    Thank you for the instruction and run through as well as the review! I've recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at a ripe old age so this is all new to me! I wish I could use one of those continuous systems like Libre but my insurance will not cover it unless I also pump in insulin which I'm thankfully not at that stage yet! This video makes the Dario system look very compact and easy to use and it is rated as one that is highly accurate! Some reviewers didn't like the app sign up as it asked for some personal information but I believe health apps are moving that way in general and I doubt they are using the app data for nefarious reasons but if someone knows other wise please let me know! God bless you @DiabeticDanica ! Very thankful!

    Definitely small and compact. The whole thing is a little smaller than the Contour Next meter plus finger poker I use. And that does not even count the bottle of 50 strips I also carry. Of course you have to add in the phone too. I usually carry it with me, but its still separate. Not sure how to really compare the size of this Dario to my testing kit. But the Dario is definitely far more cumbersome to actually do a test. Maybe for traveling and only doing very few tests each day it might make some sense. But not for me on a daily usage basis.

    • @JDubsPub
      @JDubsPub Před 2 lety

      Hi Rochelle. The Dario doesn't have a place to store the lancets. You can get away with using one per day which is what I do. I am sure some people say don't do that, but it is fine as long as it stays clean. If you are leaving for a day or two, just bring a little plastic bag or small carrying case for the lancets and alcohol wipes. I hope this helps.

    Can you test using the meter several times without connecting to your phone, e.g. before lunch, evening, etc. Then download later the results of all the past tests? Also does it link to any pumps such as T-Slim, Medtronic, etc? I will also use your link and and check it out further and I also don't need to check often using a sensor and pump but my Dr differs with that viewpoint. Is it durable enough to put in a pocket with keys? Went to buy it and that little tester is nearly $10 to ship. Thanks for the update on this and even with the unknown other information I think I'll get one!

      Wanda, do you need to calibrate your CGM or your insulin pump. I am now trying my 4th sensor, and each one has needed to be calibrated at least once but no more than 3 the Service Reps say. Their Customer Support Team is great as they replace the sensor with no questions asked really. So I am now trying to see if I can get the Tandem T-Slim. Dexcom explained that since I have Gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) this would be the best choice to try and get my sugars under control. I am a bit concerned since I have had issues with 4 sensors. However, it has been a joy to not have to use my glucose meter all day long. My finger tips are healing up so nicely!! 👍 Yay!! 😊 Years ago I was on the Medtronics 670g but it was always off by 50-70 points and I kept going to the ER due to low blood sugars. After my 4th visit I did go off of it and have taken a break from any devices since late 2018. I may just be one who does not do well with Bluetooth. I just heard today that there is about 10 - 20% of diabetic patients who do not find these wonderful devices to be helpful at all. Instead they just add stress. Along with disappointment. But such is life. We are lucky to have blood glucose meters and MDI’s if that is the best choice, it is still better than the alternative. So stick with the calibrations and call them if you have to do so to your CGM more than 3x’s as they like to make a note of it, and they send you a free replacement. Best of luck to ya. This truly is a 24/7 condition and it is a lot to manage. I am learning to just go slower and be kinder and gentler with myself, like I would with a little child. It keeps me more patient which is needed to reduce the stress levels. Danica is a great source and you are lucky to have found her. I hope she is able to help you with any of your concerns or questions!! EnJOY your evening!!
