    *My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

      if she drinks a lot of water the kidney throws excess water.dont worry if neither of parents type 1 diabetic.relax.but still worried see doctor.god bless your family

    I'm 85 and decided to enjoy the rest of my life; medications have lots o bad side effects and inter action with other drugs. I plan to live to 100; maintain a positive attitude and fire some of my doctors!

      My thoughts exactly dear. I'm not as old as you. But I got so many of the side effects, like my head aches and many more seizures, etc, after the diagnosis. What's annoying me now is my sugar level more often is too low and I have to eat something sweet immediately to increase my sugar level or I would have a seizure. And my epilepsy was so well controlled. Also, I'm taking the insulin to reduce my sugar level or control, but when I eat something sweet on an odd occasion my sugar level shows high immediately. And the food is increasing it but the insulin not decreasing it. Every other time the foods are perfect so it is not seen that the insulin does not need to do anything but is taken anyways, thinking it is what is keeping it normal:-(

      Where are you dear. It's exactly what I want to do🖐👍 I'm actually looking for somewhere where the healing/medication is natural medication. I would love to be involved in something like that. I have epilepsy and type 1 diabetes and I can't manage the treatment/medication for it. And both are incurable:-( But what I've been seeing is what I eat plays more of a role than the medication for the diabetes. There's days when I eat something sweet like piece of chocolate or so my sugar level is immediately showing higher. Even though my sugar level was normal and I have to still take the insulin. And I do take it:-( Also it is said low blood sugar causes seizures. And my epilepsy that was so well controlled is not anymore, in terms of me having more seizures when my sugar level is normal and I have take the insulin.

      @@dorothyoputa7627 Food definitely plays the biggest part than the medication itself. I've been proving it especially with drinking more water in the day. There's days when I'm not as close to having as much water as I do, my sugar level is higher than normal. And the one day when I have something that's not to be had, my level is immediately higher. What is the insulin going in and doing? Cos every other time my meals are so strict and no insulin to decrease sugar level necessary but it is taken:-(

    I *was* a diabetic - when I cut out ALL carbohydrates from my diet (still consuming the same amount of calories but from meat such as chicken and by just eating butter sticks) the diabetes went away entirely AND I managed to lose about 175 pounds. I speak from experience: Refined carbohydrates make you hungry. Refined carbohydrates make you fat because to deal with raised blood sugar, your pancreas secretes INSULIN and that gives the instruction to convert the sugar into fat *and* while there are raised levels of insulin, your body *CANNOT* call off the calories off of your fat store to convert into blood sugar to fuel your limbs. *CUT OUT THE CARBS!* If only I'd found that out 20 odd years ago.

      "butter sticks"?? by themselves?? Don't get me wrong, i'm a fan of butter (As of a year ago I now use plant butter), because I would think that animal fat CANNOT be all that good for a diabetics heart.

      Diabetes is a dietary disease not chronic progressive disease. It's best in interet in pharma/doctors to keep us sick with diabetics rather cure that. I have a1c 9 in Feb 2021, I cut down carbs n with exercise I was managed to lower it to 6.6 I am still working on it.

    My experience with LDL and A1C is somewhat unbelievable.
    I had high total cholesterol (225) and high triglyceride (325) measured after eating good breakfast (I should have not done that) and my A1C was 6.4. My doctor put me on rosuvastatin 20 mg per day (equal to 40 mg of atorvastatin per day). I became quite sick, weak and plenty of muscle pain. My A1C went up to 6.4 from 5.9. I put on 8 pounds. During those days, I used to eat rice (once), bread and some fruits (2-3 types) daily and some meat (on and off) and two eggs. It is quite possible that I am very sensitive to Rosuvastatin.

    6 months later, my total cholesterol went down to 120 (LDL was 69), HDL went up by 30% (40), triglyceride was 63 and my A1C dropped to 5.4 (all measured after 14 hour of fasting). I lost 8 pounds. What did I do differently?

