  • 5 things you should know about heart health
    1. Good fat comes from food cooked at home using traditional practices.
    2. Air frying is not better than deep frying. Cook in ghee or cold pressed oil of your region.
    3. Exercise is the best drug for your heart. Include strength training in your weekly plan.
    4. Smoking / alcohol harms your heart
    5. The 3 Ps which are bad for your heart - packaged food, pollution and bad city planning

    Summary - 1.regular indian cooking fats such as ghee, nuts, coconut. For oil use cold pressed oil which is based on your region . 2. Air frying is not better than deep frying. eating deep fried items, helps satiety and we eat less or eat as required. 3. exercise is the most underutilized drug. dont wait for heart attacks or some event to start exercises. daily 30 mins, weekly 150 mins. one time strength training. regularly exercise will control BP, cholesterol etc. 4. smoking and alcohol is bad for help. that's it. Smoking kills, no alcohol is good for health. 5. 3p's, pollution, processed food, avoid chips, colas, dont eat things that get cooked in 2 mins, no packaged juices. no packaged food. Eat home food. exercise is the best underutilized drug.

    Rujuta Ma'am I have been following you for 6 years...you have completely changed my lifestyle...Just a request Ma'am could you please guide regarding organic & inorganic food...whether it's pulses,grains,oil or vegetables..does this really matter for good health or these are only for marketing statistics ???

      as per her views in few interviews she said try to use pulses, grains,oil or vegetables which are grown by natural way means these should be grown by using natural sources of fertilizers like garlic, turmeric etc....and nothing can be perfectly organic....she believes diet or food should be sustainable

    Footpaths! This point is so true. One tends to opt for a vehicle in absence of footpaths for walking. A must for integrating walking in your routine and not merely during exercise.

    Very nice information. But some things I would would like to add are Walking is always good for health, not necessarily heavy exercise. Alcohol in moderation is good for heart and health which has been proved. Excessive sugar and salt is always bad for health.

    All your videos are very very informative. I think all your videos are for in general, if you can give break up (age wise) especially for seniors. eg. Is it necessary for seniors to join gym? Is it okay, if seniors walk for 30 minutes? In short, please, if possible differentiate between seniors and general public.
