Just got home from work. This has put a smile on my face. Thanks
(You aren't wrong about the talking....😂)
You got it brother, this one's for you!
@@EmbraceTheSuck21This was years before The Stone Roses
Q: Which band deserves a lot much success than they had?
A: This band. Period. :)
Pretty sure that's the first time I see someone react to The Chamelons. Awesome! Don't Fall, Swamp Thing, Monkeyland, ... Man, what a catalogue.
Great response. No wonder I feel like I'm floating on air!
Amazing song and band. They come from the next town to me called Middleton north of Manchester 😀😀
Fantastic song & band!! The Chameleons are among one of the crowning jewels when it comes to 80s post-punk! “Second Skin” is my personal #1 favorite from them! So pumped you guys get them! Another close contender of The Chameleons is The Sound. The Sound is not only my favorite band of the 80s but my favorite band of all-time… Seriously check them out if you’re interested!
This Heat and The Pop Group are the best post-punk bands. Make sure you get to hear them. That Contact The fact song by The Sound is classic though, yh. Sounds so familiar for some reason.
This is such a great band, they were influential on Noel Gallagher. Their album Strange Times Noel loves and was an early influence on him. Defintely check out On the Beach or Perfume Garden. Great stuff
I realy love "Perfume Garden". Such a melodical delicacy
I went to see the Chameleons in 1983 in an upstairs room above a steak restaurant. The sound blew my mind. Very much like in this video - amazing for 1983. There were only a few people there and my thought was that the people downstairs eating steak and chips should be upstairs for sure. Reg was wearing the same red jumper as in this video - maybe it was his best one!
Love that you guys are digging this INCREDIBLE band... you should definitely hit: IN SHREDS (a rip-roaring concert closer), "TEARS" (both acoustic AND electric versions are great), "LOOKING INWARDLY" "HERE TODAY" (the haunting song about John Lennon's death told from his perspective)... Cheers!
Absolutely
I was at that gig ❤ and many many more 🙏
I have the vinyl sleeve of The Chameleons Script of the bridge HAND SIGNED by Mark Burgess (bassist/vocalist) and Reginald Smithies (guitarist).
The album which includes Second Skin [a masterpiece of a song] and many other phenomenal tracks 👣, I was actually listening to Script on my cd player whilst walking to the Job Centre yesterday! never ages. I thoroughly recommend you delve deeper into the lp now.

I played some Chameleons to a friend and he was really shook up and said it was a spiritual experience.
The bassist and lead singer of The Chameleons, Mark Burgess, was in Kensington, MD last June for a private concert. It was sponsored by Chameleons lover, Crooked Beats Records in Alexandria, Va and will be out on video shortly. Nonetheless, amazing band and their best song ever
Anything from Script of the Bridge will blow you away 😊
Holy Moly - missed this one too....shoot, should be online more.....great one guys
Love that you are following a band like The Chameleons I applaud the person pushing you down this rabbit hole. This reminds me of my favourite old underground nightclub Le Phono in Leeds. So many people have a narrow view if 80s music when really in the early part pre 1985 especially in the UK music was already pushing boundaries well before the Stone Roses and other bands your familiar with. Btw if you are looking for so much dry ice you don't know where the band are checkout the original Sisters of mercy lineup from this time 🤣
The Chameleons are so cool...They are still on stage...Saw them 3 times live.....
Listened to this one more than 250 times last year per Spotify after coming across it out of nowhere. Like the recording more than this version
The best yet,brilliant band
I saw them live, back in the 80s - totally underrated.
You have to listen to „Killing Joke“ also totally underrated but more influential to hard rock music.
The Rolling Stone called them tha favorite band of all favorite bands.
And Dave Grohl once said: everytime he visit Curt Kobain, there was Killing Joke on the turntable. 😎
Or ask Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Tool etc.
They were the band other musicians listened to, unfortunately more so than the general public got to. Their influence across multiple musical genres and generations is phenomenal.
There was no smoke they just blended into the background that's how they got their name lol
Would love to see what you think of my favourite pop rock band, Terrorvision. They're full of energy. Try their hit song Oblivion or American TV first.
Couldn't agree more. Elevator living my next.
No wonder i feel like im floating on air. Aaagggghhh
"Halfman-Halfbiscuit", "Therapy?" And "The Divine Comedy" 3 bands I would love to see you cover.
Therapy were totaly epic
@@davephilpotphilpot9867 still are. They are touring this year
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry: Talk About the Weather.
The sun came out in London today! 🤣
I'm so soaked to the skin.. after so much rain 😅
Don't Fall is your next port of call
Studio version is even better 😉
Where’s IAN DURY then????🏴🏴
Sadly he died several years ago 😅
The chameleons were interpol before interpol was Interpol
Keyboard player for Ian Dury and The Blockheads (Mickey Gallagher) did a few gigs with me in one of my bands back in 2003. Great keys player
Guys, Eurovision in Liverpool is in 2 and a bit weeks: my recommendation is to go in on Liverpool 😂 and Eurovision hahah
But I see you have never done the lightning seeds except three lions
That’s the most famous England football song of all time so how bad could they be guys?! 😂
Lightning seeds sugar coated iceberg is so great
And you should do our last year Eurovision song - Sam Ryder - space man
He has amazing vocal range and I truly think it’s a great song
Greatest song no one’s ever heard 🤔 probably Is this the life by the Cardiacs
Yes the best song you’ve ever covered.
The Waterboys “Savage Earth Heart” live at Glastonbury ‘86 audio only but epic.
Yes
Instant upvote, no need to listen (although I will, obviously).
1983....you're late....😢
Please could you react to Morrissey - I Have Forgiven Jesus. What a name 🤣
Nothing wrong with my hearing, but I couldn't make out what he was saying, if lyrics on screen maybe better, wouldn't rush out to buy tickets, but if we all liked same stuff how boring it would be.
Not my thing but seeing ian dury commented is either sex and drugs and rock and roll or hit me with your rhythm stick 👍
Reasons to be cheerful!
1..2....3
no more inbetweeners?
🤔
Yes Ian Dury, it’s a lot better than this depressing Shite👍🏼🍻
💩🤬😡
Don't hold back 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, the studio recording is less depressing 👍
