The new X-Men 97 is probably the best wolverine out now with all the updates and unmasked head. But i always thought the movie wolverine figures were underrated.
So cool how true Hasbro has been to Wolverine's comic appearances. It'd be nice to have a Wolverine with toe articulation. One day they'll get it 100% right!
This was another great video Manny. I have such a hard time choosing my favorite Wolverine, but this list is definitely all the best ones in one place. You have moved way way way up in my rankings compared to 2 years ago. I still need to get around to doing a part 2.

those first 30 years of Wolvie are just beyond incredible. oh and that 275 sculpt has the best version of the claws, i love those compared to the little sticks on the other versions : D

That X-men 97 fig is the first wolverine I’ve bought in forever and probably the last one I’m gonna need for a looong time. Almost perfect. Exactly what I picture in my head when I hear “Wolverine.” Picked up the 97 Cyclops today and I feel the same way about that one.

Great video, l have most of the Wolverines from Toy Biz, Select & Hasbro. My joint favorite is the Tiger Claw & the brown one. About time we got an update of the son of Wolverine. Have you never got a set of metal claws.
For me it is the vhs one I love the cell shading and plus since I’m a keep in the box collector I love the vhs style but since I have the 97 also I can see why many would prefer that

Fun video! Small point of consideration - Wolverine's brown suit first appeared in 1980 courtesy of John Byrne. This storyline is waaay back when Kitty Pryde first joins the X-Men and the Outback era doesn't start till more than 8 years later. That doesn't sound like much but given the number of epic classic X-Men stories that occurred in that time... it's difficult to see the brown suit being remotely associated as the Outback costume. I'm glad you got the chance to do the professional work directly for Hasbro and totally get why you would do it again!
Thanks bud! Also, I’m aware as I read everything X-Men but I don’t get technical about it as he wore it throughout the entire 80’s era. I can associate it with any story arch within that era. You know what I mean?
I’m definitely going to put the old man logan head on that new 50th anniversary wolverine and saber tooth two pack. That cowboy outfit is my minds eye look for old man Logan. In my opinion hasbro definitely needs to do a 50th anniversary two pack with an old Logan and x-23 (must be pinless).
I think I agree with your list, Xmanny. If they do a new brown and tan/orange Wolverine that's pinless, and it looks as nice as the new pinless yellow & blue, then the brown and tan will be my favorite. I have always preferred that costume to the blue & yellow, and I always will. You just don't see a lot of yellow and blue wolverine animals running around in the wild, but there's plenty of brown & beige/tan ones. Just sayin'. ;) You did a great list, Manny. If they used the X-Force claws on the X-Men 97 Wolverine, that would have been perfect. It's great that you have X-Men 97 and X-Force Wolverine on your top 10. I also consider X-Force Wolvie one of the best Legends Wolvie figures to date.
Oh yeah just keep in mind that this video was made before the Wolverine anniversary packs came out. So it wouldn’t be fair for me to include something that I didn’t own at the time.

