I don't think I'd wanna date a carbon copy of myself so... it's entirely possible that Dustin and Dirk have qualities outside of school performance that the girls like. I dunno, Angela could have a thing for blond guys who need nurturing cuz their dads died when they were young... Lillith could have a thing for athletic types and admire Dirk's smarts. Dustin could look up to Angela and find in her the nurture that he doesn't get from Brandy (because she has a toddler and another one on the way and she is broke)! Dirk could like the fact that Lillith is a little quirky and rebellious and see that underneath her bravado she's a sweet girl who is neglected by her parents and he just wants to be there for her. I ship the original relationships! ETA: I also love The Breakfast Club so Angela and Dustin are pretty much Claire and Bender, Lillith and Dirk are Allison and Andrew.

It's not proofen, that it's the same Sims from Sims2. They look different, have different eye colors, face and bodyshapes. Sims4 is another universe, so it is probably Dreamer and Broke in another universe, with a different family history. But not exactly the same Sims.

I have a saved game purely dedicated to sims 2 families because I miss the families in sims 2 so much lol, I even made Kaylnn Langerak. I loved how there was little stories with s2 families and they had existing relationships and memories, I miss memories so much!
I wasn’t a huge fan of Sims 2 (I absolutely hated load screens), but one of the things I miss with Sims 2 and 3 are the stories the preset families had. It made every household so unique and interesting. I remember playing one household in Sims 3 of a redhead lady who just broke up with her boyfriend. She was a loner, hot tempered, hated children, and was a kleptomaniac and a criminal aka the total opposite of the Sims I normally played. Shortly after entering the household, as I was looking around, I saw in her queue that she was fighting someone. When I planned my camera to the person she was fighting, it was her ex who lived next door! After fighting, she went to work, went home, and went to bed. Next thing I know, I get a notification say she was pregnant! To this day, that household remains my favorite. Unfortunately, I feel like the Sims 4 pre-made Sims may have a family bio, but it really doesn’t do anything to the gameplay. Hopefully, if they do make a Sims 5, it brings back the gameplay changing stories and sim personalities.
THIS IS THE REASON WHY I LOVE SO MUCH THE SIMS 2. It has stories attached to it! You spend most of the video talking about sims 2. I really want more of that in the sims. (Also that's the reason why i loved so much StrangerVille)
I've remade the sims 2 sims in a sims 4 save file, setting up the relationships, affairs, enemies etc. Montys and Capps are in clubs that hang out at the same lot and fight with eachother. All Olives dead husbands are in her backyard. Even have Kaylynn legitly working as a maid for Daniel in it. It's on the sims 4 general discussion forum if you wanna try it.
Dude yeah! Like, i thought the stories they introduced in sims 4 couldve had more potential if the gameplay in the premade families actually matched what they were trying to deliver (like how in the caliente/lothario family the household description suggested that don had a thing with katrina and he was flirting with nina and dina too, but you actually go into gameplay and look into their relationships and see that everyones only acquaintances with each other lol) I think it could also help if the premade households in the sims 4 were actually connected with other households storywise, like how in the sims 2 the goth, caliente, dreamer, and lothario households all had connections to each other along with the pleasant, broke, and dreamer households, and that was just in ONE neighborhood!
...but now Dustin and Dirk are in Get Famous and Angela and Lilith are in University...I kinda wish once you download both packs that they had an automatic relationship. That would be awesome.

I only switched the twins boyfriends around whenever I played, I'd start off with Angela being jealous and insecure of her sister getting along well with Dustin, so I'd have her cheating on Dirk and getting caught by Lilth. Resulting to Lilth and Dirk breaking up and eventually Dustin dating Lilth and breaking up with Angela

I’m begging you to do my absolute favorite family from the sims 2, the Nigmos/Specter ( Olive and Ophelia ). Their stories are so intricate, and they tie to Nervous Subject and the Beakers, The Grim Reaper and The Smiths. Also, if you ever do, PLEASE use her backstory from the sims 2 psp game too cause that’s interesting.

