It looks similar to Dune you say? Yup, made and released by the same people.
Credit goes to Retroplay as I pretty much followed his longplay, and improved it. Mainly by removing over 25 minutes of loading (did fast scrubbing, so wasn't too accurate, would have taken too long, left maybe 1-3 seconds on each loading instead of the 10+ it had before), which also made me have to manually add the music in the correct places, as the music would have been interrupted and stuff if I just cut loading here and there. The music changed 40 times throughout the movie, and it was between 3 different tunes in a looping order, like 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3... I didn't pay much attention to the music when playing, so thought the tunes were in random order, but they weren't. Yeah, had long loading times, even when running from a hard drive. It loaded like it was played from floppies. I even tried the WHDLoad version with PRELOAD and it still loaded just as long.
I later saw in a text version of a walkthrough that the "Young Hustler" at 21:40 can sell you a tape. It cost $5 I think. So I went way back and replayed till I got to that point again (not for longplaying, only to check it out and tell about it later). I inserted it in the VCR and only text showed. I'm not surprised of course, as it only showed text during the rape thingy earlier as well (man... poor woman, so brutal: 30:55). Anyway, here's the text I got:
"A black and white 1941 film by John Huston. You watch the beginning: lack of visual imagination but the actors and plot seem interesting"
I googled it and it's "The Maltese Falcon" movie. Don't know why Retroplay didn't buy the tape. Doesn't seem like those money was needed for anything else later. Maybe he used a walkthrough that only did the very essential needed to complete the game. Don't know... but now you know about the tape anyway :)
The walkthrough also said there would be sex tapes in the same drawer as the rape video. So, after taking the rape cassettes and then looking in the drawer again, there are now new cassettes. But when inserting these in the VCR just makes the guys come in so I never get to read what was on the tapes/cassettes. So, I wonder how the walkthrough knew they were sex tapes. Maybe it was written for the PC version and this was somehow left out of the Amiga version? Or maybe I just did something wrong. No idea.
Censored some paintings for CZcams.
02:00:31 - Skipped text too fast, oops... enough time for you to pause and read if u want, I think.
00:02:01 - Chapter 1
00:48:08 - Chapter 2
01:57:31 - Chapter 3
02:10:12 - Chapter 4 -

I remember playing this game over 20 years ago. It was fun but super hard. Almost impossible without a walkthrough because if you made one mistake you were either dead or could not progress later.
This playthrough saved my bacon.
Some of this is so obtuse and there are so many easy to miss things that only bite you in the ass later or just stuff you wouldn't even think of that I'm floored that anyone actually completed this back in the day without any help.
The presentation, the execution of the theme, the writing, the music, the art it's all really good and you can get really immersed in this but the game is completely merciless for someone doing a blind playthrough.
A lot of these ancient games are awesome in terms of design and music, but playing them seriously now by yourself is... well, ahem, *sadly*.
Finished this as a 14 yrs old kiddo, no solutions. True comrade must've been :D
The soundtrack on this game is fucking awesome.
Mark H Adlib DOS version is better, also it has more tracks, check it out
@@grongy6122 you’re insane
@@Adrian_Stone yeah, I would recommend that you actually listen to it ;)
Came for the game, stayed for the soundtrack.
Got this on in the background purely for the jams
The music is great. But it's an Amiga game, and Amiga games in general seem to have awesome music.
Probably the best music on any game old or new

I don't remember this one. They really made games back then in a good way. I could quite happily play them still.
They need to remake this game, it wss so good
Wow... Очередная порция отменной клюквы))
In the apartments above the bar, you can shoot the doors to enter each of the rooms for hidden dialogues.
80-90s was the golden age of video games.........after that, nothing much happened.
"Irresponsible hooligan elements have infiltrated every sector of the social tissue. I shall investigate!"
Best quote EVER! :D
Put that on a T-shirt :)
Hey, thank you for the great gameplay. Also I got the screenshot, if you are interested? :D :D

