11 LIES about Red Meat They Want You to Believe - 2024

  • Humans have been eating red meat for just as long as they have been breathing air, drinking water, and playing in the Sun. So, when an "expert" says red meat is unhealthy, they better bring some strong research to prove it. What happens in reality is the experts bring very weak research and use it to mislead you into thinking that too much red meat might cause something bad to happen to your health.

    I just had ultrasound on the joints in my hands, I was referred six months ago when my hands were swollen, red and painful with suspected arthritis. While waiting for test dates, I began keto and l've been carnivore for two months now.
    My inflammation has drastically reduced. During the ultrasound, I was asked about my diet. They found one joint with inflammation, and I was told that this is because I was eating TOO MUCH red meat and that I should reduce this. I confidently replied by telling her that I have inflammation in ONLY one joint BECAUSE I've been eating red meat! She responded that red meat causes inflammation, and that I should eat a balanced diet. I asked for the source of her claim, and to explain what a balanced diet is? She didn't know the source, and told me that it's difficult to say what a balanced diet is. You could feel the atmosphere change instantly, despite me being respectful.

      I'm feeling the same way. People telling me that you have to eat fibre, eat the rainbow, need carbs (hospital diabetes dietician told me that I wasn't eating enough carbs and would lose muscle - I've proved her wrong), you shouldn't eat too much bacon etc etc etc. I'm listening to my body now. I've been low carb for 2.5 years and starting increasing the meat about 6 months ago. I'm noticing quite quickly when I've eaten something that makes my arthritis hurt. And when that happens it's makes that food much less appealing!

    Dr Berry - Thank you. I haven’t been able to drop the last 20 pounds of my twin baby weight since their birth in 2013. After only ONE month of just following your advice and not obsessing about calories and portion size and -
    1. Eating the best meat I can afford, including red meat, pork, chicken (and some shrimp and tuna thrown in)
    2. Eating only full fat dairy (as a compliment to a meal not the main thing) and
    3. Eating the green vegetables on your approved list with full fat homemade dressing -
    I have lost 11 lbs. No hunger. No cravings. Sleeping SO much better and no afternoon energy slumps. I’m Just eating what I love until full and happy. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel to not ONLY finally slimming down but even MORE- sleeping BETTER than I have in YEARS and having more energy than ever. I need energy and sleep since I homeschool two kiddos full-time and run an online business and podcast..!
    This way of eating is truly a revelation. My son is an 11 year Type One Diabetic and I have shown him your videos too. He has been switching to savory meat based breakfasts ( NO MORE oatmeal and smoothies!!) and his Dexcom CGM readings are so steady it’s incredible!! I tell ya, when I first showed him some of your Carnivore videos he wasn’t too sure, but after a few days he told me, “Dr. Berry seems like he’s onto something here about meat and glucose levels..” 😂😂

      @jenniferchristopherson , My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed with diabetes about a month ago. We just found out the past week that she’s type 2. Before all of the testing came back to confirm that they were treating her as a type 1. The endocrinologist thought there was no way she was a type 2. She got a Dexcom g7. Is your sons Dexcom accurate? We had been depending on it and going by it until the last one we put on last week. We started using the meter and comparing it and it’s consistently been 20-30 off or more. I’m not sure if it was user error or what.

      @@jond230 The Lion diet is nothing but beef, or meat from any animal with hooves and a chambered stomach, salt, and water/electrolytes. It's a cleansing diet that in about 90 days should clear all the sugar/toxins/crap out of your system and allow you to slowly reintroduce the Carnivore diet which adds bacon, butter, and eggs. Carbs are an absolute no go, as are plants, fruits, nuts, especially SUGAR. The first couple of weeks can be a bit tough which the electrolytes help with. You either go in to this diet committed, or don't go at all. Carbs are something you may try about a year down the road, if you're serious about taking control of your health. Sounds like your body is letting you know carbs are trash.

      I have been carnivore for just over three weeks and can already see the difference. I am sleeping a bit better and my pain is less severe than it was. I am amazed that the body can do so much healing in less than a month. My weight is normal, but at the high end of what is ideal for my body type, but I have still dropped a couple of pounds. I am eating two meals a day and loving it!

      @user-jn5pl3xf4r Před 12 dny

      I did carnivore for 3 months and it was amazing. But then when I hit the 4th month, I started doing long endurance sports like 2 hours walking, and an hour swimming. After a month my body finally could not take it anymore. I had heart palpitation, could not sleep for 2 days, my head felt like I was walking on the cloud. I thought I was going to have a heart attack or stroke, I went to ER and got two tubes of vitamins shots into my body, rest for 3 hours in ER bed, nurse took my EKG. I felt so weak. The EKG result came out and my heart is perfect! My body slowly recovering during those 3 hours. Doctor gave me a few vitamins and some medicines (I forgot the name, but those were for my digestions system). Doctor never told me what I had. She just said I needed to eat balance diet😢 I went home and rest for 2 days. And I felt good again. So my conclusion was I was running out of sugar, and I did long long long hours of endurance training on 99% carnivore diet! I probably have to intervere my diet with occasionally having carbs (like complex carbs or carbs from fruits such as carnivore Paul saladino does ?) if I am doing long endurance sports. Right now I am in a mesa again because after that insident I was forced to get back to normal standard diet (eat lots of carbs and junks food😮). I have now high uric acid on my blood, high LDL cholesterol and sometimes high blood pressure. So, I am going back to be carnivore again but with some adjustment as I love my endurance training.

    I'll give my observational. My parents grew up during the depression and ate just enough to stay alive. But after they were married and dad survived WWII, they worked hard but ate whatever they wanted and as much as tgey wanted. That includes red meat and bacon. The two of them would polish off an entire pound of bacon at a time. They never had cancer or heart attacks and they lived into their late 80's. Oh, that bacon fat fried up a lot of potatoes ❤

That food pyramid that suggests your main portion be bread and grains is whats causing people problems. Anytime I post anything about carnivore or ketovore she does everything she can to claim it doesn't work for everyone. OK. Fine. But this is the same woman who has had gastric bypass surgery that failed, her body now no longer can do what it was designed to do (right?), she still has diabetes, her hair is almost non existent, among other issues. She says no diet will heal her broken organs (I assume she's referring to her pancreas) which I said that isn't true, you can heal many organs with carnivore. Of course due to her bariatric surgery she now says meat makes her sick, especially beef. Oh, and she posted the other day complaining about her sciatia....specifically that she's lost weight and this isn't supposed to be happening. All I could do was shake my head because it's obvious that she is still full of inflammation which is a huge part of sciatica. Not always of course, but a lot in my own personal experience.
