I am a former "born in" Jdub. I left the org in '75. Having said that, I was one of those people who at times attended the "memorial". In 2005, I finally decided to research the teachings fully for the ghosts that continued to remain in my thoughts. The journey started with "Crisis Of Conscience". After the initial shock of realizing that my entire family had been misled beginning in the 1930's, I began delving even deeper into the history of the group. I still find myself reading ex Jdub material and watching channels such as yours. My sister remains loyal to the org. and very highly indoctrinated. The goal I aspire to is seeing the day she awakens from the society's evil spell over her. Your comment about the JW.org video not showing supportive scriptural backing for the "overlapping generations" really speaks to their increased arrogance in the belief that the rank and file truly do consider the WT words to be equal if not greater than that of JeeHobah. Keep up the great work. It is appreciated. Warm regards from Canada.

I’m sorry to report that I have not had success in assisting my my sister out of the trap she is in.
Currently I’m going through a difficult divorce after 20+ years of exclusivity and my sister has been kind in reaching out to me. I haven’t given up, other opportunities may arise.
I wish you comfort on your journey.

@@kevinw1554 Sorry your sister is still "in" and that you are going through a divorce. Hopefully, you'll be able to get through to your sister soon. It is hard to have family still "in" and they will only leave at their own pace. I don't think my family will ever wake up. It runs too deep in them.
But i wish you good luck.

I would spend more time in service, read old watchtower and awake article, pray more, go visit older ones in the congregation and notjing filled thst hole. Thete is s reason, the hole in all of our hearts is meant to be filled by Jesus and when you finally get thst in your mind and heart❤ you are finally on the road to being saved. I love you guys, adorable couple! I came across your video last night when you were sitting alone and talking about telling your husband about leaving the religion, you really touched my heart. It made so much sense. I left the JW 20 years ago and came in in my early 20's through my 2 sisters who are still witnesses. I really have not gave the religion much thought after I left, but WOW have I missed out on ALOT of changes! OMG...I am glad I got out when I did and LIVING THIS life because it's the only life we have. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, What a delightful breath of fresh air you bring to you tube ! I would be proud to know you if we had met in a Kingdom Hall, but equally happy to meet you on the outside. Your calm and deliberate reasoning on this teaching is refreshing.
I can't help but think that David Splane's video on this 'overlapping' teaching attempts to do two things,
1 - keep the Watchtower Organization's sails filled with the winds of co-incidence that the first World War brought this small group who had prophesied about 1914 being the end of the world, spoken of by Jesus, in Matthew 24.
2 - still limit the time remaining by connecting it to the lifespan of 'anointed ones',
thus avoiding the danger of an unending succession. Nothing quite like crying wolf over and over again to numb the response of your flock.
This is damage control, not spiritual food at the proper time.

He is an "unbeliever" husband but he really likes what they teach, I was hoping this might help wake up my mom, but he said she doesn't have any doubts, how can they continue to believe this? They have no scriptural support. So glad you both are out, it show me there is always hope for people to see for themselves what they believe does not make sense.

I'm happy for the both of you that you're minds figured out together that the Watchtower is full of crap. So many have figured this out ( there are many ways to prove a liar is lying, and with the internet it's become easier) but their mate, or other family members still hold onto teachings with their emotions.
The Watchtower loves when this happens and count on it. When families are able to bring their minds out of the fog together, this hurts Watchtower the most. They want to break up families to suite their purpose. Methods for fading or leaving faster are now being evaluated by many, and you left the best and most efficient way possible.

