      That's right ... I don't know why but there is an "Amiga touch" that's inimitable ... the sounds ... the graphics ... Dunno.

      You are correct, AmigaOmega, and I knew that when typing the comment, but agreed with WoL cuz they (not a single entity) are the Masters of the Universe!

      It certainly is a solid game on the system.

    The graphics quality is similar to that of the Mega Drive version, but the voices... And the sound effects quality... WAY better than Mega Drive. Amiga was always known for the best BGM and SFX.

    • @ryzmaker11
      @ryzmaker11 Před 6 lety +5

      Graphic quality maybe but the portraits during the cutscenes look bad on Amiga.
      Then sound FX and voices are better on Amiga but this version runs at 25 FPS vs 60 FPS on Mega Drive.
      Then Amiga version has loading times and more likely worse controls.
      And IMO the music on Amiga pales compared to the kickass Mega Drive music by Rob Hubbard and Brian Schmidt!
      The only thing I really like in the Amiga version is the cool flashing effect when destroying some stuff but that's about it and since the Amiga version was released 1 year later, that's a rather light compensation.
      Overall the Mega Drive original version remains the best and the Mega Drive wins to an even greater extent with Jungle Strike.

    I like that game a lot ! Everything is great to me : graphics, sounds, animations, briefings ... I was bad as hell and didn't finished the first mission, but I liked it. I got a friend back in the days that played it well and I like watching himm play. But I can say now that RickyC play it even better ! Thanks for this video :)

    Had This On The Mega-Drive and The Amiga, if you ask me this is the best of the two, the graphics are more Hi Res, and the sound is Amazing, the expositions and chopper sounds are Excellent.

      @@felipepontael Hey Felipe, that is not a bad idea at all, it was a fun day doing that scene...in front of a white board. The tech since then has vastly improved. By the way it was me who composed the music and sound FX for the game. (Jason A.S. Whitely) that was fun too, hope you like the audio.

    The MD/Genesis had a bit better intros, but the Amiga version had better graphics and sound. Even the menus are way better. A great game I played on the Amiga, and I also played on the MD/Genesis. The Amiga version is way better.

    Considering the Amigas pedigree this is a garbage port. Those cheap ott sound effects 🙉🤮

  • @HermitOfBlackLake
    @HermitOfBlackLake Před 7 lety +2

    The megadrive version was way way better. But this version was ok. Plus the Amiga version came with a free pair of desert strike gardening gloves. But that was only for a limited period. The megadrive versions came with a signed photo of Pamela Anderson again for a limited period

    • @pferreira1983
      @pferreira1983 Před 7 lety

      What's Pamela Anderson got to do with Desert Strike?

    • @HermitOfBlackLake
      @HermitOfBlackLake Před 7 lety +1

      In the early 90's she was pretty popular with teenage boys just like Desert Strike so it was a no brainer to inlclude signed photos with early copies of the game. Also she was a pretty big fan of helicopters back then. I think she even opened a helicopter museum in California in 1991 but that might just be bollocks.

    • @pferreira1983
      @pferreira1983 Před 7 lety

      So she endorsed Desert Strike? Now that does feel random. Would never put those two together.

      Disagree. They changed the graphics for the Amiga version and the portraits during the cutscenes look bad. Then Amiga version runs at 25 FPS vs 60 FPS on Mega Drive (Amiga games often have frame rate issues). Then Amiga version has loading times. Also I wonder: how are the controls on Amiga? Since Amiga games usually rely on 1 button controller while the Mega Drive has at least 3 buttons...
      And IMO Amiga version's music is bland and pales compared to the kickass Mega Drive music by Rob Hubbard and Brian Schmidt!
      The only real advantage of the Amiga version is the cool flashing effect when destroying some stuff but that's about it and since the Amiga version was released 1 year later, that's a light compensation.

    In the past, known as Electronic Arts. Today, known as Electronic Trolls!
    And one of those video game companies responsible who caused the devolution of Video Gaming!
    Games become more and more dumbed down and bland, with each release!
    Mafia 1/2/3dead, Mess Effect 1/2/3dead/4decomposition, Thief 1/2/3/4dead, Fallout 1/2/3dead/4pestilence,
    Dragon Age 1/2dead/3rottenCorpse, Gothic 1/2/3dying/4rumor, Risen 1/2dead/3undead, Resident Evil 1-4/5dead/6WTF!?
    And the list goes on and on. There is also the problem with too much ignored but good franchises. Its just a mess!!

    • @jdtroup198683
      @jdtroup198683 Před 7 lety +1

      Gunter Hermann Not true you can't blame a company devolution for gaming you could blame the lack of interest,cost of gaming,a more complex gaming cycle,the loss of middle market,the rise of in crowdfunding but let's face it you scapegoating of a company sounds childish and people loves thier games. As for people like you make it nuisance that gaming in the past was great but don't remember we had more problems than solutions

    • @YukoValis
      @YukoValis Před 7 lety +4

      I honestly think Gunter is correct. EA buys out indie developers, shuts them down, and then does horrible things with their IP. They focus test on what they "think" people want, without asking them.