    I reduced rosuvastatin by taking 5 mg every alternate day (that is like 2.5 mg per day) and I stopped eating any added sugar. I eat twice a day now (lunch and dinner and eat absolutely NOTHING in between). I reduced my carb intake by 50%, stopped eating FRUITS completely (fructose in fruits is BAD), increased my protein content (120 gm per day; chicken, two whole eggs, some cheese) and take approximately 4 teaspoon of good oil such as olive oil and avocado oil. I significantly increased vegetables like green stuff (twice a day). I eat a mixture of nuts (walnut, pumpkin seed, flax seed, almonds, peanuts) once a day. I walk 30 minutes everyday, indoor bike for 20 minutes and that is it. I do my best to keep active most of the time (rather than sit for hours etc) by doing household stuff etc. I started avoiding stressful situation as much as possible by not reacting to every little stupid things in life. I have more energy than what I had 20 years ago. I don't get irritated much now. I sleep better. My focus is better. I hardly get tired now. My resting heart rate is very normal now. I am thinking of stopping rosuvastatin once I talk to my doctor next month.
    I will add resistance training (three times a week) to my routine. And I am a 65 year old person.

      My situation sounds like your story. I was on 40mg of Simvastatin for a couple of years. Felt weak every day. Had nerve pains, muscle cramps and blurry vision trying to read my Bible. Always told my doctor. He never listened to me. Just recently he asked me to go a full pill to 80 mg. I agreed and after two and a half weeks I had 22 adverse effects. From nerve pain to muscle pain, to deep head pain to blurry vision, throat tightening, body shaking, hands and arms shaking, foggy brain, memory loss, couldn't remember why I walked to the kitchen or bathroom, head jerking like a bird, confusion, nasal congestion, hot flashes of head and shoulders, thigh night pains, both eyes had deep pressure around sockets, couldn't read words- my mind would change the words I was trying to read. I had symptoms like patients with Parkinson's, ADHD, Alzheimers, and Schizophrenia. All these things happened in 5 days.
      I stopped taking the pill totally, and now my nerves, muscles, eyes and cognitive problems are going away after 2 weeks.
      I saw in a page of people who get serious side effects from Statin pills, and the ratio is 1 to 2,200 patients.
      We are those 1 in 2,200 ppl patients that cannot use Statins for our bodies. Our minds won't allow it.
      It may be that we are more spiritual than earthly beings. It may be that we don't trust these people who give us medications and we don't trust these things for our health.
      I know I can only trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the great physician. There must be a reason why these Statin pills make a few ppl sick, while others can tolerate it.

      Geoff, I am a 33 year old man who has never had any health problems other than high cholesterol. My doctor put me on atorvastatin, and now my fasting blood sugar is 104 at almost all times. Ny other blood sugar levels such as before and after meals are ordinary for a non diabetic. I have read that there are terrible consequences to a normal person's blood sugar with taking a statin and that atorvastatin is the worst, followed closely by rosuvastatin. Do you think its possible that the atorvastatin has caused it? I read that it does.....

      I am one patient that will stop a medication once I tell my doctor about its side effects on my body. I have little tolerance with cholesterol medication that has statins and two were prescribed for and within a week my muscles were hurting and immediately I stopped it. I do believe once we change our diet, we can bring our levels down. I just have a problem with doctors who are quick to prescribe medication without dealing with nutrition especially when it has to deal with cholesterol levels.

      He still didn't say a number, he said too low or too high so in between too low and too high what is the normal number one can be at to be normal ( e. g. ) let's say if you keep a number like 95 every you check your number is that a normal glucose some Dr's have told me to keep my numbers between 60 and 150 and I should be fine sooooo who's right ?

    Nice video, I have NightRider cgm and Libre sensor for monitor the glucose values on phone without scanning and finger prick. Also, I share my glucose data as well as my food insights, activity data to my endo. I found all these features are very useful.

    I’m Type II and my VA doc told me to include several small meals per day, including carbs. I’ve actually gone a week with Zero carbs and I felt great. Plus, my morning level was 87. “87 !!!” So, given what you’ve said here, along with my past week of Zero Carbs proves that carbs are totally unnecessary altogether. Thanks doc 🙂

      You need another Doctor! The more you eat the higher your blood sugar goes up. It is a good habit to eat less as much as you can.

