    Another great review :)
    I love my Diesel GT-Line, it uses 7.6L/100kms and the Torque at over 400nm it is so effortless to drive. I only bought it a few weeks ago and had no interest in the Hybrid as its only front wheel drive and doesn't have the torque of the diesel. Apart from Kia Connect and wireless CarPlay there isn't really anything else the newer infotainment software offers, mostly just a reskin. I wasn't bothered waiting for the facelift Sportage either as its still 12 months away and It seems its going to look similar to the new Sorento which Im not much of a fan of tbh. The pre-facelift Sorento was the better looking vehicle imo.

There was no room for the tools and Tyre because the battery took up all the room. If you put the Tyre into the back, there was little room for any other luggage.

      maybe not so much as expected. El motor benefits in a petrol engine is at low revs in the city at stop start traffic where petrol engine consumption jumps considerably (even with built in stop/start function) . On the other hand diesel has already higher torque on low revs so el. motor has not much to contribute to the consumption level on diesel platform. On higher revs el motor doesn't do much to either platform for the consumption. Maybe I am wrong any engineer can correct me, this is just my opinion.

    • @acde9355
      @acde9355 Před měsícem +2

      The DPF/GPF for diesel and petrol engines, respectively, don't work well with hybrid powertrains since hybrid engines usually have a lower exhaust temperature. Conventional engines typically have enough temperature for the DPF or GPF to self-clean because they "waste" enough energy to heat up the DPF or GPF. The hybrid powertrain is to kill this type of energy waste to save fuel, meaning the "waste heat" may not be enough for the DPF or GPF to work properly. This problem has already caused disputes and recalls in China with Toyota Hybrid cars.

      There are diesel hybrid trucks.

    • @acde9355
      @acde9355 Před měsícem

      @@jerrymyahzcat Yes, but still very few. Hybrid buses are more often seen, but it is said that their fuel efficiency is not as optimised as people expected from the lab test. Heavy vehicles must use a diesel or natural gas engine, and they usually have a higher exhaust temperature, making the diesel hybrid a possible solution. But small cars/SUVs and utes are just different.

    The RAV4 (and RAV4 hybrid) is rubbish anyway so I don’t know why anyone would wait for it.
    The new X-Trail isn’t a hybrid. It’s ePower. The engine can’t power the wheels - it’s only used to generate electricity - the car is fully EV powered (but not a full BEV) but the engine charges the batteries.
    To be a hybrid there needs to be both ICE and EV driving the wheels.
    Never buy any Kia below GT-Line spec.
    Hyundai claims the fuel economy figures??? Surely you mean Kia?
    And why does the engine icon look like a jack-o-lantern or a demon?
    The 80-120 test needs to be done from cruising at 80 not on the run up to 100. It’s supposed to represent pulling out at 80 to pass.

      RAV-4 hybrid cannot be rubbish, it is the top seller in this sector. Your personal opinion does not make it fact!

    • @Brian-jb2gv

      The RAV4 won car of the year for 2 years in a row. It's also the top selling car in this segment by far and one of the top selling cars globally for the last few years. So clearly you are wrong.

      @@Richard-sl8we also top selling doesn’t make it good. Lots of people buy rubbish. The Corolla was top selling for 17years in New Zealand. It was never very good.

    • @jerrymyahzcat
      @jerrymyahzcat Před měsícem

      @@Brian-jb2gv no clearly people are dumb and buy lame vehicles. There is nothing in your answer to indicate that it’s actually any good. Its bland. The driveline is crap. It’s rubbish off-road. The list goes on.
      Just because it’s car of the year only indicates that people (not usually consumers) voted it that way.
      Very often the cheapest of a category is the best seller even though it’s junk.

    So quickish, but easily outpaced by the 6.5sec Nissan X-Trail E:Power AWD. However, while the Kia/Hyundai 4 cylinder 1.6T is not the most reliable engine, it should on average do better than the problematic Nissan 3 cylinder 1.5T in the E:Power.