BEWARE A WARNING FOR ALL EX JWS ; ROBERT SKYNNER TARGETS EX JWS ; did a video which said I bore no ill feeling towards Robert Skynner of Christian Comedy Channel BEFORE I was advised to speak with the Police. During my interview with them I was convicted that I had actually been a victim of a conman. THE POLICE TOLD ME ; Conmen like Robert do not break the law as they prey on the vulnerabilities and pity of others. The Police deal with many just like him. They offered me victim support as I was in pieces after they saw the "highly manipulative "letters Robert posted to me some of which they perceived as "threatening" . Sadly there was little they could do except issue Robert with an official warning ( posted on my channel ) . As a Christian I did all I could to help him completely taken in by numerous lies as was Mark Fox. That poor guy is on Morphine due to a degenerative bone disorder yet he still went out to work and tried to support Robert Skynner financially over months in addition to raising his own family. His ministry lies in tatters as his pain at being publically called a conman and thief by Robert has devastated him. You can clearly see Robert do this on the video I uploaded. AFTER speaking to the Police they advised me to publicise what has happened and warn others hence my videos. I will be doing another updating the situation. Whilst I bear Robert no ill will I am having great difficulty coming to terms with the lies he told Mark Fox and others about me, after a huge amount of emotional support , financial assistance given to Robert I am £5000 poorer and broken . I can't believe all the Police told me but know their words were true. I have been the victim of a major conman . Please don't tell me I haven't or my words are hearsay I have provided the evidence, have contacted the Police and apart from offering me victim support and issuing Robert with an official Police warning they can't do anything because lying, manipulation, and preying upon vulnerable people is not against the law. PLEASE BE CAREFUL HE IS VERY GOOD AT GROOMING HIS VICTIMS AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU AS A VICTIM AS MANY HAVE BEEN. More details on my channel

I was a busker in Sydney Australia from 1998 for a couple of years. On the streets I met all types of people from different cults, denominations & doctrines. My view was never: “I’m right & you’re wrong”!... but rather it was: “why am I right & why are you wrong”?... Thus instead of receiving a belief of doctrine through the opinion of an organisation, I was able to listen & then test it via scripture which caused me to study to learn for myself whether I was wrong. Like all zealous cults, doctrines & theories, they’re all based on what I call; “cut & paste theology”! (Just as Satan tempted Jesus by taking scripture out of context). It’s very easy to take a verse & make it say something else! But as far as I see it; if we didn’t have the Pharisees we wouldn’t have much of a Bible because most of the teachings of Jesus were given to us through talking with the Pharisees, who continually twisted scripture for their own glory. As a rule of thumb; if anyone quotes scripture I like to read the verses before & after to make sure that what they’re saying is in context & not just agree with them because I just happen to honour or respect them. There’s a real freedom in being able to “test the prophets, but only bondage for the prophets that can’t be tested”! Your joy & freedom is quite visible & I wish you all the best in your journey to learn & help others through this great tool they call; “ the internet”. Only Heaven knows the seeds we’ve planted & watered which only God can grow - Blessings!

The Greek word "genea" is translated as generation. According to the modern use of "generation" the word is classified as a noun- feminine. The ancient use of genea also included the use of the word as a verb. Strong's concordance states re: generation's 1) gathered, birth, nativity 2) that which has been begotten, men of the same stock, a family a) The several ranks of natural descent, the successive members of a genealogy b) Metaphor- a group of men very like each other in endowments, persuits, character 3) The whole multitude of men living at the same time 4) an age ( ie the time ordinarily occupied by each successive generation) a space of 30-33 years. The original meaning of genea- generation is a continuous generating, or re-stocking by birth, a gene pool handed down or a type of creature re-appearing through time. If Jesus was teaching that there would continue to be spirit begotten sons on earth until "all these things" have taken place the use of the word"this" (adverb) generation would seem appropriate. Jesus did not say "that" generation. By using the word "this" Jesus taught that his followers would by alive at the destruction of Jerusalem and at the time of the greater fulfillment when his anointed followers would "not pass away". Other uses of the word genea are found at Acts 15:21, Acts14:16, Philippians 2:15. At Matt 24:34, Mark 13:30 and Like 21:32 Jesus was using the word genea as a reference to time. The events related to the "genea" or (time) would all take place before the genea or time ran out. If Jesus was referring to genea as a timeline in the lives of persons, those persons would see the complete fulfillment of all of the words of his prophecy. If he was referring to genea as a "royal priesthood or chosen race" then those members of such a royal priesthood or chosen race would see the fulfillment of all of the words of his prophecy. If the meaning of genea refers to a timeline of actual persons then that interpretation has a definite ending time. If Jesus words are interpreted as a race or chosen priesthood there can be no timeline applied to such a group. as long as there are members of this group on earth the generation would be continuing and would nor pass away. If Jesus was referring to genea as 2)b) (a metaphor) his words take on s totally singular meaning. The use of the word "this" which is an adverb would explain why genea in this case would be a verb. In its metaphorical use genea can only be a verb. The question arises: why would Jesus use an adverb to describe any other interpretation? A stronger question arises: Why would the original language be preserved and interpreted and an improper use of such language partical constructs be accepted as a proper use of such language when such use is improper and out of harmony with accepted language usage? The comparison between the scripture at 1Peter 2:9 with the scriptures at Matt 24, Luke 21 and Mark 23 agrees with the grammatical use of the word "this" may lead to the conclusion that genea was being used by Jesus as a metaphorical verb when considering that Jesus also said that "unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved". The metaphorical verb in this case meaning a group with similar endowments ie. the anointed.