i regret starting with the sims 3 instead of 2, the pleasants were my favorite family to play. in my (very brief) game mary-sue left daniel but i didn't realize the parent literally moved out ON THE SPOT when divorce happened, so i sent angela to try and interrupt him but it just turned into this super emo thing of her chasing her dad down the street while he walked off with a suitcase and refused to turn back before he was gone. she cried a lot. it was bad. 100% my favorite sims game memory, because it actually _meant something._

Fun fact: I thought Mary sue sounded a bit familiar, so I googled it. A Mary sue is "a type of female character who is unrealistically free of flaws", so she's also the exact opposite to Daniel in the same way that Angela and lilith are opposites.
Every time I played the Pleasants, I would always make Angela and Lilith make up and have Lilith do well in school. I think I sent her to university, too. Lilith was my favourite Pleasant tbh
In my play throughs, everyone gets what they deserve. Angela and Lilith make up and become friends, Daniel gets exposed as a cheat and kicked out of the house, whilst Mary-Sue goes on to become mayor. Lilith and Dustin buck up there ideas, and Dustin turns his life of crime around to become a cop. Dirk Dream becomes a leading business. The sisters have a wedding, ending the pleasant curse once and for all. Mary Sue becomes the strong women she always was, her political advances not held back by a extramarital husband. Daniel meanwhile, has no choice but to move out - alone.
I've played the Pleasants. Mary Sue and Daniel divorced, though she still cared for him. Lilith moved in with Coral and Herb oldie and helped them till they passed away, she then married Dirk. Lilith patched up her relationship with her mom, and is working on a relationship with Angela. She's ready to let the past go thanks to Dirk. Angela married Dustin but they don't spend much time together because they are so different. I don't know what will happen with them. Great video

I think what would make the biggest difference for the sims 4 (or the sims 5??) would be bringing the story aspect back. I think it was lost with sims 4. I wonder if there’s a way for us to all let EA know how much the storyline affects our gameplay/love for the game? For instance, I rather them take a much longer time with sims 5 then rush it out to get new content like sims 4. I understand rushing packs, but take time with the base game and really establish the storyline, skills, and relationships.
In my sims 2 Daniel married Kaylynn and they had a child they lived in an apartment next to John and Jennifer burb and John and Kaylynn had an affair but it was real love so they moved out together. Mary-Sue and Jennifer then moved in together and Jennifer went off the rails. Angela married Dustin Broke and he was like an actor in my game Lillith married Dirk and they had 1 kid named after Dirks mum Lol
I would love to see one on the Brokes considering how iconic they are as well in the Simming world starting with Bob and Betty :) The Pleasants are one of my all time favorites and I was so crushed to see that they weren't a family in TS4! I've played them a few different ways, where I've gotten Daniel pregnant with Kaylynn's baby, and leaves Mary Sue, I've had it where he's cheating with Nina, I had it where he tried to get with Casandra and Mary Sue caught him. What I currently have going on is he's having an affair with the maid and gets her pregnant, while Don convinces her to blackmail Daniel into giving her money to keep quiet. I also have the Oldies living with them to help with the discord with the twins. Coral is a neutral witch, who's teaching Lilith the way of magic hoping she'll use it for good but obviously she won't... her and Dustin have been sneaking out and I plan to have him get her pregnant (mods ftw) and then her parents kick her out and she goes to live in Dirk and his dad, only for them to kinda find out that i's not Dirk's baby lol. Yeah, I sorta love TS2, no shame ahahaha.

My first playthrough of the Pleasants in Sims 2 both parents died within the first sim-week and I think that is the amount of tragedy that fits this bloodline so well
Tbh the video motivated me to play the Sims 2 again and it reminds me a lot of my childhood. (Started playing the Sims 2 at the age of 10 I think). I loved to flee in this beautiful world because the real life was hard. Playing Sims (and reading books) made my life so much better. Haven’t checked on my Sims 2 game for over 4 years JESUS!
Dirk and Dustin were added into the Get Famous expansion and the twins were introduced in the Discover University pack. I wish they had some type of pre existing relationship though.