The music on this game is immense.
Nice music.
I like this version better than PC. Now I'll never play it again and point people to this video when they ask.
Too bad you'll point it to THIS video and not the same version on my own channel. (I upload these videos months on my own channel before this one, and sometimes special improved versions, + got more longplays there that will never appear here, etc).
Could just say.. would you kindly point it to my channel? :P I also don't hope you mind, I'll be showing your video on my stream with your permission of course.
I don't mind, as long as proper credit is given, i.e. my YT channel and not World of Longplay's.
Yea, I'll add you as a feature on my channel too.
CRYO also developed Aliens: A Comic Book Adventure. A RPG point and click adventure, with outstanding animations and graphics, sadly, they obtained a license from NORMA COMICS (who were publishing aliens comics at that time), and FOX ordered to retrieve all the games from all over the world, argueing that license was only for comics, and not video games.
Still, the game is avialable to buy in some retailer websites, or eBay.
I bet they did
Loved this one when I was a child
golden age of cryo - dune and kgb !
With what's going on, had to revisit the memories of this
Thinsk about Modern Talking drinking Vodka playing wit pet bears when playing this Masterpiece...
Amiga had some great flute and synth music back in the day. Shadow of the beast was one notable. this reminds me of sir rahs michael zerbos style music on his horror game text adventures they were all good back then. I wonder what happened to michael zerbo he had a penchant for wicked text games back then
Retro games tho 💖
Thanks a lot for this upload! Did you know that studio version existed prior to this? Due to the success of It on CZcams, I wanted to do a remaster, like I did for "Dune Spice Opera" this year (easy to find), but unfortunately the tapes are lost. 😢
But I still have the midi sources, so, be prepared to hear some new version this year!
Just follow me here to keep up-to-date!
Stéphane Picq 2024
I love the Kraftwerk rip-off soundtrack. Awesome!
This music.
Iconic.
after all these years I think it must've been written by KGB for recruitment....good it failed :D
27:15 - we play games the same way. I did a actual LOL. Love your work.
:( Good old times....
Looks super cool but man, that music is intense.
Y'all need to learn about my man Stephane Picq.
No doubt. The music in this video is by Alexandre Ekian though.
Only arranged, I thought?
I believe you're right, he did a good job with the material he started with, though.
@@RyumaXtheXKing Alexandre Ekian did a master race version, so much that the PC music of this game completely fall flat. The Amiga musics are simply over atmospheric !!!
@@dlfrsilver not exactly. The adlib tunes are better and there are also more of them.
The manual only has 4 pages :) and if the game is not cracked answering wrong harms your progress :)
Why not remake of this??
Two things: 1st. I wonder what's behind the "CENSORED FOR CZcams" rectangle at 1:39:55 2nd. I believe this game is just impossible to complete without hints of any kind
My expert, KGB-grade deduction skills lead me to a two-word conclusion, comrade:
Pixel titties.
Does anyone or can anyone here recommend how to play this game on today's PC's? Specifically windows 8.1, would l need to use Dos Box? And will the soundtrack be the same??? I remember playing the demo of this on the Amiga, but looking to get into the game proper after all these years!!!
To play the Amiga version you need to use WinUAE. An Amiga emulator. You also need the specific ROM for the game. Also the disks images for the game.
yuvraj01 hi. Not using the Amiga version, but there is a DOS version of this game that runs through DOSBox just fine.
@@Bellocks1 But the soundtrack will not be the same if you use the DOS version
@@ancalimonungol the soundtrack is very, very similar. for all the pains this guy would go through to get an Amiga emulator to work, the DOSBox version is very easy, and a very good version.
@@Bellocks1 The DOS soundtrack is not as good as the Amiga version. But maybe the mt32 emulation is better than adlib one if he can set it up.
I still don’t understand what happened
The New Birth conspirators want Protopopov to appear on TV and announce his retirement (while the real Gorbachev has been kidnapped) so they can replace him with a hardliner communist. He was nabbed by Maksim before the scheme could be carried out.
Whats the names of these soundtracks?

Great game, terrible ending.

"Censored some paintings for CZcams." ROFL come on
Some people on CZcams are SUPER sensitive. I've uploaded videos where you barely saw a nipple, but there was one, 1 pixel big, someone flagged (meaning the video might be taken down, blocked, my account gets a strike, etc). Have happened several times no matter how minor it is. YET a lot of channels post these things, HUGE boobs and penises, cartoon, 3D, REAL, you name it, and no one bats an eye. Unfair.
Interesting CZcams is okay with images of decaptations and other gruesome violence.
They are more acceptable of stuff like that if one is partnered with some big company that helps protecting them.
@I AM IRONCLAW! So extremist organisations and random little CZcamsrs who have leaked videos?
So much ow.
I beat this game & in the end the text read "Your Rank: Donald Trump"
Imagine a CCP game like this today working for XI Ping. well the way way the world is today communism is taking hold sadly
