I use moonlight 100% of the time with a headless gaming PC - I can game anywhere. This news SUCKS, hoping disabling GFE auto updates will help out for a bit. Sunshine doesn’t work on even half the platforms yet, but hoping that is a success soon!
Moonlight is why I have multiple pc's with headless displays in my basement. Ethernet to every shield tv box. I tested sunshine with moonlight on my shield and it does work, but I will use geforce experience until the bitter end. By that time, sunshine should be much improved. I'm still waiting on the tech news headline: "Sony is working backwards compatibility for its PSVR2 to allow PSVR1 games to work fine, because they made a dumb mistake."
Probably easier for devs to just release a PSVR2 update for their games. Consider how different the old tracking system and stuff was. They've probably made enough big changes under the hood that trying to make a one size fits all solution for the older PSVR titles is a literal nightmare.

Sharing passwords is definitely a TOS/EULA breach but you have to ask why is it specifically a crime and not just a civil matter? Obviously this was done to appease companies like Netflix so they will play ball down the line, but it is a problematic change.
I'm guessing it's covered under the computer misuse act, accessing an online account without permission. While you may have the account holders permission, you don't have the permission of Netflix. It really should be a civil matter though.
My issue is that it would be significantly difficult to uphold any charges since (at least as far as I would guess-) they would have to prove the user shared the password and didn't just login themselves. Obviously a login hundreds of miles away is one thing. But if my aunt logs in 2 miles down the road it's another story. Depends on the specific wording of the legal bs involved but I just don't see this as being anything other than a best case scenario of wasting peoples time/resources and worst case an easy money grab by netflix since it'll probably end up being a fine that you have to dispute and thus are on the short end of the stick...
I don't understand how Nvidia can turn off a feature that uses exclusively my own local hardware. I own the computer, GPU, Shield, and TV. It's worked since I bought the Shield. They could just... not brick it?
It boggles my mind too
They can't even justify it by claiming it's to cut on their server costs
This is blatantly a pure anti consumer move

Sunshine on AMD is also quite a bump up from using steam link.
Many smart TVs also have moonlight through homebrew or sideloading. Your tv model may vary, but steam link is less available.
Overall, it's kinda dumb that Nvidia would kill off a niche but class-leading product.
That's because of all the proprietary dependencies thanks to Nvidia. No amount of open source can replace Nvidia software; only with AMD are more malleable to open source even if the software are abandoned, as they are more accessible and in turn easier to reverse engineer.
There is a reason AMD has a stronger hold in Linux.
@@Aereto Steam link is not open source. If you're making the point that AMD is better than Nvidia because of open-source drivers, I'm sorry to say that the binary blobs are still closed source.
The point I was making is that Nvidia Gamestream is by far the nicest option for streaming games to mobile devices and TVs. Sunshine is the future of Gamestream, providing for all GPU makes. It replaces the proprietary Gamestream tech built into Geforce Experience, which is good enough. This development has nothing to do with AMD or Intel.

That lawyer being barred from a show thing? Yeah, depends on where you live. There are countries that have laws saying a provider _can't_ refuse a service if you have money and are willing to pay. They can only refuse if someone is aggressive or shops can refuse things like alcohol to drunk and underage people. Anything else, refusal without valid reason is illegal and will land you a huge fine.
