Always understand and research any natural resource you consume including wild sources of food. If you’re going to harvest from it make sure it’s being done in a sustainable way otherwise you’ll wipe out that resource. With yabbies find out what habitat they like, what they feed on, and how they reproduce and take steps to increase what they need to thrive and reproduce so you can continue to harvest them while maintaining a healthy population.
I was asked to go out and drown some yabbie nets on a farm dam with a mate and his kids last weekend. I said that there was no point as Robbie always says they shut down after big rain ……… and then you post this 🙄 I’m sticking with counting redfin stripes 😜 Thanks for sharing Love your work Healthy habits
Some decent sized ones. How often do you keep them as bait? Thanks in advance for your reply and hope you hand your family had a great time on your holiday.
Thanks Larry. When I do tgis type of yabbying I rarely keep them for bait. When I need yabbying bait I have a couple of dams that I can go to and quickly catch a heaps of small yabbies.
Great session robbie roo sorry I was late for the video I was still at work with mum. for the November mail time I’m thinking of carving you a wooden trout and I’ll also be doing some drawings
Robbie, where can I get these open top yabby nets? My local BCF in Grafton NSW doesn't carry them and I'd prefer to use them than the old opera house style net!
Hi mate, do you have a complete angler in your area? They may be worth a try. I got mine from Victorian Fisheries when they ran their operators nets swap over scheme.
the slow mo of the yabbies falling and the intro Robbie, well done sir
Haha thabk you so much mate.
Haha that intro was Zakk Wilde! Good to see the yabbies coming out to play
Haha Thanks mate.
Loved the end and the music. It brought a tear to my eye seeing the lovely yabbies going home. I was licking my lips.
In those conditions put the nets in the sun and a bit shallower, as these areas will be a bit warmer. Especially when the fresh water cools the dam.
Thanks for the great tip mate.
At least you KNOW they're there!
Absolitely, and I WILL be going back.
There's potential at least!
My young boy partially liked the slowmo release of the yabbies, he made all the sound affects over the music it was great 😂
Haha fantastic. Making kids smile is the best.

Hahahaha that's funny. I reckon too much fresh water in a dam definitely slows them down though.
Thanks for video, I enjoyed the show. The yabbies was pretty small compared to the ones you had caught before. Take care and God bless.
Thank you so much Becky. 🙏

Good decision, 7 are not worth taking home, you need at least 12 just too make a couple of sanga's or rolls. 😃
Haha yep I agree

Thanks heaps mate. 👍
Gotta love yabby videos
Thanks heaps mate. 👍
I have Bogs as well but I found some called the Muckmasters that use the same type of build but they a longer leg. Could be worth a look?
Thanks mate. I absolutely love my bogs. When the time comes to replace them I will be looking for taller ones so thanks for the heads up.
Do you ever do a combination of strings and nets (constant action)?
Occasionally I do mate.

Is it true we can't use those nets for Crays? Oops last year lol
Yep. Haha The crays get stuck in them. I'm not sure about your crays but it is true for Murray Crays I know that much.
@@robbiefishing I think all cray laws are the same except season times. Thanks mate