These history videos just shows how much the sims team cared more about the previous sims games and not sims 4. They couldn't even keep up with the iconic stories we all love.
I completely forgot how detailed the Sims 2 families and backstories. My games were destroyed in a move and I have only had the sims 3 forever. God I miss how the sims 2 had everything, they really lost a good sense of what the sims is in the new games
DEFINITELY do the Broke family :O Also, one detail you missed. When you start the game in the Sims 2, Lilith and Angela automatically start fighting and I believe like a Sim day later if you don't raise her relationship with her and I believe Mary Sue she will run away from home. I love the chaos of the Pleasants! In the my game right now, Lillith ran away from home and is now living with the Burbs. Daniel ended up getting kicked out by Mary-Sue and now lives in the trailer park with Kaylynn Langerak while Angela is just kind of doing her own thing. Once I get back to them it should be interesting! :D

The pleasents were one of my favourite families to play, in my play through Mary fell pregnant again after they worked on their marriage and I named their third daughter "Aura lee" Yeah...not the best choice after some one pointed out what it sounded like x-x

Once I played this family in the Sims 2 and Angella accidently walked in on her dad with the maid, and it let me make her and Lilith become friends, and Lilith started doing well in school (I like to think that means Angella started helping her) and they both grew up and got married to their respective boyfriends and I moved them all in together...

Their stories are so intricate, and they tie to Nervous Subject and the Beakers, The Grim Reaper and The Smiths.
Also, if you ever do, PLEASE use her backstory from the sims 2 psp game too cause that’s interesting.

i regret starting with the sims 3 instead of 2, the pleasants were my favorite family to play. in my (very brief) game mary-sue left daniel but i didn't realize the parent literally moved out ON THE SPOT when divorce happened, so i sent angela to try and interrupt him but it just turned into this super emo thing of her chasing her dad down the street while he walked off with a suitcase and refused to turn back before he was gone. she cried a lot. it was bad. 100% my favorite sims game memory, because it actually _meant something._

Its so weird how in TS3 Daniel and Mary Sue are young adults, but Mortimer and Bella are children. But in TS2 Daniel and Mary Sue are adults and Mortimer is an elder. Hmmm
Gabriella Galaxy lol that’s because Mortimer and Bella live in Sunset Valley, and Daniel and Mary Sue live in Sunlit Tides. The worlds in S3 don’t always match up perfectly.
Its because the times are different. EA have spoken about that, its spoken about at the start of the video. The sims 3 was earlier years from the sims 2.

Fun fact: I thought Mary sue sounded a bit familiar, so I googled it. A Mary sue is "a type of female character who is unrealistically free of flaws", so she's also the exact opposite to Daniel in the same way that Angela and lilith are opposites.
Every time I played the Pleasants, I would always make Angela and Lilith make up and have Lilith do well in school. I think I sent her to university, too. Lilith was my favourite Pleasant tbh

LILLITH IS THE BEST SIM EVER.
I hated when sims had enemies cause all they did was fight. So I made them all best friends lol.
In my play throughs, everyone gets what they deserve. Angela and Lilith make up and become friends, Daniel gets exposed as a cheat and kicked out of the house, whilst Mary-Sue goes on to become mayor. Lilith and Dustin buck up there ideas, and Dustin turns his life of crime around to become a cop. Dirk Dream becomes a leading business. The sisters have a wedding, ending the pleasant curse once and for all. Mary Sue becomes the strong women she always was, her political advances not held back by a extramarital husband. Daniel meanwhile, has no choice but to move out - alone.
I've played the Pleasants. Mary Sue and Daniel divorced, though she still cared for him. Lilith moved in with Coral and Herb oldie and helped them till they passed away, she then married Dirk. Lilith patched up her relationship with her mom, and is working on a relationship with Angela. She's ready to let the past go thanks to Dirk. Angela married Dustin but they don't spend much time together because they are so different. I don't know what will happen with them. Great video
omg when i was little i used to think kaylynn was so pretty that i just kept letting daniel cheat on mary sue with her... i think i also made her have romantic relationships with don, and all the sims i created.. she really got around skdfjhsdk a queen. honestly probably my favourite npc in the game!

Skip was the dad in my game she always had a boy never a girl I even tried to cheat but nope.

@@Mistysmudge1 kinda right. There is no proof that it is the same Sims from Sims2, since they look slightly different (different eye colors and body shapes). Sims4 is another universe, so it's probably kinda the same Sims but they had a different family history in Sims4

No, it's not exactly them. They have different eye colors, face and bodyshapes. Sims4 is another universe, so it's another versions of these Sims with a different history.