Adam Jablonski Why would YHWH have his preachers lie?

    • @adamelos
      @adamelos Před 7 lety

Well. Two answers come to mind.
      1. He doesn't. They do it on their own but it might be still through them that explanations come. Even in the Bible his servants made mistakes but he wouldn't reject them and he still used them.
2.The other answer is might sound somewhat strange. I am not sure if Yahweh is who he claims to be, namely the good and God. And he might not have always been honest .
For example the account of the original sin doesn't make sense to me.
In order to commit a sin one must do it conscientiously .
The first human couple could hardly have committed a sin since as the Bible says , they didn't know 'the good and the bad'.
In fact the very sin meant that they reached for the understanding of it.
If the story of the original sin was a lie than it wouldn't be surprising that Yahweh's preachers could 'lie' as well.
Maybe he isn't as powerful and omnipotent as we think.
      ( Just a theory )

    • @hdisjsndnuehehdnd2213
      @hdisjsndnuehehdnd2213 Před 7 lety +1

Adam Jablonski On point 2 I disagree only because YHWH told Adam what would happen if he ate the fruit. Even though Adam didn't know about Good/Evil or what sin was or its affects, he was given a clear warning (by the person that created and gave him literally everything he had!) that eating the fruit was a death sentence. This in my understanding would be more than adequate in determining Adams conscious decision to disobey YHWHs clear commandment.
But I know where you're coming from because I've asked the same questions. Like how could people (Adam/Eve) that had no concept of lying because of their innocence and naivety possibly be prepared for the Devil, the most cunning antagonist in history?
But I believe my prior statement answered that imo.

Can We Calculate the Length of “This Generation”?
The word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event. For example, Exodus 1:6 tells us: “Eventually Joseph died, and also all his brothers and all that generation.” Joseph and his brothers varied in age, but they shared a common experience during the same time period. Included in “that generation” were some of Joseph’s brothers who were born before him. Some of these outlived Joseph. (Gen. 50:24) Others of “that generation,” such as Benjamin, were born after Joseph was born and may have lived on after he died.
So when the term “generation” is used with reference to people living at a particular time, the exact length of that time cannot be stated except that it does have an end and would not be excessively long. Therefore, by using the term “this generation,” as recorded at Matthew 24:34, Jesus did not give his disciples a formula to enable them to determine when “the last days” would end. Rather, Jesus went on to emphasize that they would not know “that day and hour.”-2 Tim. 3:1;Matt. 24:36.

the reason they used that style of presentation was because the older JW's who are really the only ones still in the Borg relate to that type of teaching. they are the only ones who will swallow the WT teaching. maybe some younger ones will but the majority of people who see this will know its a load of made up rubbish. majority of current Witnesses just stay in the Org because the alternative is too painful to contemplate.

A very good question. And one which isn't easy to answer. My only excuse is that I was an impressionable 14 year old when my mum started studying. She wanted me to study as well. It took me a while, but I did. What impressed upon me the most was the JWs ability to answer specific questions using the Bible which other churches couldn't appear to do, thinking mainly about hellfire, condition of the dead, God's name etc. All the stuff I studied with the elders was the positives. There was not even a thought of looking into the past teachings. I was under the impression for a long time that they were teaching things they always taught, right from CT Russell time. I had no idea there was other dates. I was never encouraged to look back at the history, and now I know why.

