I think we can all agree that Microsoft needs to make a Chat GPT powered Clippy.
BonziGPT
An AI that makes paper clips. I feel like i've heard that one before.
Clippy returns and he's more based than ever
"I see you're trying to write a letter."
"Can I do literally all of that for you?"
I cannot tell you how audibly I gasped at this idea. That. Would. Be. The best
Part of me actually kinda hopes ChatGPT/AI continues to upend schooling, because it will eventually get to a point where it will force curriculum to have to be about actual understanding of information and not just memorization and standardized testing that then is immediately forgotten as soon as the test is over/you're out of school.
You can’t make people understand. Some people won’t, no matter how hard you try. At least memorization works for everyone.
@@WalnutOW If they just forget the information after, then it didn't work. Memorization fails for everyone.
how exactly it will eventually get to a point where it will force curriculum to have to be about actual understanding of information?
please elaborate.
I don't understand your connection between ChatGPT and improving curriculum. imo ChatGPT is more damaging to curriculum that promotes understanding over memorization because it can write things for you, ergo you don't have to actually think about topics deeply to answer questions
@@L33TH4XM8 the OP seems to have fallen for the accelerationist's fallacy, thinking that making it harder to distinguish students who put in the work and those that typed a prompt into ChatGPT will somehow improve things.
Step 1: AI makes everyone's lives worse.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Everyone lived happily ever after.
android didn't remove the audio jack, device manufacturers did

@@arinekevins8638 Depend on if the device use the same frequencies as wifi or 4G and the likes, but i would agree
Yeah, but I think when he said that he just meant "Android" opposed to "Apple", which is not accurate at all but understandable.
I fooled around with chat gpt 3 for a while today, asked it to do a script for blender that makes a hallway, it made a long cube, he didn't even deleted the default one (sin).
But when I asked it to solve one of my old physics problem, it solved the problem with REALLY accessible instructions (I'm good at physics, so I knew if something was wrong) and it blew me away.
The best part is that English is not my first lenguaje, so, I asked it to highlight all my mistakes during the conversation, valuate my level and give me recommendations, "he" gave me pretty good tips, it understands Spanish too!!!!

In my opinion, the Lenovo Twist makes me believe that it is better to have each device as a separate, individual item because each device can then focus on a specific task more efficiently. This is different from comparing a PC to a laptop, as both are still relatively compact even when they are separate items.
This is something I fully realized when I got a Surface Book, it’s a bad laptop and a bad tablet that I bought instead of getting a good laptop and separate good tablet.
yes, because it was better when TV's, Stereos, Typewriters, gaming consoles, movie players, encyclopedias, etc... were all separate, individual items... you know, because each device was focused on specific tasks....
The great thing about e-ink is battery life. I leave mine next to my bed and only charge it once a week. But as soon as you add a notebook to it, one of the main benefits is gone.
Can't wait to see the Windows 11 integration of ChatGPT causing authors of graphic content to lose their Windows 365 license because ChatGPT considers their writing to be obscene. One step closer to a hellscape!

_"NYC Bans Students and Teachers from using ChatGPT"_ Yeah, good luck with that, Luddites. That's like trying to ban students from using a calculator on their maths homework.
Eventually someone will realize education and testing needs to change dramatically... or we can just have everyone getting A's without knowing anything. Up to them.
Remember the days when teachers tried to do this
Okay, should we allow kindergarten students to use calculators to calculate 1 + 1 = 2? don't you see that it is clearly pointless to test their basic arithmetic skills if allowing them to use a calculator ?. In other situations, allowing them to use a calculator is not meant to measure their calculation abilities, but rather to help them understand concepts such as definitions, formulas, and problem-solving techniques. You probably don't understand what the point of doing homework is. 40 likes? people here are more stupid than I imagine.
@@DucPham-nb7xm im just glad if everyone from kindergarten can read and write. even that's an achievement in many top-tier western world countries. still not everyone does in Finland for example, and it was #1 in Pisa scores a few years back.
we still have people that go through basic mandatory education without learning to properly read and write. and we were #1 in Pisa score in 2020.
"calculator is ..to help them understand concepts"
uh, a calculator does not help you understand concepts, it just makes you type things, by the way. you can totally just mechanically type into a calculator without understanding anything, that's how I did my math.
just follow an example, and mechanically type the formula and it gave me an answer. I didn't understand anything.
it's not like if you have more homework the more you automatically understand the subject. Finland is famous for not having a lot of homework, and 15-minute recesses every 45 minutes because that's scientifically the maximum children can concentrate on a subject. versus someplace like Spain, where kids don't get out the whole day, the volume is loud, and one of the worst Pisa scores in eu.
if you don't get it, it doesn't help that you are just given more homework on the material you don't understand! all he or she will do is mechanically copy and paste the same formulaic answer, like in math, without understanding why he or she is doing it, what's happening.
You don't understand the concept of homework.
it's not meant to punish the children for not knowing, so he or she goes home and fills in the asked questions by googling answers.
because she never understood it when it was taught, he or she still doesn't get it.
so you have another day with homework full of right answers... and low pisa scores overall in the nation.
I used Grammarly to automatically fix all my typos in a few seconds.
if I checked it manually, it would've taken me probably 30 minutes or more.