Commercials and Food companies hooked us up so bad, such as cereal, McDonald's, restaurant foods such as Great pasta dishes, bread etc. had contaminated our bodies; to the point of cravings that cause us to binge eating carbs when we deprive our bodies

      I was having Glucose counts from 114 to 200...
      Almost everyday!! Taking Metformin 1000 mg 2 times Daily...🙉🙉.
      Right after a week and a half!!
      My Sugar counts are from 88 to 120 ( 1 hour after meals) .
      I think this is So Wonderful!!!
      Please !!! Stop all carbs!!!
      No Bread ( even whole wheat) . No crackers, no rice, ( all types)
      "NO FRUITS". ( NONE)
      Eat all green vegetables as much as you want to, use Olive oil ( extra Virgin) all kinds of meat , including chicken, beef , all Fatty fish such as Salmon, Tuna ( not canned tuna) , Sardines,
      If you are addicted to bread like I am !
      Opt for a coconut flour bread or Almond flour bread you can get the recipes on CZcams ( even microwave ( in just 8 minutes )
      Oh!! And for breakfast try to include 1 boiled egg every morning
      All this has worked perfectly for me.
      You can try it to!!!!
      I wish you the Best !!! And be strong mentally!!!
      Keep it in your mind 24/7..
      NO CARBS AT ALL!!!!

Now in my early seventies, I am determined to be as proactive as possible in my endeavor to reclaim what I previously considered a healthy and fit body for my age. It can be a daunting challenge to undo damaging lifestyle habits although in a strange way I do welcome the challenge, researching and determining the basic necessary aspects to be most aware of can also be peppered with useful but often misleading advice, often inspired by profit by promoting a particular product.       @@GEN3S1 I'll help answer that question. William may be healthy and diabetes free, but he can no longer have big bars of chocolate, sweets, soda or donuts. You can beat diabetes, but you will forever be on a diet. Lose that diet and you got diabetes again.

      Honestly I think you can actually reverse(cure) diabetes "IF" the only cause is Insulin Resistance alone. However it is my understanding that in many Type 2 diabetics, especially, that some of the high blood glucose levels may come from a "lack" of insulin production from the Beta cells of the Pancreas. So if Beta cells are destroyed or damaged then your ability to produce normal levels of insulin are reduced and as such your body may no longer be able to produce enough insulin to keep the higher levels of blood glucose in check.

      @William Flores I am type 2 diabetic , and not to be argumentative , but you cannot “cure” diabetes, I’ve had this for 12 years , weight loss will help , as will a very selective diet , my a1c tests are 5.9 to 6.2 , certainly well within the tolerances of the ADA recommendations , it depends on the individual person , I would never wish anything bad at anyone , but go and eat 3 pancakes with maple syrup , wait 2 hours and check your blood sugar , you might wonder where the “cure” went . It may be “under control “ but certainly not “cured” I hope you stay well , Robert

    My overnight fasting bloods were close to 130. Day after day, after consuming 3-4 cups of BLACK coffee. One morning I measured with NO coffee, and my glucose went down 20 pts, in one day! Follow your Dr.'s orders....but coffee is a crop, a crop is food...coffee is a highly sprayed crop at that...1 more item I will go organic on!

    For monitoring diabetes, I use Freestyle Libre sensor with BluCon NightRider and able to get glucose values on my watch without the phone and without scanning the sensor.

    This was quite entertaining but was of very limited use as I check my blood sugar on rising daily but my little gadget that measures my glucose level doesn't do it in teaspoons, it just gives me a number and I am told by my medical practitioner to aim for a number as close to seven as I can. I live in Australia and here the people who set up our protocols usually take it upon themselves to change the units that are used from the rest of the worlds, this has two main uses as far as I can tell. One it removes the possibility of getting information /advice from oversees experts and two it reinforces there view of how clever they are.

    That is an excellent presentation and explanation of the problem of high glucose levels, and the negative effects on the body, I have had type 2 diabetes for years and it was a long time before I began to understand the condition, I wish I had seen this video years ago.

