Two Categories that most people can benefit from
Discover is a must in your credit card arsenal
It is essential to MY strategy, however there are people who don't want to deal with rotating categories.

Discover crushed it with this upcoming quarter. I’ll use my Discover it for just about everything since almost every store I shop at accepts Apple Pay.
Chase will probably have Gas in 3rd Q also.

The CFF usually does Wal-Mart & PayPal for Q4. If that pattern continues, they’re gonna do gas too for Q3…

Definitely some solid categories this quarter!! I'm sure people will get a lot of value out of this.
These are pretty good categories. I have to believe that Chase will also have gas next quarter, which would create yet another dilemma for those who have both the CFF and the IT.
To answer the question about Garmin Pay, I recently got a Garmin smartwatch, but it’s one of the lower tier ones that doesn’t have that feature. I haven’t done much with digital wallets in general and am not familiar with GP’s footprint, so I decided I could go without it.
I activated this morning on my Discover It Cash Back. It will be my dedicated gas card for at least 3 months along side my Blue Cash Everyday at 3% and my Amazon Chase Prime card at 2% and if I use a digital wallet outside of Walmart and Sam's Club at 5%.

5% at gas stations is pretty nice. I don't use digital wallets though.
Gas is a great category this will make my Citi Custom cash card a dining card for the quarter.
Or for dining or gas, you can use either card.

Where I live digital wallets are not that useful. Kind of hoped for PayPal instead of Digital Wallets. Not a fan when Amazon and PayPal are grouped together. Can max out $1500 in Amazon pretty easy especially when the holidays are in that quarter.
If you happen to shop online for anything there may be an Apple Pay option
@@anandr1385 Good point. Where I live though and the places I really shop are Amazon and local stores that don't do tap-to-pay. The exception is gas stations that do tap-to-pay.

Well the experiment is over, I used my American express blue everyday credit card to pay my car insurance "online" to see if I get 3% back. Well my car insurance company doesn't take American express, but it does accept PayPal payments which my blue everyday credit card is linked too. So after I paid my policy online I got a 1% cash back reward 🎉😅, it was the same result when I tried to pay my utilities online/app. When they say Retail, they mean Retail purchases.
Oh I also paid a parking ticket online, no good as well.

What about PayPal at gas station, does it count as digital wallet? By using Paypal you will get some discount on the gas price automatically, it will be cool to have 5% back later. 😊

How long have you had the discover it? If it’s your first year remember there’s cashback match. So it’s really 10% back.

Discover actually used to put the whole year's calendar out all at once, giving Chase all kinds of time to decide whether to overlap or not. now they only are a couple weeks earlier.

Have known Discover to give out 4% on everything ad 5% on gas up-to a combined $1,500 combined in six months. Though that is a version of a retention offers they give out.
I actually am getting 5% on everything with Discover thru the end of June from a targeted offer. Capped at $2K in purchases but Discover getting my swipes currently.