I've questioned the Elders about how the brothers come up with the stuff in the watchtower? ie: when the Messiah showed up. and how do they know it was 537 when Jehovah's people were re-established back in Jerusalem,., The generation you talk about.,..So I just do the search to get satisfactory answers for myself. So far I'm happy with what I find. The jury is still out on the overlapping generation. Because it doesn't explain the part , "....this generation will by no means pass away until...." In my mind "this generation" refers to a class or type of people ,.,and not a time frame/frames. So in my mind I'm happy with what the scripture means...I won't be unfaithful to Jehovah just because the brothers may be doing something that I don't agree with whatever it is,...That will be playing right into Satans hands ,.,which is what you've done.

    • @theclever3963
      @theclever3963 Před 8 lety +1

I think the point this couple was making was there was such vague scriptural support that It only makes sense to wonder why something of this magnitude would not have significant scriptural support. And if you use your interpretation of this generation being a class or type of people and not a time frame then the sky's the limit on where they can go from here. And even if this overlapping generation or 2nd annointed class is correct (though no scripture is used there either) then they have bought themselves another 80 to 100 years. Let me ask you Bert, when you did your search, what scriptural support did they use if any??? You said it yourself that the jury is still out on the overlapping generation.

Interesting video. The truth in the absolute is to learn
classical history. All the Advent movements from Miller are only attempted
recreation of 1st century history. It’s straightforward. Philo of
Alexandria created Joshua from the book of Zechariah, chapters 3 and 6. Jesus
never existed in the physical world. Philo said Joshua was an archangel,
First-Born of God, the High Priest, and most important the Logos (Word). The
key to grasping is Joshua = Yeshua = Jesus. Theophilus to whom Biblical Luke
was written used Jesus for Joshua son of Nun (Moses connected) in his writing.
The big historical event was the destruction of Jerusalem
and much of Israel from 66 to 73 CE. Masada was the last to fall. It had
massive influence on Hebrew religion that still reverberates.
Witnesses prefer proof text. The author of Revelation said
the Lord was crucified in the Great City. Philo wrote the Great City is where
God dwells (Heaven). It can be bantered whether he meant under the moon as was
taught in the Osiris religion. The original Joshua Christian teaching was Jesus
was learned from revelation and scripture (Septuagint). It is what Paul taught.
Don’t count on Paul. He existed and wrote his epistles.
Scholars argue the number from 0 to 7, but going with Marcion is the best
known. He counted 10, but I think Paul also wrote Titus. The Timothy’s get the
most challenge. It is not remarkable that Paul wrote his epistles. He was a
    conspirator to assassination.
His brother, Epaphroditus, stabbed Emperor Nero dead. The
history is well recorded. The story is Nero was doomed and feared taking his
own life. Epaphroditus did it. Emperor Domitian didn’t believe the version and
executed Epaphroditus in 95 CE. Paul then met with Roman Senators and Governors
to exhort the assassination of Domitian. The exact Senator was Nerva, and
Petronius Secundus who had been the Roman Governor in Egypt 92-93 CE. While
Aelianus executed Petronius for the assassination, it was Stephanus who stabbed
Domitian in the groin. He was born around 20 CE and had several helpers in the
imperial household assisting. Stephanus in the Bible, whom Paul baptized,
killed Domitian. Paul had several Christians working for the imperial
household; he said especially in Philippians. Whether he ran 1st
century Christianity from the building is an open question. His brother was
Secretary to Nero and Domitian (between is unknown). The ruins of the building
    are on CZcams when curious.
Paul (Apollonius) told Domitian at the trial of being God.
It’s recorded in the works of Philostratus (extant). The best read is Paul died
on Crete in a temple that functioned as a hospice in the reign of Trajan. My
belief is he wrote Revelation 95 or 96 CE. The date isn’t in question. I have