    Most doctors are talking about a normal person who has no issue with blood glucose or liver. Thus he can say no to carbohydrates. As he say the liver is capable to manufacture glucose for energy from protein and fat. I think when someone has a liver issue, his liver will no longer able to do so effectively. More energy problem will arise if he skips the carbohydrate and sugar. May affect the rhythm of the heart beat due to insufficient energy. Gauge your health as what you currently are and consume carbohydrate and sugar with caution. Take them when you feel necessary but in small doses. The most important thing is to treat the liver. It's the most important organ. Check if you have fatty liver or cirrhosis.

    I was on metformin for about 10 years. The doctor said keep carbs to 40 or less per meal.... my glucose levels were NEVER good. I went on a KETO diet, and 2 meals a day. Now my glucose level averages roughly 95.... ! I have lost alot of pounds and stomach fat . I average about 15 carbs....PER DAY, with NO MORE metformin.

      "Healthy" carbs still turn into sugar. Fruit has no magic that makes sugar from fruit healthy. Honey, agave nectar, and maple syrup are still sugar. The only part of carbs that doesn't turn into sugar is the insoluble fiber.

    It is quite MORE advisable to eat 3 meals or 2 or 1 depending on whether you are fasting, doing OMAD or 2MAD. AND.....AND to AVOID SNACKING because snacking will elicit an INSULIN RESPONSE which we don't want. Thomas Delauer suggests eating your snacks WITH your meals, which makes sense to me because I said it first before Thomas said it but Thomas is the one with the CZcams channel so there's that. 🙃

    It works. Eliminate carbs and you will keep your blood sugars down. Still I would of like to hear or see what normal glucose numbers are for you average person without diabetes.

    I was prediabetic earlier and then got converted to diabetic as my sugars started increasing gradually. That time i never use to monitor , but now I always monitor my levels through my blucon nightrider which i use with Freestyle sensor so that my blood sugars remain within range

    I'm completely unsure what's happening to me. I have so many strange symptoms and I think my doctors think I'm making them up. They have done some tests but seem to have dismissed some of the symptoms. This could be normal but I'm a little worried about them.
    At first I noticed sometimes I would feel weak, hot and SUPER hungry about 30 minutes after eating a meal. Sometimes my face or head would feel prickly (like when a limb falls asleep and starts waking back up). I've had this happen my entire life and thought nothing of it other than it was annoying and inconvenient. Now I'm 34 and my brother about a year ago tested my blood sugar during one of these episodes and it was 71. He told me I needed sugar FAST or I could pass out and that it was dangerous.
    I purchased a kit to test myself especially 2 hours after a meal or if I'm feeling strange. I've found that sometimes about 30 minutes to an hour after I eat my sugar crashes down to 70ish. This happens 3-4 times a week especially in the afternoon. It NEVER happens unless I eat at least that I've noticed. Even if I eat a bag of candy I've had it crash or even drink a big slushy. 30 minutes or so later suddenly BOOM I'm at 70 and feel aweful. I've kept a record this on the testing device. Taking a test before eating (i'm usually around 90 or so) and then soon after (sometimes 150+ if I've eaten sugary foods) then BOOM crash.
    Anyways There are other symptoms that may be unrelated or directly caused somehow by this. I had a 2-3 week long vertigo spell about 5-6 years ago and that one was mostly head motion triggered so I figure it was an inner ear thing but about 2 years ago I started having similar attacks ONLY when I was laying on a completely flat surface. NOT while moving my head quickly or anything though if I put my chin to my chest for too long while laying down it will trigger them as well. This has not stopped for 2 years now.
    Lastly about 4 months ago I started smelling something like roasted meat and peanut butter on ANYTHING that had a strong smell. Mint? My babies poop? My shampoo? etc. ALL smelled like that. Over time it started to smell more and more rotten. This has since started so hopefully a long after effect of covid (it started about a month after I had covid and I tested negative multiple times during the symptom).
    They did a brain cat scan and mri and both came back negative for brain cancer though they said there were things in my nasal cavity or something they didn't clarify if that was dangerous or could cause my symptoms. Just said I need to see an ENT doctor though I havent been able to because I've been working 60 hours a week and watching my 2yo the second i'm off work. Hopefully in the next couple weeks. They also tested a billion things in my blood like my A1C and stuff and all came back fine. they tested for celiac disease or something like that and nothing.
    It's so frustrating because i can't afford any of these tests and at this point I'm starting to ask myself is it worth putting my family in medical debt for the rest of our lives or should I just roll the dice and hope I don't die? I hate the American healthcare/insurance system.

