People may think I’m overreacting but one of the reasons the sims 4 can never be my favorite is the lack of depth. I miss how deep and interesting the households and worlds were in ts2 & ts3

Rahima Akter yeah, that really bothered me. I installed a mod a little while ago that recognizes distant family (like cousins or great grandparents) and now the game recognizes them as well. Strangetown has so many issues, lol.

Theres also some families in Bridgeport sims 3 who I think have really good stories, I cant remember their names, but the mum and daughter who live together, the mum had a failed career and sort of lives it through the daughter, and goes out and parties with her pretending they are sisters. I want to know more!!

Probably. At the photos we can see that she married him when he was already old. And she was very young. I guess there was quite a big age difference.

The weirdest part is, Chloe and Lola Singles are technically the half sisters of not only Jenny and her brothers, but also Jenny's children! Loved this. :D
I always knew Polly was going to ‘expire’ and I ALWAYS made he had another baby with Jenny, because I wanted another half-alien baby XD
Past Plumbella is the professional while editing Plumbella is the sassy voice clapping back. Its my favourite thing.

Did you ever used to play the DS version of Sims 2??? Johnny Smith and Tank Grunt are both in it and my mind just blew from the connection cause I never realised it
They were also in the PSP, all the Smith and Grunt family (but Buck) and man that game gave much more information, like Tank wanting to do Ballet before being forced into military, and Johnny seems to not be thas So good of a guy, Ripp is really distracted, Jill can set things on fire?? Im not sure they are to be seen as canon, but I love to do so, gives a lot more to both the families

As someone who played the sims 2 but who was too young to remember a lot about it, these videos are super helpful. I recently got back into sims about 2-3 years ago after I got sims 4 on sale. I got sims 2 again when EA was giving out codes and now am trying to get all of the sims 3 packs :,) I’m a new sim-aholic you could say
Jill is also fairly close acquaintances with the youngest son of the Grunt family, Buck.
The game hints that Buck and Jill will mix together much to disapproval of their powerful fathers, General Buzz and Pollination Technician 9.
I always headcanon lola and chloe being born around the same time as lazlo. Making glabe more of an affair than an ex wife. EA did the age line so dirty in the sims 2, like figuring that out gives me headaches 🙃

I didnt play much Sims 2, but I was going to play the Smith family but since Johnny grew up so fast I decided to play with the Specter household instead. I married Ophelia and Johnny and all of their children and pets were named after Hamlet characters. I remember being tortured by the ghosts in the front yard... I had to hire a gardener and a maid to just clean up after them because every time someone stepped outside they would be uncomfortable from PUDDLES EVERYWHERE

I spent a large proportion of this video trying to work out where I remembered tank grunt from.
He was in sims 2 ds. I'd was a frequent guest at the hotel that you run. I love that game so much. There are charater stories in it too

I can't shame Glarn Curious for abandoning the twins since they were the result of him being violated by an alien. Poor man was probably traumatized. Jenny is kind of terrible to marry the alien that abducted and impregnated her father like that! 😖
God, the characterization and lore in this game is SO good! The Sims 4 could never. 😭

I absolutely loved these characters. I moved a family of four siblings into S2 Strangetown and just to complicate that tree even further, 3 out of 4 siblings paired up w a Smith. Jaime, the eldest brother married Lola. (His younger brother Fernando ended up with Kristen Loste, one of the other “Singles” girls), and the twins Morpheus and Wednesday each ended coming out as gay. Morpheus married Johnny and Wednesday married Chloe.
Sims brings back such great times and memories 🥰 I always used smith family to bring Bella in and figure more about her back in sims 2 days
Not gonna lie I nearly shat my pants at 6:43 cuz I was zoned out during the alaBAMA part 😂😂
So back when I was a kid and first got Sims 2, I moved my custom family in with the Smith's and literally as soon as I loaded in Polli Tech #9 started grilling and lit himself on fire and it killed him and I was so upset you have no idea. The only reason I wanted my Sims to live together was because dude was a full blood alien and I thought that was so cool and then he goes and dies like that. So rude.

