  • We want to be a good or great person, before we can be a Great Airgunner. They go hand in hand. One method to make sure we are on that path, is to make sure we invest in ourselves, wearing the right clothes. Hopefully, our air gun viewers will find these “Are You A Great Airgunner” series, helpful along life’s journey to be a Great Air Gunner. Dr. Russ also provides info on Rainson’s Edge. After Zach Matthews makes his custom changes to this regulated air rifle, it becomes a $1,500 air gun for less than $700.

    Great life advice. I like to say, always be curious. Being curious about everything has served me well. As well as anyone else who is, always curious. I would like to think. After seeing that rifle, I became very curious about it. Back to spending money, yeah. Money well spent on a passion; I believe. Thank you for the wholesome content. The love for what you do flows from it. I hope it keeps you busy, challenged, and brings you as much joy as it brings your subscribers. Keep shooting.

    Dr Russ, I just wanted to personally thank you for all the videos. Ive applied your tips and tricks to my own aigunning and it has greatly improved the way I purchase guns, care for them and ultimately putting my shots exactly where I placed them. This morning I came across this video and as I watched it I kept saying to myself, "what the hell does this have to do with shooting?" Well, I kept watching and it became crystal clear. Out of nowhere this video resonated with me more than I care to admit. Investing in one's self makes one valueable to others. Being a genuinely good person does bring more quality people in ones life. But the main take away I got from this was, when one invests in themselves, you tend to tap into the compassionate side of ones personality, and in turn makes you a more accurate airgunner. Well, maybe to the unlearned person that would sound absurd. But to me it makes perfect sense. A compassionate person would also be a responsible hunter. What I interpreted it as was the "one shot, one kill" addage. Too many times Ive witnessed so called hunters shooting an animal and watching it run around suffering until it falls dead. That in and of itself is wrong on so many levels. In essence, I get what youre trying to say and I have invested in my own life. Do unto others...
    Thank you Dr Russ. Hopefully I can shake your hand one day.

    You keep up wit this great airgunner stuff, but i am far too modest to say something like that about myself.
    every day for me is casual Friday, if it was up to me i would wear shorts a T-shirt and flip flops all year around.
    I got 1 friend and rightfully he would laugh his ass off if i was thrown to jail, CUZ only amateurs are in jail.

    Thanks for posting. You have a lot of hats. I may have a dozen. How do you store them? Does it take up a lot of space? Along the wall? Thanks.

    • @russjones6497
      @russjones6497 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Bill ... you hit the nail on the head ... storing hats ... and then keeping them clean is a task. First, I screwed a long piece of 1x 4 along the ceiling & put hooks into that board... as close as possible so that it would hold as many caps as possible. Fortunately, I used the brass double hooks that you would use for coats and hats.... this allowed for two baseball style caps on each hook as time went on and my collection grew. Another board and hooks were hung near the back door. I painted the boards white each time to match the wall paint. I also put a 1 x 8 board as a shelf about 14 inches lower that allowed for wide brim hats. I was hoping that storing them high would eliminate any dust problem... but in time ... dust settled on them anyway and cleaning them before use became a requirement. However, I placed my wide brim hats in thin see thru bags to keep the dust off of them. You have to love caps and hats to go thru what I went thru ... Dr. Russ

    Dr Russ, that is a beautiful PCP, my question is what do you use to supply that rifle with all that air pressure? I am very new to this sport, I have 2 Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X Gen3i 22 cal. I bought the first one on Amazon and it arrived damaged, it was just that little green piece that holds the magazine in, so I called customer service to start a return and was told that it did not qualify to be returned, I was then told that they would just send me a new one. I asked what I’m I suppose to do with this one and was told to keep it or through it away. I then called Gamo and told them what part was broke on this new gun I just got and they sent me a new part with instructions on how to replace it, the new part arrived and I just popped the old one out and snapped the new one in, now the rifle works just fine and about 4 days later the new gun from Amazon arrived and that my friend is how I ended up with 2 of the same rifles.
    Anyhow I would like to get a PCP rifle but wounded how much it will be to get whatever compressor it might take to air that gun up.
    Thanks for another video.

    Dr Russ, I own a Gamo magnum GEN three, but cannot get good eye relief due to the fact that I can’t get the scope further back can you recommend a scope that would work for me. The gamo scope doesn’t go back enough for good eye relief.

      I have the Gen 2 magnum and use the BSA Contender 3x12x40mm . I realize that out the box consumers can be up and shooting in no time , but Gamo scopes are not good as I always end up changing them out. Hawke scopes are a great choice although if money is an issue you can't go wrong with a UTG , they can take the recoil .

    I need advice. I have a Gamo Swarm Whisper .177 with a nice Hawke scope, about a $400 investment but no matter which pellet I shoot, I have about 10 different ones I can’t get any consistency out of my air gun but I do enjoy shooting it. My question is what pcp rifle would you recommend for a mid range price? I’m wanting to get a pcp rifle because I see people getting great accuracy with them plus I like the fact that I don’t have to cock it which gets hard on the arms after a couple hundred shots.
