Abstract Acrylic Painting Tutorial with Ashley Kunz

- Hi Friends! Thanks for checking out my video! In this video I will create an abstract painting using a variety of tools and mediums. I am using Liquitex Acrylic paints, inks and spray paint; Golden fluid acrylics and high flow acrylics; and metal leaf (gold) to create this painting. Some of the tools I am using is a Catalyst silicone wedge, Liquitex palette knives, brushes, a Speedball brayer and more!

Its great today that anybody can do this style of art. I think with this type of art the process of doing this and having fun is more important than the outcome. You dont have to be a Van Gogh or Rossetti all folks can do this which is great

Love your work, do you ever use black canvas?
Thank you so much! I have worked on black canvas but find that the colors are more muted on a dark surface. When I make darker paintings, I prefer to use a lighter background at first, than I layer my colors and then paint the areas around the design black after the painting is finished. I find this helps to keep the colors vibrant and gives it a moody effect. Hope that makes sense!

I use Speedball Mona Lisa Metal Leaf Adhesive

You are correct and I'm sorry about that. It's difficult to film and paint and talk but hopefully it wasn't too distracting. The auto focus on my phone sometimes isn't the greatest. I hope my other videos are a little better. Take care! ❤