I loved the concept of clamshell tablet with an LCD on one half and E ink on the other half with the YogaBook where the keyboard was replaced with a wacom pen slate with some e-ink capabilities
I dont know if i'll like the two concepts combined, because the reason i like the swivel screens is that you can have a slate tablet, swivel it around to use as a laptop, and then most importantly, close the laptop to protect the screen, thats hard to do when both sides of the clamshell lid is a screen

Magnetic coupling for wireless charging was a Palm thing first on the Pre phones. Or at least the earliest example I can think of. Next up was the Nexus 4 a couple years later. So like with all good ideas on either an Android or Apple, it was lifted from a smaller company that did it way before they could steal it and take credit.
Oh yeah, and Apple didn't drop the headphone jack first, Motorola did with the Moto Z.
Thank you, I was about to write this
Imagine taking 5 years to "discover" that "according to Apple, magnets can hold things in place."

That’s a really good thought to end the short, good reference
Riley saying "I got Afeela" was underrated.
im glad you guys put that thing about the PS5 being upright being a problem. I had my PS5 for just over a year (enough to be out of warranty) until it died. when I went to a repair shop it was apparently a CPU issue lots of other people had that made it so the console shut down when playing PS5 specific games. 260 USD later and its fixed for about a month but its always been upright and I bet thats why. going to keep it flat from now on
That really sucks but seems like the usual problems a small percentage of consoles experience. What really sucks is the one year warranty like wtf
That’s terrible. In Australia that would still have been covered under consumer protections, which are separate from warranties. A company can’t just give you a warranty for 12 months and forget about it. A reasonable consumer would expect a PS5 to last at least 3-4 years, therefore Sony would be forced to repair it. I’ve had ram replaced after 2 years by asking the retailer to comply with our consumer protections, but if they refuse, we also have an Ombudsman that will speak to them on your behalf and force compliance.
@@StrewthSeeker sadly I don't think thats an option for me in the USA. I got in contact with them to try and get a refund due to the cause of the system failure (I got the system back from the repair 2 weeks ago) and they say the liquid metal thing is a "rumor" unless its directly mentioned by sony, which I doubt they will acknowledge and because my repair is done, I would not be able to get my money back. the person said this was the same as the Cyberpunk 2077 situation. Sony has lost my trust throughout this situation and I dont see myself buying a PS6 in the future due to how good Microsoft customer service is and the fact you can refund games bascially no questions asked on Xbox
Can't wait for virtual assistants (siri, google assistant, alexa, etc.) to merge with ai similar to chatgpt... once it's able to actually search live web and interact with the os for settings, typing, etc. it'll get even more crazy. I just hopped into the ChatGPT hypetrain last week after being septic about it for a month. If they do this well, Bing might actually become something people actively want to use
Right up to the moment people realise ChatGPT is more prudish than an Alabama Pastor and it's impossible to look up the location of grease nipples on any car using Bing. Meanwhile Word deletes half your documents for being inappropriate.
Lol no
*skeptic
And you can get off the train now, as ChatGPT has started being nerfed into stupidity with things like it being banned from saying anything good about ICE (internal combustion engines) even though there's many, like power density or refueling speed. I lean towards electric but it's pathetic having to censor the good points of the other side. As long as they have to do things like this, it's not really "AI".
explain how it would make Bing good
The better question being: "Should Microsoft use/integrate OpenAI into Windows to help improve both performance and stability into the OS?" . At the moment, mixing AutoHotKey, ChatGPT and a Home Assistant device, is the closest thing we'll ever have to JARVIS from the Marvel movies. But this (and other AI topics) also means there's a new subject to debate about the difference between "aided assistance" and "delegation".

To be honest ChatGPT is like a lazy man's search engine for simple advice on topics you don't want to Google and read thru. But if you need more detailed advice and information, it can also help you narrow down on a few topics as depicted in the bullet points provided by ChatGPT. So, in a way, it's a great tool to guide you in the right direction but not an actual solution to your problems.

I really really want a password security AI. It would scrape websites for all types of published data leaks it then changes ur passwords on anything effected. You would just get updates via a app for your current password information. It could also be set to force reset all passwords monthly ect. No need for a user to add a website or save one ect. You would just manually exclude what passwords should never change. It’s currently possible but I don’t think it’s been done yet
Just the other day my sister's phone told her that her password had been compromised. So it appears Chrome already has a list of all your passwords and checks to see if they've been posted elsewhere.