They should release a "Team X" version of Wolverine. When he and Sabretooth were used to be old pals with Maverick and Silverfox fight along with them. That would be pretty cool nostalgic.
Personally, the best is Love Triangle Wolverine: Light yellow makes a good contrast and balance with the dark blue. Not darker orange than Apocalypse wave Logan, and not lighter than X-Men 97 Wolvie (and I prefer old masked head to the new animated masked head), and obviously, the accessories makes the difference.
Funny I just watched Logan for the first time and fuck man… heartbreaking yet so beautiful. Now probably will want to pick up a new legends fig since I only got the house of x version. Likely will go with the 97 tiger stripe since that’s my definitive look. Tho brown suit is very much tied
Now that's something for me. Wolverine is my second favorite character in marvel universe (cause we all know who will always be number one XD) But if it comes to Logan, I really can have so many versions of this character. Not gonna lie it would be hard to rank directly which wolvie is on which spot but just to mention my favorites: My ALL TIME FAVORITE and only one will be VHS Wolverine and here's why shading in this case actually looks cool In my opinion and really makes him stand out. The blue the yellow is in perfect shade, Calm head and ANGRY head that's what is essential for Logan, he's gotta be angry. Don't really care about the pins. only downside is lack of fists and unmasked head but the meme picture is always dope And here is 97 one which has no shading, darker blue, pinless, sculpted hair which look IMO really realistic. THE BEST unmasked wolverine head and calm head. And even tho they still are the same costume they are really different. So I kept 2 xp And last tiger stripe one I would like to get is the one from 3pack, cause bone claws, battle damaged head and regular angry head, darker blue is always something new. shame it's a 3pack ; p Brown suit wolverine, the retro one is IMO the best. I like the lighter brown and option to have another unmasked head. But now since this one is hard to get and they made him quite long time ago I'm waiting for the upgrade which I have no doubt they make. Weapon X wolverine is this outstanding version and just a killer machine, + I'm happy you showed some love to this movie Hulk vs wolverine since it's one of my favorites and even if it is easy comparing to the newer ones. I don't care. X-Force one, badass costume, Good articulation and SIC claws. I really miss only the angry head especially in this uniform 5pack battle damaged wolverine, this one is something I really wanted. Bruised and angry in blood wolverine. Even if he doesn't have much blood, the screaming angry head is one of the best ones of all time. The bruised one really matches with how much pain he has to deal with, and some scars on the bare chest, Every single Hugh Jackman wolverine: Likeness is spot on. Every single one has something unique: under shirt, bone claws, angry clenched teeth, jacket, screaming head, fists, a little smirk, and the one in suit, Battle damaged kinda, Full Fury head and bloody claws. The one with motorbike is like essential and spectacular wolverine in civilian clothes. I love the angry head, wich shows this animalistic, side, patch head, and whole motorbike is a really cool accessory Old man logan from 2pack, perfect figure incarnation, The jacket, the cowboy hat, Full beard, even if he looked old he still looked badass and this figure shows it very well. I think these are my favorite. If it comes to the others...... blue and gold training uniform is a really dope figure but not my favorite design still doesn't mean I won't get it. One of the best logan unmasked heads and mirror reflection of blue and yellow, AoA weapon X. Really dope alternate version of wolverine, the hair, this fitting look even tho it has no light blue or yellow it matches. and pirate hand or at least how I call it, is a dope design choice. Cowboy wolverine with this red sword, and kinda underrated IMO angry head is a very cool match. And even tho we will be getting much better one......which I will refer to later.......This one is still unique somehow. Love this smirk with cowboy hat. HoX this is one I think I still have to get even tho my perfect and definitive colors for wolvie will be always blue and yellow, with time I really like this brown astonishing version. + smiling head is spot on and very outstanding since he is the best at what he does and he really likes it. Still considering the first old man logan in jacket cause I really loved the issue borderline in logan series and these are the clothes he was wearing here, and the one from 2pack when he still did not came to 616 won't match IMO. First appearance is the one I have to get still and one of the best hulk action figures of all time sitll. Perfect match. Perfect 2pack + I love these first concept designs like with spidey, hulk, iron man and now I have to get wolverine. + exchanging head with one of these tiger stripe ones to have some options with normal belt without the X logo is something I really would like to do. The one from Days of future past is a figure which I would like to see get upgraded. + I don't really need this sentinel. Now if it comes to some new wolvie figures..... new cowboy is dope but shame he won't have angry head. Black costume one is a fine upgrade compared to the retro one I would like to get him but at lower price Considering Patch and Joe Fixit.....but this is not really a must have version for me since it's just wolverine in white tuxedo. And I'm fine with new Joe Fixit we got. And brood wolverine would be a dope figure to get but there isn't much to like about this version since he only appeared like that single time and insantly regenerated. If he would be something like a danger or possessed killing machine which he was supposed to be that would make me like this figure so much more. But design is only cool. Not enough Still the versions I'm waiting is PERFECT Astonishing wolverine which we have to finally get. and I really hope he will be part of this 50th anniversary. Team X. This is really interesting uniform, like a soldier wolverine. Ultimate but not the first one but second.... Black suit with yellow stripes. They masacred this one long time ago so....he definetly needs to be upgraded. Wolverine in armor when he lost his ability to regenerate, suit made by superior spider-man that's a cool design in my opinion. and like I said earlier new brown suit wolverine, and days of future past. Eventually if they would upgrade x-force and weapon x I probably would get them too xp You mentioned Laura X-23 but we need his actual son Daken and just for Fun.....Skeleton wolverine when he got blown up by NITRO. I could only afford a few figures in 2016, so I only bought Kitty and Rogue at the time. I traded for the Phoenix and the retro packaged Byrne costume Wolverine later.
My best Wolverine item is Hulk 180 and 181. My favourite Wolverine figure is probably the X-Men '97 version. It being one of the newest has a lot to do with that.
The old man Logan figure is good too, but my favorite wolverine figure has to be the tank top version. The tank top version reminds me of the Wolverine from X2 when he was fighting the soldiers at the mansion.
I wish they'd make a broken bone claw wolverine from the kubert cover right after he had tha metal sucked outa him and he gets in like what that first fight and gets the claws on one hand shattered
Also I can't wait for Hasbro to release a Brown suit and X- Force Wolverine on the X-Men 97 body . Then I can be done collecting the Wolverines for awhile .
I have the exact same thoughts about the issues with the previous tiger stripe wolverines. While this one is the best I still have an issue with it. I don't understand why the blue doesn't match the other figures in the 97 series(bishop and mainly cyclops. Cyclops colors are perfect although I hate the head sculpts.) And I agree about the arm hair they look like rice crispies on this one just paint them. For no 2 i would've picked the vintage wave version because of the arm hair and I think the more reddish hue is a little more accurate. And the orange tint of the apocalypse wave version makes that head sculpt work nicely for the vintage wave outback.
I want a good berserker rage Wolverine with a ripped up uniform, battle wounds with adamantium bones exposed, and an angry head with wild hair, sharp canine teeth, etc
Hmmm. I bought 97’ one but it’s more cartoony to me than comic. It looks good. I honestly haven’t even opened it. It is still on card. Personally I gave Can of Beams claws I put in my favorite Wolverines. I think the best is the Juggernaut wave brown and orange. It is my favorite. I love the new stocky buck. Love that thing when it was unveiled. Yes I love the Hugh Jackman figures too. But stocky, jacked, and the more organic colors trump for me. Pins are where I came from so pinless doesn’t necessarily trump pins to me. I love that AOA Logan too. AOA is easily my favorite subset figures they’ve made. Even with the crappy Scott. I’m surprised 50th Wolverine anniversary hasn’t seen Orange and Brown Wolverine in the new pinless tech announced. I also agree with sculpted arm hair. A for effort D for execution. Just paint them on. Great vid. Very enjoyable.
My favorite Hasbro ml wolverine is a toss up between vintage wave brown costume and X-men 97 wolverine but my favorite overall Wolverine is between mafex brown Mezco steel box tiger stripe and mezco street clothes Wolverine
I think heat claws Wolverine has the best unmasked face, but I do love #275 Wolverine regardless. The new Animated Series one is my favorite, but Love Triangle would be with a better masked head.