I think what would make the biggest difference for the sims 4 (or the sims 5??) would be bringing the story aspect back. I think it was lost with sims 4. I wonder if there’s a way for us to all let EA know how much the storyline affects our gameplay/love for the game?
For instance, I rather them take a much longer time with sims 5 then rush it out to get new content like sims 4. I understand rushing packs, but take time with the base game and really establish the storyline, skills, and relationships.

In my sims 2 Daniel married Kaylynn and they had a child they lived in an apartment next to John and Jennifer burb and John and Kaylynn had an affair but it was real love so they moved out together. Mary-Sue and Jennifer then moved in together and Jennifer went off the rails.
Angela married Dustin Broke and he was like an actor in my game
Lillith married Dirk and they had 1 kid named after Dirks mum

The Pleasants are one of my all time favorites and I was so crushed to see that they weren't a family in TS4! I've played them a few different ways, where I've gotten Daniel pregnant with Kaylynn's baby, and leaves Mary Sue, I've had it where he's cheating with Nina, I had it where he tried to get with Casandra and Mary Sue caught him.
What I currently have going on is he's having an affair with the maid and gets her pregnant, while Don convinces her to blackmail Daniel into giving her money to keep quiet. I also have the Oldies living with them to help with the discord with the twins. Coral is a neutral witch, who's teaching Lilith the way of magic hoping she'll use it for good but obviously she won't... her and Dustin have been sneaking out and I plan to have him get her pregnant (mods ftw) and then her parents kick her out and she goes to live in Dirk and his dad, only for them to kinda find out that i's not Dirk's baby lol.
Yeah, I sorta love TS2, no shame ahahaha.

The pleasant family was the first family I ever played in the sims! Loved the video
My first playthrough of the Pleasants in Sims 2 both parents died within the first sim-week and I think that is the amount of tragedy that fits this bloodline so well
I remember aging down Lilith and giving her a better childhood, I always felt bad for her looking at her memories and seeing the bad ones :]
Tbh the video motivated me to play the Sims 2 again and it reminds me a lot of my childhood. (Started playing the Sims 2 at the age of 10 I think). I loved to flee in this beautiful world because the real life was hard. Playing Sims (and reading books) made my life so much better.

Dirk and Dustin were added into the Get Famous expansion and the twins were introduced in the Discover University pack. I wish they had some type of pre existing relationship though.

I completely forgot how detailed the Sims 2 families and backstories. My games were destroyed in a move and I have only had the sims 3 forever. God I miss how the sims 2 had everything, they really lost a good sense of what the sims is in the new games

Also, one detail you missed. When you start the game in the Sims 2, Lilith and Angela automatically start fighting and I believe like a Sim day later if you don't raise her relationship with her and I believe Mary Sue she will run away from home. This happens every time. At least in my experience. Amazing vid, though! I love how in-depth you go
I love the chaos of the Pleasants! In the my game right now, Lillith ran away from home and is now living with the Burbs. Daniel ended up getting kicked out by Mary-Sue and now lives in the trailer park with Kaylynn Langerak while Angela is just kind of doing her own thing. Once I get back to them it should be interesting! :D

The pleasents were one of my favourite families to play, in my play through Mary fell pregnant again after they worked on their marriage and I named their third daughter "Aura lee" Yeah...not the best choice after some one pointed out what it sounded like x-x

Once I played this family in the Sims 2 and Angella accidently walked in on her dad with the maid, and it let me make her and Lilith become friends, and Lilith started doing well in school (I like to think that means Angella started helping her) and they both grew up and got married to their respective boyfriends and I moved them all in together...

Dirk Dreamer in TS4 and Dirk Dreamer in TS2 are unrelated. Like Holly Alto in TS3 and Holly Alto in TS4 are 2 different Sims. Idk about Dustin Broke though

I absolutely love these lore drives because it makes me so nostalgic for all the shenanigans I got up to playing Sims 1 and 2 forever ago (and DANG I miss the memory system from Sims 2 SO MUCH). I absolutely love hearing the history I didn't know and being reminded of the history I did. 😁
