockmelon in one nets and meat in the other. I caught heaps on meat and none on rockmelon. Haha I tried soap once too for a very similar experience. LOL. All I got with the soap was a very clean net. Haha
@@robbiefishing lol nice. I usually stick with a tin of catfood or a piece of mullet.
The reason you pull 'em in quick is so the net doesn't drag on the ground and get hooked on a rock or a branch or fill with mud - more important perhaps in a creek or river to avoid snags.
Did you tell Robbie about the string
@@nathansoutbackfishing I told him an idea and he came up with a working modification based on my idea
@@MohammedNovalija that’s awesome
and it pushes the yabbies to the bottom of the net through inertia
13:46, yes I do remember that song! :D
Hahaha I loved the 80s.
Keep the big ones!!!
Aww..great catch..wish im there too..can u tell me how u found that dam robbie and is it near a creek...guess i need to give ut a go around here near Dunedoo..tc
Thanks mate. I find my spots through trial and error. I have a lot of failled attempts in between successes just by trying different spots.
Next time you go, try using a cake of Pure soap as bait. Sunlight soap is good.
Thanks mate. I did use soap once but done no good. It wasn't Sunlight soap though.
Hey mate, love your work. Really keen to do some yabbying myself. Do you know if there are any in the Yarra or mullum mullum Creek? I'm in the manningham area in Melb. Also are the bait traps or open top ones better? Just want to catch a couple. Cheers
Hi mate sorry about the late reply. I do not know that area at all sorry. I have no idea. Both nets are great, but if I could only own one sort it would be the open top lift nets.
Thanks Robbie for the tip. Hope you had a great Christmas mate.
Hi Robbie great video mate, I haven't caught yabbies in years (used to get them alot in Melbourne) , can I ask what state you're catching them in? I moved to Qld and don't know if they're around these parts.
Thanks Michael. I am in North East Victoria mate. I have a feeling there are yabbies in QLD but I am unsure where exactly sorry.
I know there are huge ones in western QLD in the Diamantina River system. I think they may be called redclaw.
Plenty of Yabbies in Qld Redclaw and Marron as well as the common little blueclaw yabbie... Marron grow to 40 inches.. Redclaw 25
Awesome job bro
Thanks legend.
@@robbiefishing all good mate a mate if mine on CZcams has 919 subscribers now he is going so well

Hey Robbie how's the self control pulling the pots early going lol keep the vids coming
Haha thanks mate. I'm hoping that patience will come as I gey older. Haha I'm not 50 for 3.5 years yet. LOL
Gday Robbie just wondering what brand are your open top lift nets
Cheers
Hi mate, I am not sure to be honest. I gotbtjem when I swapped out my old Opera House Nets through the Victorian Fisheries swap out program s few years back.
Mmmm those yabbies would of been in my tummy . 😆 🤣
haha I love a feed of yabbies, they're so good.
Have you tried can cat food with holes put in the can for bait works a treat ✌️
Yep sure have. It was excellent bait.
What kind of camera and lense does she use? They looks fantastic!
Hi mate, there's links in the video description to my camera and editing software.
The last scene when I was counting was filmed with a different camera though. I forgot to link to that. Haha That was a Canon G7x mk3. The rest of thenvifeo was my gopro hero9.
@@robbiefishing awesome mate! You will have to over towards rocchy and Elmore. Good red fin and carp in the Waranga western channel.
Do u go on private property for ur yabbies or are they in public spots just want to try yabbieing any tips? And very good vid
Hi mate, I do both. When on private property I always ask permission.
Just look for a dam and if it's public land put the nets in. If it's private property then as first. The more spots you try the more rewards you will get. It is all trial and error.
Hey….
Still can’t go past your standard drop nets specially if you like to check them often, plus they don’t have to crawl up the sides to get in,
If I could only own 1 tryp of net it would probably be the drop net. I reckon they all have their place.
Got lots of them Robbie make a nice meal
Thanks so much mate.
Hi Robbie why don't you keep the carp you catch and use them for bait, I use carp for Cray bait. I like your videos mate cheers.
Hi Richard, to be honest I seem to have a lot if reddin off cuts for yabby bait. Occasionally I will keep a winter carp for cray bait, but I certainly would keep them all. I would need to hire a full cool room for that and would never use it all. LOL
Hi Robbie.. is it normal for the water to discolour after boiling yabs from a channel... appreciate yr response.
Hi Robbie
Hi Vaughan, I guess it could happen if the yabbies are dirty. It usually discolours a little bitbwhen I cook them.
34 you didn't count the big one you showed toward the end 😉well done robbie
Haha I noticed that when I was editing the video. LOL Thanks mate. 👍
Should do a catch and cook Robbie great yabbies 👍
Hey mate I filmed anyabby catch and cook just last week. LOL
Hahaha Awesome I’ll go check it out have great rest your night
@@dorewise5215 Thanks buddy I hope you do too mate.

Nice yabs but wicked bird photos lauretta great job girl👍
Thanks heaps Eck. I will be passing g on your kind comments to Lauretta.
I saw a post recently someone found 4 Yabbies in their backyard in Canberra, (can't remember the Suburb) but apparently the really big one was a blue yabby and they are not allowed to be kept? This was after a lot of rain!
WOW inwonder if they were some kind of burrowing crayfish maybe?
Just a thought..have 2 bucket. 1 for boys and 1for girls... saves catching same one's..maybe.. ?
solid 💪
Birds are cool creatures
Theu sure are mate. Beautiful creatures.
I love watching em in the mallee at my blok at Mypolonga SA
I love watching em in the mallee at my blok at Mypolonga SA
When you are yabbying, have you tried left over bbq meat...usually sausages or rissoles.......good bait :)
I haven't, but can see why it would be very effective.
@@robbiefishing apparently they love cooked meat......am enjoying your videos :)😊
Where do u get those nets?
Hi mate most good tackle stores should be able to get them in.
gday mate beauties any sanga's on the go this time😁
Hahaha Bo sammich this time mate. LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Yabbo!
Are you the national tiles voiceover guy?
Hellllooooooooo Frank walkerrrrrrrr
I miss crowded in our Creek The city is moving closer They built a bunch of houses And funneled all the water off the houses off the asphalt into our little Creek and destroyed all the wildlife We can't build anything on that part of the property because it's a water refuge They can go ahead Destroy everything and it's OK Nice crowded though
Hey mate that's really sad. That's progress.... apparently..
@@robbiefishing Yeah I'm sad There used to be some nice ones in there Not quite as big as yours Boil them up With a little bit of pickling spice Oh well what's Done is done

How do they taste?
Hi Guy, they are amazing. U actually cooked some in a recent video about 2 weeks ago.
Try rejuvenating the bait with some Pro Cure scent.
Thanks mate, sounds like a great idea.
@@robbiefishing I would try the mullet flavour.
Good 2 C I use 2 love yabbying
The best bait honestly is carrot or galah
I can imagine galah would be good but I suspect there could be legal ramifications with using it as yabby bait. LOL
@@robbiefishing im sure 1 million grain farmers will disagree
I worked it out as a kid driving to the farm would always grab a fresh roadkill and chuck it on the ute as bait on the way
Galah was best followed by other parrots roo wallaby rabbit then mutton bones
Keeping them as pets over the years their favorit food was carrot
Hey mate I saw you at Wang dump.
Tried dating hello. Can you teach us how to catch fish in fresh water we only have caught fish on the coast