Because that was my favorite era of his brown costume in the 80’s. I know he wore it before the Outback team but that was the first time I read a comic with that Wolverine. Honestly, naming this costume of any storyline in the 80’s is not wrong as long as it was within the 80’s. I don’t get technical about it.

My only issue with 97 Wolverine is the face (I prefer comic face or realistic face), and the claws are ok looking but not as sturdy looking as Heat Claws Wolverine.
All awesome figures. On your top choice you said that you’d want a double ball-peg for the neck but I honestly want them to stop doing them because they just refuse to do them properly and end up cutting up the neck to make up for their lack of engineering as we saw Dwight post with the Haslab Giant Man recently. Just engineer it properly!!!

Okay so hasbro for now he did the 60th anniversary of spider man he continues the 50th anniversary of wolverine but we don't see the captain america 60th anniversary and 21th anniversary of spider man movies. I want to see this from hasbro oh and my 2 favorite wolverine figures he is the wolverine 97 who I have this and the baf bone breaker wolverine.
I know this is a strict marvel legends list but I think the tiger stripe and brown suit mafex wolverines have the closest cowls to Jim lees artwork I love them

It's great that you have X-Men 97 and X-Force Wolverine on your top 10. I also consider X-Force Wolvie one of the best Legends Wolvie figures to date.
The new Sabretooth 2pk Logan figure is honestly a great one and is probably gonna be slept on.
Oh yeah just keep in mind that this video was made before the Wolverine anniversary packs came out. So it wouldn’t be fair for me to include something that I didn’t own at the time.

They should release a "Team X" version of Wolverine. When he and Sabretooth were used to be old pals with Maverick and Silverfox fight along with them. That would be pretty cool nostalgic.
Personally, the best is Love Triangle Wolverine: Light yellow makes a good contrast and balance with the dark blue. Not darker orange than Apocalypse wave Logan, and not lighter than X-Men 97 Wolvie (and I prefer old masked head to the new animated masked head), and obviously, the accessories makes the difference.
Funny I just watched Logan for the first time and fuck man… heartbreaking yet so beautiful. Now probably will want to pick up a new legends fig since I only got the house of x version. Likely will go with the 97 tiger stripe since that’s my definitive look. Tho brown suit is very much tied

I’d say the best ML Wolverine to date is the X-Men 97 one. But, my personal overall favorite Wolverine is the brown suit MAFEX one.
Now that's something for me. Wolverine is my second favorite character in marvel universe (cause we all know who will always be number one XD)
But if it comes to Logan, I really can have so many versions of this character.
Not gonna lie it would be hard to rank directly which wolvie is on which spot but just to mention my favorites:
My ALL TIME FAVORITE and only one will be VHS Wolverine and here's why shading in this case actually looks cool In my opinion and really makes him stand out. The blue the yellow is in perfect shade, Calm head and ANGRY head that's what is essential for Logan, he's gotta be angry. Don't really care about the pins. only downside is lack of fists and unmasked head but the meme picture is always dope
And here is 97 one which has no shading, darker blue, pinless, sculpted hair which look IMO really realistic. THE BEST unmasked wolverine head and calm head. And even tho they still are the same costume they are really different. So I kept 2 xp
And last tiger stripe one I would like to get is the one from 3pack, cause bone claws, battle damaged head and regular angry head, darker blue is always something new. shame it's a 3pack ; p
Brown suit wolverine, the retro one is IMO the best. I like the lighter brown and option to have another unmasked head. But now since this one is hard to get and they made him quite long time ago I'm waiting for the upgrade which I have no doubt they make.
Weapon X wolverine is this outstanding version and just a killer machine, + I'm happy you showed some love to this movie Hulk vs wolverine since it's one of my favorites and even if it is easy comparing to the newer ones. I don't care.
X-Force one, badass costume, Good articulation and SIC claws. I really miss only the angry head especially in this uniform
5pack battle damaged wolverine, this one is something I really wanted. Bruised and angry in blood wolverine. Even if he doesn't have much blood, the screaming angry head is one of the best ones of all time. The bruised one really matches with how much pain he has to deal with, and some scars on the bare chest,
Every single Hugh Jackman wolverine: Likeness is spot on. Every single one has something unique: under shirt, bone claws, angry clenched teeth, jacket, screaming head, fists, a little smirk, and the one in suit, Battle damaged kinda, Full Fury head and bloody claws.
The one with motorbike is like essential and spectacular wolverine in civilian clothes. I love the angry head, wich shows this animalistic, side, patch head, and whole motorbike is a really cool accessory
Old man logan from 2pack, perfect figure incarnation, The jacket, the cowboy hat, Full beard, even if he looked old he still looked badass and this figure shows it very well.
I think these are my favorite.