      I would venture a guess that your blood glucose levels crash because you’re over consuming highly refined carbohydrate foods which trigger your pancreas to secrete high levels of insulin. In response to insulin, the glucose gets shuttled into cells for storage for future use.
      When you overconsume food like this, your body overcompensates for the amount of glucose - more insulin than is necessary.
      So, why not experiment with fewer refined foods and stay away from candy. What you describe is pretty classic.
      But experiment and see for yourself.

      Have you ever been tested for Addison’s disease? My Sister has it. She started out having low blood sugar attacks and at times felt like she had vertigo. She was diagnosed about 20 years ago so I don’t recall all her symptoms but some sounded like yours. It might not be that but it probably would hurt to ask your doctor to test for it if you haven’t been.

      @@idahardy4052 sorry didn't see this. I definitely have and I think you are right except the overconsume part unless eating a single baked potato and a steak is overconsuming carbs lol. I am definitely not a good judge for that. I was homeless from 13 to 18 and always near starving so now I eat everything on my plate from the subconscious fear I'll get no food for a week. I'm getting better though I'm 210 at 511 so not "damn!" Levels of big. My point is it happens for meals like steak and potatoes or curry with rice. I know those have lots of carbs but I don't know of other people having this reaction from those types of meals.
      On a side note I got in a car accident and got a herniated disc from it and instantly all vertigo stopped lol so I'm wondering if it was a neck issue? I'm in more pain than ever in my life but on the bright side no more barfing or random vertigo for the moment. Anyways thanks for the response! I really don't eat candy or slushies often but I'll make sure to keep that trend and try with less carbs in general

    A follow up. My HBA1c is now 5.4% it was 7.6% three year ago, which I was dx with diabetes type 2. Diet ( low carb ~ 65 total grams, exercise, and medications. Metformin ER 500 mg, and Ozempic. 0.5 ml once a week.

      You might want to wean yourself off metformin it kills kidneys and has other complications. Check out keto diets

      Dr Google has the answer. This video demonstrates how little glucose is in our blood stream at any one time. Blood glucose levels are tightly controlled. The exact number varies depending on whether the sample is "fasting", "random", after food etc....

      But your A1C needs to be below 7 always they can check your overall A1C at doctors office every 6 months or get A1C test at drug store just keep below 7 always

    My doctor said I should check my blood sugar often but never told me what it was suppose to be. I found on line that 80 to 100 was normal, and every thing above that was on the way to being diabetic. Any thing under a 100 for me I start getting shaky, so I try to keep it between 100 and 160, and I feel fine. He didn't tell me how long before or after eating should I check it, so now I am taking a reading before I eat, and hour or two after to let my system digest the food. Before, I tested right after eating and almost panicked when eating a small low carb baked meal it was over 200, so I got up and took a long walk trying to get it down. All I got from this video is that we really don't need foods with carbs. The doctor also didn't tell me that my blood sugar can elevate during the night on its on. I take a reading before going to bed, and not eating any snacks, and my blood sugar can be a little higher than when I went to sleep. That body thinks it need it and makes it.

    Curious Wars. I think you are suffering from bad stress and depression, both of which can cause very bad
    physical symptoms. I suffered from that a few years ago and experienced a lot of these symptoms. I was
    prescribed antidepressants and gradually over time (about 2 months) I started to feel better, but I had to
    continue taking them for about a year. I think you’re doctor should have picked up on this, but I know a lot
    of them don’t. I had a particularly good doctor who did pick this up and I was very surprised by his diagnosis
    but he was absolutely correct. Get this checked out.

    Why is the threshold for glucose so small in order to reach diabetic levels? A video I watched earlier says 95 but I googled “safe glucose levels” and it says 140. So which is it? 95 or 140?

