- Lloyd "Teddy" and Nancy Johnson have been married for nearly 35 years, and run well-known blues bar "Teddy's Juke Joint." The couple said they have experienced a great deal of harassment over the years, especially in the beginning of their relationship. Despite those hardships, the two remain committed to each other and their business.
Two of the nicest, most generous people you'd ever meet. Proud to call them friends.

That’s really cool. I’m a mixed race person that comes from a mixed race family I admire Interracial couples. I have a lot of respect for them. Is shows that race is nothing but a color. We are all human God made us all to walk and bleed the same way. Its all about what’s inside the heart, NOT ethnicity or skin color.

My parents married in the early 1970's in England and did not have to sneak about. Both families came to the wedding and never had ANY fights over it and we are all close. America is/was very backward about race.

I met this sweet German girl while in the army I loved her and wanted to marry her about 30 years ago. But deep down I didn't want to bring her to America and break her gentle loving spirit. I think about her often.
Really cool but ALSO very frightening how southern whites treated this couple. To think that the police did this to their establishment.
I heard about Teddy and his juke joint before I met him. The picture they painted of Teddy and the hospitality they were shown caused me to right a song about his juke joint. I was so glad when I had a chance to visit that it was just as they had described. He and Nancy are exactly like you see here...warm and friendly...if you ever met them you'd feel the same way. I will post the song "Teedy's Juke Joint" shortly. Just proves that love has no color barriers !!
