  • We gave random strangers Pinoy sisig to try for the first time ever! This was these Americans’ first time trying Filipino food, and they absolutely loved it! Thank you guys so much for the recommendation to give people this awesome Pinoy food to try!
A big thanks to Mama Fina’s in the East Village of NYC for making the sizzling pork sisig (sisig babi) and packaging it up beautifully for us so these people from around the world were able to try.

I recently went to the Phillippines and had sisig, I couldn't stop eating it! The sisig I had was very different than this though. There was no lemon, and it was served with a raw egg cracked in the center of the dish. It was served on a skillet type dish and the food was still very hot, so by the time you mix the egg up with the pork, the egg is already cooked enough to eat. Very delicious!
Also everyone there (I was in Cebu) pronounced it SIS-ig, not SEE-sig. But there are many different dialects in the Phillippines, so I guess it's possible they pronounce it the way you did on other islands.
