You didn't have enough money for a 570s and you said it yourself early on in your ownership it's practically the same car.

Actually he's selling because there was no point in throwing money at a car that he wasn't going to be driving
That could also be a way for him to justify why he bought a 540C instead of a 570S.
Personally, I think he is making the right choice. Even though the 540C is a very nice car, his red Jag was a much better fit for him. Looking forward to when he gets the Jag back.

Surprised and a bit disappointed that you haven't mentioned the problems with your McLaren before. But it seems that all of the CZcams McLaren owners downplay the problems with their McLaren's ( Mr.JWW's interior trim falling off, Shmee's overheating issues and a hydraulic oil leek, Salomondrin's electrical problems). But if they where honest and made a big deal out of it, they probably wouldn't be invited to McLaren press drives.
Henry Pattinson Or maybe the McLaren dealers treat their customers very well, so it didn't seem like such a big problem.
Misha Charoudin on his channel made it clear that the 570s has problems with starting and strange electronic ones, that just appeared and disappeared out of no where. He and his partners hadn't had problems with their 675 lt and 675 spider yet, except that they had to exchange the engine, but that is expected after driving them hard for a lot of rounds around the ring.
This seems more likely to me.
+Henry Pattinson I agree with you. It seems McLaren has some quality issues with their cars, and everyone are too afraid to speak out in fear of being black listed by McLaren. This is the reality of a marketing driven free speech - as long as these manufacturers are providing the CZcams content creators new material/content for their channel, it will be very difficult to find a real honest CZcamsr, no matter how much they proclaim they are. They don't want to bite the hand the feeds them.
Shmee was just a faulty radiator cap, and interior trim falling off is not a big deal. A big deal would be Ferraris with windows that won't open or close because the window switch is stuck. This is all stuff covered under warranty

Sorry if this is an ignorant comment, I'm just interested...when you buy your F type SVR, won't you just be in exactly the same situation as the McLaren? driving all other cars, never enough time for your own. Likewise with when you buy a Ferrari?
Ryan He used his McLaren very little, because he couldn't daily it in London, that's why he had the Abarth. But he can use the SVR as a single car.
I think you should get a Golf R so you can contrast normal with the amazing stuff you get invited to drive

He couldnt afford the 540c, either whats the difference?
He could afford it,he owned it for half a year. He mentioned however that it was pointless, it was the wrong choice and the money he was spending on it monthly just wasn't worth the experience, he lacked time and place to ever experience that car at its finest, this is a much more sensible decision both financially and in terms of Sam's CZcams business and also his enjoyment factor.

The SVR that you will be getting is still awesome though! not the same as a McLaren but AMAZING in its own way and I say you should get your Ferrari but with the right spec or your McLaren with the right spec

Jaguar F Type SVR is not cheap - it's going for around £90K (used) from what I can tell.
The 540C is going for around £130K.

Yes, you should've. I once saw Mike Tornabene's video on an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and someone told him if you get the V8 over the V12, one day when the V12 pulls up next to you, you'll just feel pissed you don't have the top spec model!

The thing which frustrates me is that you said before when you just got the car that you intended to keep it for at least 2 years. I know things change, but I really liked your 540 in its wrap and exhaust etc..

I always thought the 540C was a bit more civil and more "practical" in a way (obviously you cant daily it).
You bought a supercar that you didnt really like just to buy a supercar. By the looks of it you never really fell in love with it, and thus you sold it...which is predictable. Bying cars like these(cars that have no other use than making feel good) is not a rational thing to do. So you have to fall in love with them, and you didnt.
Sam, c'mon give us more a detailed info on the issues you've faced with the McLaren. Many are too afraid to list them. Is McLaren ownership a frustrating one? If I had just spent over £120k on a car and it has quality issues, I would be royally pissed. And how is the new [lower] payment rate of CZcams for your content affecting you CZcamsrs?

Andrey yep, especially the new 720S! Maybe the only think that is not as good as the competitors, is the engine sound (mainly because it's turbocharged I guess), but hey, aftermarket exhaust system and you're good to go 😁
Steve Min I've heard the car in person and actually sounds pretty good for a turbocharged car it's very similar to a 488 also it's way louder than in videos. Look I'm not saying it sounds better than a n/a car but it's not bad either.

i remember calling that specific spec basic on instagram and everyone getting angry saying i was insulting the owner, when i said i liked it even though it was a basic spec, and now that ive seen it in and out i can affirm, it is a very basic spec, still cool, but basic.

Not trying to sound mad or anything but this is what up with every youtuber. You buy a car than few months later you get board and sell it and buy another one. Save you're money for something you'll never get board at. Something that'll make you wake up in a Sunday morning and be like ah it's a perfect time to drive this.

The first generation McLarens have a terrible rep. For reliability here in the US. The first question anyone asks what problems have you had. Hopefully the 720s doesn't have issues. If you really can't afford your car it's a good decision to sell. Get something you can depend on
