  • For those of you who like long videos and cactus shop tours, I hope you enjoy this one!
B & B Apache cactus is family based business located in Apache Junction, AZ. They are the makers of the cactus dish gardens that you can find at many gift shops around Arizona. What many people may not know is that they have a retail space in Apache Junction where you can purchase plants, pottery, and landscape decorations. This video focuses on their shaded outdoor retail space with their 2-6 inch potted plants. I have purchased many plants from them, including some beloved treasures.

Hey Jenny!!! I just watched this video for about the 3rd time in 6 months!! I love ALL ur videos, especially when u r shopping for cactuses! I find it very relaxing to me so Thank u for keeping it calm & even toned and pleasant lol... Although I was born & raised in the crazy city & state of Houston, TX, about 30 yrs ago, I moved out to East TX in the Boonies!! So I don't get to just GET OUT & GO whenever I want and we certainly don't have any nurseries within hours & hours drive. I have to do ALL my shopping online for cactuses which really SUCKS cuz I never REALLY know what I'm getting!! But at last count, I had about 200 cactuses so I'm well on my way!!! I have also been following along with ur "Lazy way to grow cactus..." Videos and will be attempting for my 1st time TODAY to sow my own seeds using A LOT of ur same methods!!! I'll let u know how it goes!! Anyways, I just wanna say, THANK YOU 4 all ur videos and getting to do what some of us don't get to do as easily!! We can live vicariously through u LOL!!! Thanks for Learning so some of us can learn from U!! I have learned an awful lot from u as well bc this is very new to me as ive only been infected with the cactus fever about a year ago!! So, keep up the great work!!! Go find us another show to go to soon pls!!! Sincerely, Anita

Gosh Anita, reading your comment brings so much warmth to my CZcams video making heart! It makes it all worth it! Since I have been terrible about keeping up with comments and a month has passed by since you left me this wonderful message, how did your cactus seed sowing go?? Did you get some to come up??
Aren't we lucky to live in the age of online cactus shopping? LOL! Which shops do you tend to order from the most?

@@cookiescacti oh WOW 😲‼️‼️‼️ I actually had a reply from 1 of the Cactus goddesses!!!YeYyyy!!! I am so star stuck!!! 💫 Haha, no really,,, I am !!! LOL 😊 Thanks for replying!!! Indeed I meant every word I said and I have been having such a great time "playing" with all my cactuses recently!!! But, Guess what, Jenny!!! I sowed approximately 40-60'ish of the seeds lazily that I told u about, right?? Nothing too fancy. Some Mammillaria Hahnianas that I had pollinated myself, and it's going on about 3 months now and I have at least 20-30 lazy seedlings!!! So far (KNOCKS ON WOOD) no rot, no mold, looks pretty good!! I'm just nervous about introducing them to the air a little at a time (I did the plastic baggie method) So I'm feeling Really proud and excited but nervous and guess what I'd like to try next?!! U know it--- Grafting!!!; Hahaha!!! U did a Great job in that video btw! Very, VERY impressive!!! WOW! I want to try!!! To answer ur question tho, I don't really have any special Go-to places for online cactus shopping. Just eBay, maybe planet desert or mountain crest. But just recently I made a profile on Instagram as I hear lots of folks doing trades and buying through there so I'm trying to get it all figured out now & meet some folks .... besides, I don't believe I'm gonna want 40 Mammillaria Hahnianas all to myself!!! Hahaha,,,, I don't recall if u ever told the story B4 on one of ur vids but how exactly did u become so in love with cactuses urself?? Did something specific happen or something grab at ya?? I'm curious!! I'll bet it's a neat story!! Thanks again for all u do and for teaching us all and taking us on shows, nurseries & the tips & tricks and etc!! U truly seem like a Really nice, neat lady and ur cactuses r lucky to have U‼️😊✌️U take good, good care!!!! 💥PS Pls give Cookie a HUG from me!!! How's she doing lately?? Bless her heart,,, I hate to see/ know she's got the yucky health probs. 😔

Thanks again for another wonderful comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour 😊 It can fall just below freezing for short periods of time during the coldest days in the winter, although it doesn't last long, like in the hours range. The southwest definitely has the advantage for growing cactus (and thank goodness there are people driven to grow professionally, I can't imagine it being an easy business). Are there some cool cactus nurseries or shops in Canada, Daniel?

That's why it's good to shop around - hopefully my videos give people a sense of different prices at different nurseries.
