My job is to travel around the country in an EV, testing the EV charging stations. I spent ~60 hrs a week driving various EVs in various conditions, in various terrain and climates and situations, over different ranges.
EVs are dangerous, expensive toys. For your own safety, do not relegate your transportation needs exclusively to an EV. Freezing temperatures kill their battery life, which translates to a shrunken "gas tank."
Many modern gasoline vehicles are more energy efficient than EVs and are cheaper to refuel per mile, and modern gas cars have very clean emissions.
Everything you have hear about EVs from mainstream sources is ADVERTISING.
They will not tell you that minor repairs and maintenance can only be done at limited locations and will cost many times more than real cars.
Also, any time you plug into a fast-charging station, all of that EV's data (the owner's data) is uploaded and recorded onto the station's owner's network, and the charging cables can even be locked down onto the vehicle, preventing it from leaving.

For someone whose job it is to test EVs and their charging infrastructure you sure have a very poor understanding of the technology behind them.
Like, I don't expect my mother-in-law to know what to do if right when you're charging, your 12V system dies and your car gets stuck to a charger. But for you to not know where the manual release is is just worrying.

@@AlanWilliams-su4bs They already do that for things that the pilots must manipulate. The landing gear raise/lower lever has had a wheel shaped knob on the end for decades. The flap position selector has had an airfoil shaped knob for just as long. The controls for throttle and propeller pitch (on turboprop aircraft) are differentiable by feel.
Mishaps still happen, though. There was that crash in Nepal when the pilot in command asked for flap deployment and the pilot monitoring managed to feather the propellers, instead, and failed to notice.
Replacing gage clusters with glass displays is a separate issue, as pilots actually have to look at the instruments. Outside of injured pilots breaking the bezels, so that they can touch the needles to figure out what is displayed, visual presentation of needed information is the sole criterion for success.

The only difference is that typical ICE cars store more energy to begin with, so it'll be a smaller percentage of energy used. Either way, an iPhone could be charged over 5,400 from a Tesla EV battery, so even with larger screens it's still a small percentage of the over energy available, especially compared with that used to move the vehicle, heat it and cool it etc.

@@c0ldyloxproductions324It doesn’t matter how energy is stored, fuel tanks and batteries are just a way of storing chemical energy, the total amount of energy available is still totally dependant on how much energy has been stored in the vehicle. Converting and moving that energy from one place to another, such as fuel to battery, and converting from chemical to electrical, such as battery to DC electricity, just changed its state. A certain sized fuel tank could store exactly the same amount of usable energy as a certain sized EV battery, in which case both cars would achieve exactly the same results, be that distance, heating, powered screens etc. Obviously assuming all losses were taken into consideration, such as ICE loosing about 60% if it’s stored chemical energy during conversion to electrical energy.

Electric vehicles are a rip off, the batteries are unreliable, expensive to replace and are useless to people who drive long distances.
Electricity is every bit as expensive as petrol and will get worse if it manages to get a monopoly on the roads.
Electricity is not environmentally friendly because most of it comes from gas and coal due to maintenance costs of the environmentally friendly options being prohibitively expensive and at least a decade away from competitive. The only truly potentially optimal electricity source is nuclear but the fear of nuclear limits it’s growth to a crawl.

The eu released a report which states that micro waves in the EU emit the same Co2 as 7 million ICE vehicles so there must be something funky going on. All independent reports on 2.4gz and 5gzh frequencies are difficult to find and are often "ridiculed" by established scientific pro's (there's a double meaning there)

I grew up in Manitoba, Canada, and it was not uncommon to come outside in the morning to an ice block, which would be your car. You brush off the snow, scrape the windows, and then sit in it for half an hour while it warms up to defrost it. And seeing as it was manual transmission it would whine as the oil would never lubricate enough to allow shifting for 10 miles. A person I watched on YT has a Tesla in Manitoba, and they have, while charging, used battery heat to warm up the interior and clear windows; it was a nice feature. Still, he can not run this feature on the car while driving because it drastically depletes his battery. He shared a website that recommended the best winter clothing to wear so you did not have to use any defrost which depletes his range.
My Great-grandfather was born when they used horses for farming, he would hitch up the team in the morning to the wagon and drive them into town. The idea around shifting energy sources is to advance, not retract in prosperity; EVs are all bells and whistles but a step backward.
