  • Welcome everyone to my review of the new Kia Sportage Hybrid.
    The Kia Sportage has been a family favourite for 30 years by providing families with a practical, rugged SUV that was reasonably priced. But as the years went on and the Sportage reached its 3rd generation, that's when the Sportage really caught the eye of new buyers with its stylish looks and focus on ride and handling.
    Now in its fifth generation, this new Sportage offers buyers great practicality and frugality in a very stylish package.
    Went to know more? Then watch and enjoy!

    Nice review you mentioned a few things about the rain that no one else has in their reviews and believe me I know as I have watched just about all of them on youtube. I have the GT Line S HEV on order now but not got a delivery date as yet. Would have liked a video showing the head lights at night as they do look a little small for the car. Too late now though I just loved how it drove and the comfort provided and of course all the tech so fingers crossed on the lights. Better than my VW Tiguan R Line.

    A very thorough review 👍. I note you kept saying it’s not a ‘sporty’ SUV, but you wouldn’t think so by the way you were throwing it through the corners😂. I’ve had my GTLine-S for 12 months now and it’s just as sporty as my previous 2.0 Tsi Tiguan. There’s also a ‘Dynamic display’ for the dash which I like to use as it gives a display that’s pictoral and reflects the weather outside and at night. I too am ‘big boned’ or as a friend said once ‘nutritionally challenged’, and I agree that the seats are extremely comfortable for the ‘larger framed person. There is loads of electronical wizardry, some of which does take some learning, especially as the manual explanations leave a lot to be desired. I would highly recommend the Sportage.

    Don't forget, if you go for the GT Line 'S' the list price will be over £40k so you'll be paying £390 per year on top of your road tax, for years 2 to 6... That's £1950 extra... That's after you've spent approx £5k more for the GT Line 'S'.... Shame no one ever mentions that....!!

      I believe you can get the gt line s with the MH 156bhp engine for sub £40k new, thus avoiding the higher ved rate.
      Alternatively, the government can step forward and increase this value to £50k or £60k as car prices have increased so dramatically in recent years that even a middle of the line family SUV breaches the threshold of "luxury car tax".

    • @carlfisher5195
      @carlfisher5195 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@justjosh11Josh, the lux tax works on the ‘list price’ NOT on any discounted price you may be offered… Let’s see how long it takes the government to raise the threshold…. Not any time soon matey..!!! It’s a dirty tax..!!

      @justjosh11 Před 4 měsíci

      @@carlfisher5195 of that I am well aware, I've just finished paying it as my car is 6 years old and it's list price was an inflated £47k even though I bought it 6 months old at £25k!!
      Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge paying it for my car as the landscape was different 5/6years ago, but now there is no reasonable excuse really.

    I have had the 2015 model from new so decided to change to the hybrid. So why because my Sportage without any doubt is the best car I have ever owned. I have not had a single problem with it ever! It is reliable and still looks as good as the day I got it but I do look after my cars. It get serviced on a regular basis and I have a yearly check done too. When I went to my dealer in France I was offered a part exchange offer that only a fool would refuse and on top of that as it was a red carpet day and I had an invitation they knocked another chunk off the price. I must admit I should have got the car in August but I received a phone call to say I ordered a 2023 model but will now get the upgraded 2024 model for the same price. When I test drove the car which is the same as the one I ordered. How do I say this it was magnificent. It handled like a dream drove like a dream and I didn't want to give it back. One big problem though how do I say goodbye to my old Sportage she has been such a friend and has served me well if I could afford to I would keep her. My Friend down the road bought a new car and couldn't part with his old Sportage and did indeed keep it he said he could not bear to part with it. He has been asked to sell it but has refused the offers. So thank you Kia for the Sportage a wonderful, wonderful car.

    Nice review. Though there are few things I'd like to know, mostly in numbers and are hard to find especially for short EU market version:
    a) min and max distance of rear seat legroom;
    b) what is the depth of boot area measured from back to rear seat? (Those liters do not tell actually anything in real life use :D);
    c) what is the max height of open hatch measured from ground? Could taller people stand under there as well without need to take Gollum posture?
    d) how this seat belt which is coming from ceiling for middle row of rear seat looks like when in use? Would it disturb person sitting next to it? It's kind of different with 40:20:40 setup compared to 40:60 where it comes from seat itself.

    I’ve got the Tucson hybrid in Ultimate trim and it’s the best car I’ve ever had. It’s so refined and a breeze to drive. The electric means that you can take off like poo off a greased shovel despite it being a huge lump of car, especially satisfying after covertly switching it to sport mode at traffic lights 😏 I prefer the front styling of my Tucson but the rear stying of this Sportage.

    How do the cooled seats work? Is it just a fan moving the general air through the seat or does the seat have a dedicated air con outlet which it blows through the seat?
