      8 mg/dl is within a reasonable error margin. Some meters will give you slightly different readings depending on how much blood you apply. But yes, I’ve found this meter to be consistently accurate

    How have you liked using your Dario since this video? I ask because while I like the little kit and the app seems good I go through like 4 strips to get 1 reading. I follow the instructions and have tried small drop, medium drop, and large drops of blood and none of it seems to matter. It just doesnt read like 60-70% of the time

    Do you need to use alcohol pads before and after testing, or are clean hands just as good?

    • @DiabetesStrong
      @DiabetesStrong  Před 3 lety +1

      Most recommendations say wash your hands with warm water and soap and make sure they’re completely dry before measuring. If you have any particles on your hands (like fruit juice) it can screw the reading.
      If you have nothing else a wipe or alcohol swap could do. Check out my tape on how to measure your blood sugar. It goes into more details on how to get accurate readings with less pain

    I can't get mine take in the blood. Are you put the blood in on the very edge of test strip?

    • @DiabetesStrong
      @DiabetesStrong  Před 2 lety

      First, put the test strip in the meter, and once the meter asks for a blood drop you press out a small blood drop. Once the blood drop has formed on your finger, hold the end of the test strip (the little “window”) up to the blood and it should pull in the blood.

    would it be okay if my wife and I use one unit? Will the different readings be recorded as belonging to one person as opposed to two? Can it be used for two users? My wife has diabetes. I recently escaped diabetes, Dr. gave me 3 months to bring my A1C 6.6 down and I did it in 3 months to 5.6 with keto and walking and have lost 55 lbs in the process, but I still would like to monitor my blood glucose

    I have had my Dario Glucose meter for several year now. However my Dario meter apparently was an earlier version which plugged into the earphone jack. They also signed my up for their auto supply program without my knowledge after they had my credit card and sent me hundreds of strips. Unfortunately my Dario has not been very reliable. Last night it took me 8 test strips to get a proper reading. It loses connection with the Dario very often or the strips do not work. Today I had enough of it and ordered a different meter which also interfaces through a USB cable to my computer. The meter I purchased also has some extremely powerful logging and data analysis software.

      @DiabetesStrong  Před 3 lety

      Most meters will give you slightly different readings. It's frustrating for us who rely on accuracy but FDA allows a pretty wide range, unfortunately. 20 mg/dl difference is not a lot unless of course, you're measuring for a low blood sugar. It does estimate your A1C. My only issue with meters doing that is that it’s based on relatively few data points so I don’t know how reliable the A1C is. For example, if you tend to run high at night but you don’t measure during that time it won’t be reflected in the estimate. But that’s not a Dario specific concern, that goes for all meters