    The problem I'm seeing is that we as a species are not designed to live completely off meats and fats nor are we designed to be strictly vegetarian either. The grains and other startchy foods we cannot digest but the other carbs we can and they are better for us in the long run over grains and other startchy food.
    I agree with everyone else here. This video doesn't give much more than what biologists have been trying to say over the last 5-10 years.... eating things we are not designed to digest or eating one type of foods over another willingly is very harmful to the body. You can actually make yourself very sick by doing if you decide to add in the food type you excluded from your diet.
    I'm currently a Gestational Diabetic; the grains with or without added sugars (cereals, breads, pastas, etc) and startchy vegetables cause me the most problems. Non-starchy vegetables and most fruits however don't spike my glucose levels enough for me to worry especially if they are canned in water or 100% natural juice no sugar added. Proteins and fats are technically carbohydrates but protein helps reduce how fast we absorb glucose. Do not eliminate carbs completely but reduce by 2/3rds the grains and starchy veggies to help prevent diabetes and this can even cure it if you have just been diagnosed depending on how long you have been a diabetic without knowing.
    After the baby is here I will see if I'm still a diabetic by testing before each meal and 2 hours after meals. If my choices reflect high glucose levels over the course of a 2 month period (150+) then chances are I most likely still diabetic.

    From London Brixton UK. Eat a plant based diet. If you start natural food, u lose the desire for sweet things.
    P.s. those who cut out the carbs. Holland& Barret sell konjac rice & pasta with zero carbs. Those who eat clean, you can make rice from cauliflower or buy it. N u can make vegetables spaghetti or buy it.

    My endo has suggested little higher levels for my parents as normal , as he suggests that they should not land up in hypo..so I have set target range in their linkblucon app as 120-200, so whenever their sugars go out of range the blucon alarms

    I have just obtained a On Call Plus blood glucose monitoring system. I set it up using your video which was very helpful. It now displays my blood glucose in mg but I want it to display in mmol. Is there anyway that I can change it from mg to mmol?

    I believe this gentleman because I absolutely quit the sugar, cut out fruit juices and drink my tea without even artificial sweetners! I eat no processed foods, no beans, corn, or peas for they are starchy and turn into sugar once in one's blood stream! I am also very leery of fruits such as oranges, apples, and notably raisins! I HAD to take these extreme measures because I DON'T WANT TO BE A DIABETIC!!! My middle aged daughter cut out even rice, potatoes, etc. and has slimmed way down and her blood sugar is below 90 and her A1C level is about five! She was never obese, however, but the diabetes was attacking her body anyway! I've heard that carbohydrates such as apples, carrots et al are really made for animals to eat!

    Is it true doc that in order not to get your sugar level spike is that whenever you're hungry, you can basically eat ordinary bfast lunch or dinner but without sugar content or least aMount of glucose in it? For example, avoid sweets, chocolates, lattes, sodas, desserts . Instead take black coffee (or w/ limited amount of creamer/milk ) but with no sugar or get yourself a tea instead, course no sugar again. I've been doing this after my 16:8 fast. My blood sugar is 64 as of today.

    Some carbs are quick to sugar like bread or cake developed with your flours. Other carbs are so slow to digest they help burn sugar up in the digestive process. Avoid foods that combine sugars and your breads. The key is high protein and high fiber foods in combination with a few starches and your sugar balances out. I'm 18 years a type 2 diabetic and my present A1C stays in the 5.9 to 6.1 level. Yes, my sugars sometimes hits 140 to 180 if I'm not careful. Eat some fruits like your strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, and apple slices with cheese. My main foods are non breaded lean meats, plenty of beans, greens like Spinach/Kale/Mixed, cabbage, califlower, broccoli, onions, and etc. Eat those with your in moderation starchy vegetables like potatoes, peas, and corns. When first diagnosed strictly avoiding sugar helped then later my insulin resistance required cutting out more carbs.

      generally if it's white and starchy lay off of it...breads...pasta...rice...potatoes....as long as people understand that the body converts foods to sugar (glucose) it's makes more sense. Too many diabetics think just cutting out sugar on their cereal or in their coffee will do the trick...they totally overlook the bagel as being "sugar".
