      False!
      Jim Lee's Wolverine has blue colored stripes.
      From the Omega Red chapter to at least the executioner's song, its stripes are blue, that's for sure! Even Andy Kubert did it with the blue stripes. You can check, it's not reflections.

      Agreed. It's always been black. If the stripes were meant to be blue, then his mask would be as well since they do the same effect there.

      I own them all, and _I_ definitely wouldn't be so bold with that statement. The One:12 aside, there's aspects of both the Legends and Mafex that do it better. The two-part head is the superior engineering with Hasbro. Drastically eliminating sloppy paint (and the plastic is all wonky on the Mafex one). Plus, the proportions are more accurate on the Hasbro. But I think the engineering and overall design (albeit like a taller, more slender Logan) on the Mafex is better.

    The Mafex one looks the best to me. The unmasked head looks just like the cartoon and matching the stripes to the other parts of his costume makes more sense. I do think the claws are too long.
    That said, their figures are too expensive for me for being what they are; A 6-inch format and for not having cloth costumes. If I could get a KO Mafex Wolverine-like for some of the other Mafexes, I'd buy one.
    I bought the 12-inch Legends Wolverine and overall I love it. I paid $30 for it used and compared to the last Wolverine I bought -the first Legends Wolverine in 2003, it is amazing. I find unmasked hair to be a reasonable realistic version of how the hair would look in real -life. That and the claws not being straight were the only slight downsides. The body shape is how Wolverine should be - stout and muscular. The heads have loads of attitude also.
    I give props to Mezco for daring to be different on their figures but the only one that works is the Captain America. Wolverine's laced boots with wings look goofy. The shoulder pads are not bad - much better than the brown and tan version which just look like football pads are not convincing.

    also i think mafex is the clear winner here, i don't know why some people would think less of the figure and say ML is the best one after seeing this review. maybe they're just too cheap to spent the $80 on one figure? but that also doesn't make sense because whole lot of people are buying a whole wave of ML consist of maybe 1 or 2 good figures with the rest are straight up trash. I have the ML and the only pose i have him in is the semi-crouch angry pose with the hands down on his side. any other poses it looks off, with the shoulder pad completely turned upside down or the shoulder can't raise up to get that Hugh Jackman pose with the claw next to his face. For $20, yes it's a great deal because it was one of the better figure Hasbro put out, but at the end it lacks the high quality feel of the high end figures.
    and for people that want to argue that $20 ML is better and than proceed to buy a $50 head sculpt for that Wolverine,.. just don't bother telling people you think the mafex at $80 is too expensive. Because i have seen idiots praising some custom blah blah blah head sculpt on other channel saying they bought one and than says the mafex is too expensive.

Though some custom heads are expensive, even still your not dropping a 100 for something that should be on point from the start. I don't know why some of you keep clamoring on about how it feels for when you put it on a shelf, you won't be touching it however you WILL be looking at it and all I see is another sad inaccurate Wolverine fig.

AND once again, the msrp is $75 from the exchange rate from JPY. what makes you think they actually intended to use black stripe and shorter claw? The promo images from day one has been blue stripe and long claw and yet some reviewer is going to buy it and say the color came out wrong? And the claw is wrong? Lol, don’t be a hypocrite, If you personally don’t like it, don’t call it incorrect. I can see a lot more wrong with the cheapo ML, but you probably don’t want to hear that because it may hurt your feelings. The Mafex one doesn't come across as a toy at all. It's so much more fluid in design and movement. It looks and feels like a higher-end item. And higher-end doesn't necessarily mean less likely to have limbs fall off.

    If anyone's complaining about the blue stripes, they should look up "90's Wolverine." If someone is going to say they were always black (with blue shadowing), then the same thing applies to the gloves, shoulder pads and blue portion of the boots. All of those parts were often inked with the exact same blue/black effect. And the only parts that were most certainly always black, was that particular portion of the mask and boots.
    Originally I wasn't the biggest fan of those blue stripes when they showed the figure off whenever last year. But now that I've had a refresher course in how that was all coloured in the comics, I'm 100% fine with it. I actually like the unique approach they took to it. One could say it's overall more comic accurate than any other, from that era at least.

    • @ReeceHoward06
      @ReeceHoward06 Před 4 lety +3

      Even though I'm fine with blue stripes myself (I can repaint them If I ever feel the need), the black stripes are the definitive look for the costume. Any time they were blue is an artistic license and liberty as they are not meant to be that color, which is why many fans don't recall them ever being blue. It's like how some artists in the late 80's/early 90's (like Todd McFarlane) colored Spidey red and black with blue highlights. Everyone knows what's the definitive look and color scheme of the era, and for Wolverine it was black stripes. As someone who defends this figure, the one thing I can't fault the haters for is wanting the black stripes.

    • @Chalor.
      @Chalor. Před 4 lety

      @@ReeceHoward06
      Oh yeah, I totally get all that. I've just learned to like the uniqueness of it. But after looking at enough pictures, I see that the inker really coloured the stripes the exact same as the shoulder pads, gloves, etc. (like I was mentioning). But.....even though it's as if the stripes are the same colour as those other parts (either blue or black), of course the stripes were always supposed to be black. And like you said, you could always paint them. Not something too hard, just a little time consuming. It's a real interesting choice for sure. And I doubt they'll do a repaint like with Spidey; since those stripes would be pretty hard to paint blue and black.