good evidence he wrote it, and literalist sure didn’t write it. Circumstantial
evidence is he was John, and it’s unlikely both John and Paul lived to be
centenarians. Mark also used John, and is the one area in which more is needed.
The reason I accept Apollonius wrote is it has the Therapeut diet, plus it has
Saturn by description in the 1st chapter, unless one accepts a
    bronze (copper) Jesus.
Nerva succeeded Domitian and Paul got away with conspiring
to assassinate Domitian. Nerva also was involved. Read Revelation and while
full of imagery it has his hatred of Domitian. Domitian was the Beast, and the
Roman Senate damned his memory. The Roman public and Army liked Domitian.
“God,” who also conspired to murder emperors, wrote a large
part of the New Testament. Whether Paul encouraged his brother to assassinate
Nero is great research question. Domitian didn’t accept the story of
    Epaphroditus.
History and religion diverge considerably. My opinion is
Paul got his anti-sex attitude from misreading Pythagoras. He studied him at
the Tempe of Asclepius in Aegae, five miles west of Tarsus. It is thought
Pythagoras besides geometry and his raw vegan diet was a physician. Treating
female patients takes an attitude, and Apollonius trained as a physician.
Apollonius is Greek for Paulus in Latin and Paul in English. Whatever he was
circumcised, remained a bachelor, and while not a misogynist he viewed women
aloof. He thought remaining chaste gave him a window to Christ. His attitude
was Christ was soon coming and why burden life with marriage.
The Logos is doom. It’s Greek philosophy from Heraclitus. He
thought the Being could do nothing and needed a Logos for Becoming. Contrast
Genesis 1:1 saying God created the earth with Christianity saying the Logos
made everything; it’s pure Heraclitus philosophy. Jesus as the Logos is Greek.
Amen is annihilation. Christians pray to Amen. Amen was an
Egyptian God of great antiquity, associated with the sun. Amen is the gateway
to ancient Egypt, and studies the God but be ready for much discovery.
I opine Paul’s father was Greek and his mother a Hebrew.
Proving it is too difficult but fits with his life. He figured circumcision was
evil; hence, YHWH is evil. He never ever mentioned YHWH; he used Philo’s Father
word for God. Marcion later incorporated Pauline epistles in his canon. Marcion
was rabid against YHWH and he wrote Antithesis against him. Quotes survive. He
said YHWH was a demiurge and Isu (Jesus) had a good God for a father. There has
never been a better anti-JW than Marcion. There literally is no recovery from
the circumcision God. It nukes the entire Bible. In fairness it was an Egyptian
practice, but by then one is debating Aten, Osiris, Horus, Amen-Ra.
Religion is Egyptian. True there were Gods on Crete before,
and the extremely ancient Mother Goddess, but all modern religion comes from
Egypt. Osiris was the original Word. Did Heraclitus visit Egypt in the 5th
    century BCE?
Roman Catholics call Philo the father of Christianity. He
was in the wealthiest family in antiquity. His writings are readily available
online. Warning: he wrote more than New Testament length. You’ll never be the
same again! Philo said the Logos was inferior to the Father. He was no
Trinitarian. My guess is Russell read some Philo. He was heavy into Egyptian
lore, but he could have got it from Freemasons.
Read Clement 1 online. It was written before 70 CE. Clement
later became Bishop of Rome. He is mentioned in the New Testament. Read his
Phoenix Bird and about Heliopolis in Clement I. It’s sun worship. 1st
century Christians used the Phoenix Bird as their emblem.
The answer is to feel the vestigial point on your earlobe at
2 o’clock. We inherited it from our monkey ancestors. That is, the Zoo is the
best Kingdom Hall. But both have monkeys!

Jehovah witnesses some of their teaching they took from the Bible Students. You can Google Bible students and you see they are still around. I have even called them some of the doctrines are the same as Jehovah witnesses. And both of are a cult. Exodus chapter 1 verses 6 where it mention Joseph and his brothers and that generation. It was mainly saying Joseph died his brothers died in that generation..Verse five talks about the 70 people went to Egypt all together that was one big family. So that was the generation that passed away. it was talking about the regional 70.family members. came into Egypt.