I love this series, I'd really LOVE a Specter and Beaker family video (mostly because of Nervous Subject connecting them)!
Let me tell you, my claim to fame in the whole Sims franchise is when I played the Sims 2, I aged Tank up to an adult and he met a random named Crystal Vu and they got married, when I tell you that Tank was the best dad and granddad 😭 I played that family for five generations.
I love these back history stories that you do. When I played through the different Sims games I honestly never payed alot of attention to them. I had my made families and only friended them

I kinda disliked johnny after reading one of his secrets in one of the spinoffs, where seemed like a bully who acts all good with his friends and family. But happy to see him as a nice person in ts4, so I dunno, I know it's an "alternative universe", that by far I like more (relationship/personality)

Omg yes please do the grunt family they have so much family drama like Im sure tank actually envies ripp because ripp decided for himself what he wants to do while tank seems to be way too attached to the father (in other the sims spin off tank wanted to do ballet???!!! But couldnt because again, father) and ripp seems to like the idea of following their mother steps but is bullied so for revenge he beriends johnny (BUT IN MY GAMES! ITS ALWAYS RIPP WHO ATTACKS TANK??? NEVER THE OTHER WAY?? WHY??) AND THEN there is Buck who is complitely ignored by the father??? Because he is too "busy" with the other two child to even look at him?? Also Buck is friend with Jill! That's like a romeo and juliet scenario, since most people tend to pair those two together! Im so happy they gave them a happy family relationship in the sims 4 they don't deserve so much after Lyla's death- and the three of them are still children...
AND THEN! Buzz! In other spin offs he actually acts bad because he needs to have a certain reputation and he can't be seen soft! So maybe professional deformation he acts like this with his sons?
Sorry I just- I love the grunt family- when I was little and even recently I always tried to restore the family relationships, at least for the 3 sons, and make them happy. Siiigh sorry Im just fangirling ç-ç Btw Johnny was in other 2 spinoffs, ripp and buzz in one and tank in 3, but buck was ignored (spinoffs from gba games and psp)- Strangetown was maxis favorite town
In my playing Ripp is the first who starts the fight. He’s always provokes Tank, bullies him trying to show himself like he’s “independent”. What? You what to follow father’s footsteps? You’re nothing but a slave! Butt-kisser! Parasite! Daddy’s boy! Nothingness! Here’s a poke to you. Here’s a shove to you. Here’s a slap to you. I can do with you anything I can do. I’m friends with Johnny because he’s better than you.
He always fights with him first trying to show that he’s free guy, but in reality he’s just Johnny’s puppet. Every time Ripp attacks Tank in a front of Johnny defending him, and Johnny watches for it with pleasure. Johnny simply uses Ripp as his pawn, his puppet just to get closer to the Grunts, to know their secrets. Johnny knows that Ripp is the weakest link and the breach in the armour of the Grunts. And Tank doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like that Ripp acts towards Johnny like he’s his lackey and servant who is ready to give all their secrets. He considers his behaviour s as a betrayal. No one dares to go against the Grunts and no one will get away from that.

I just gotta say, I freaking love this series. I never knew the sims had all these story lines, even though I've been playing the sims since they first came out. So please keep making the history of the families, it's awesome!

Ive been playing sims 4 since it came out but i recently went back to sims 3 and just..... my god sims 3 is fun. Its just so damn good! And in depth too, its crazy!
Sims 4 obviously has a lot of better controls and graphics and such but even the create a style in 3 is superior to being stuck with whatever swatch of colour ea has deemed we can have in 4

Since only Sims in the active family age, it was pretty common for children to end up being older than their parents if you didn't play both households simultaneously.

I'm playing the sims 2 in 2022 and I HAD to start with Strangetown. It's such a vibe, such and aesthetic and I really have fun expanding on that. I started playing Veronaville too. Now there is lore and depth and attention to detail that is unmatched IMO. Pleasantview gets all the love for having The Goths and the "main" storyline regarding them and the other families that live there. Strangetown will get a not and I rarely see anything about Veronaville, both of these are such iconic hoods. I am very thankful I can find the resources that fans made of these hoods/The Sims 2 in general because it keeps the spirit, and the love, and the lore alive. Great job, as always, I wish I was watching in 2019 but here I am now ^_^

The Smith family also appears in TS2 psp where Johnny(and ripp and tank)is an adult and Jill is an YA i think. Buzz has got very paranoid and kidnapped the Smith family and his own and has them living in a bunker. The player has to help Johnny escape, ripp is bullied by Tank, and Jill reveals her pigtails hide eyes in the back of her head and she has fire powers. Pt9 had a secret that he had a secret alien family on his homeplanet