blue and gold training uniform is a really dope figure but not my favorite design still doesn't mean I won't get it. One of the best logan unmasked heads and mirror reflection of blue and yellow,
AoA weapon X. Really dope alternate version of wolverine, the hair, this fitting look even tho it has no light blue or yellow it matches. and pirate hand or at least how I call it, is a dope design choice.
Cowboy wolverine with this red sword, and kinda underrated IMO angry head is a very cool match. And even tho we will be getting much better one......which I will refer to later.......This one is still unique somehow. Love this smirk with cowboy hat.
HoX this is one I think I still have to get even tho my perfect and definitive colors for wolvie will be always blue and yellow, with time I really like this brown astonishing version. + smiling head is spot on and very outstanding since he is the best at what he does and he really likes it.
Still considering the first old man logan in jacket cause I really loved the issue borderline in logan series and these are the clothes he was wearing here, and the one from 2pack when he still did not came to 616 won't match IMO.
First appearance is the one I have to get still and one of the best hulk action figures of all time sitll. Perfect match. Perfect 2pack + I love these first concept designs like with spidey, hulk, iron man and now I have to get wolverine. + exchanging head with one of these tiger stripe ones to have some options with normal belt without the X logo is something I really would like to do.
The one from Days of future past is a figure which I would like to see get upgraded. + I don't really need this sentinel.
Now if it comes to some new wolvie figures.....

Considering Patch and Joe Fixit.....but this is not really a must have version for me since it's just wolverine in white tuxedo. And I'm fine with new Joe Fixit we got.
And brood wolverine would be a dope figure to get but there isn't much to like about this version since he only appeared like that single time and insantly regenerated. If he would be something like a danger or possessed killing machine which he was supposed to be that would make me like this figure so much more. But design is only cool. Not enough

I could only afford a few figures in 2016, so I only bought Kitty and Rogue at the time. I traded for the Phoenix and the retro packaged Byrne costume Wolverine later.

My favourite Wolverine figure is probably the X-Men '97 version. It being one of the newest has a lot to do with that.
The old man Logan figure is good too, but my favorite wolverine figure has to be the tank top version. The tank top version reminds me of the Wolverine from X2 when he was fighting the soldiers at the mansion.
They did an incredible job with that updated Old Man Logan.
I wish they'd make a broken bone claw wolverine from the kubert cover right after he had tha metal sucked outa him and he gets in like what that first fight and gets the claws on one hand shattered

I have the exact same thoughts about the issues with the previous tiger stripe wolverines. While this one is the best I still have an issue with it. I don't understand why the blue doesn't match the other figures in the 97 series(bishop and mainly cyclops. Cyclops colors are perfect although I hate the head sculpts.) And I agree about the arm hair they look like rice crispies on this one just paint them.
For no 2 i would've picked the vintage wave version because of the arm hair and I think the more reddish hue is a little more accurate. And the orange tint of the apocalypse wave version makes that head sculpt work nicely for the vintage wave outback.

Hmmm. I bought 97’ one but it’s more cartoony to me than comic. It looks good. I honestly haven’t even opened it. It is still on card. Personally I gave Can of Beams claws I put in my favorite Wolverines. I think the best is the Juggernaut wave brown and orange. It is my favorite. I love the new stocky buck. Love that thing when it was unveiled. Yes I love the Hugh Jackman figures too. But stocky, jacked, and the more organic colors trump for me. Pins are where I came from so pinless doesn’t necessarily trump pins to me. I love that AOA Logan too. AOA is easily my favorite subset figures they’ve made. Even with the crappy Scott. I’m surprised 50th Wolverine anniversary hasn’t seen Orange and Brown Wolverine in the new pinless tech announced. I also agree with sculpted arm hair. A for effort D for execution. Just paint them on. Great vid. Very enjoyable.

Because that was my favorite era of his brown costume in the 80’s. I know he wore it before the Outback team but that was the first time I read a comic with that Wolverine. Honestly, naming this costume of any storyline in the 80’s is not wrong as long as it was within the 80’s. I don’t get technical about it.

My only issue with 97 Wolverine is the face (I prefer comic face or realistic face), and the claws are ok looking but not as sturdy looking as Heat Claws Wolverine.

Still 80’s era. 1980 debut and Outback X-Men were in the 80’s era. So same era to me and it’s just easier to label it as such.

On your top choice you said that you’d want a double ball-peg for the neck but I honestly want them to stop doing them because they just refuse to do them properly and end up cutting up the neck to make up for their lack of engineering as we saw Dwight post with the Haslab Giant Man recently.
