VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 29. 11. 2023
- Running out of Filament, on a Creality K1 MAX, isn't as easy to deal with, as it is on a P1P, P1S and other DD printers. I'll walk you through dealing with this, so you can get it done, and resume your print.

Thank you for this! Very straightforward. Removed my anxiety.
For the life of me I could not figure out how to change it mid print and get to the filament. GREAT instructions! I just did a test print to practice changing the filament and it went perfect. Thanks for much for posting!
Great video. Your instructions are incredibly detailed, step-by-step, and instructive. Success!
Epic. đđŒđđŒ
Just ran out of filament and used your video as a guide for continuing. thank you very much!

Easy to understand, works just like described. Thanks for the video.
Broh⊠this videos was great! Seriously excellent and accurate! I just swapped my filament runout and voila! Iâm not losing an 8 hour print! đ Thank you! đđŒ đ
Epic!! Very welcome. :)
Exactly what I was looking for :)
Thank you for this video!

Thanks man, you really got me out of a jam
Than you Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Aweskme video! Fhanns for helping!
fherry Welkome!! Am I doing this right?
Video much appreciated from a newbee
Cutting a diagonal in the filament was the key for us to get it through the runout sensor on our new K1 max.
Honestly, Straight is fine too. It's all about experience, and learning the feel of it. However, lot's of people swear by the diagonal method. :)
Thanks for this, great video that helped me understand the filament replacement process. Really curious about your lid. It looks aftermarket... Do you mind letting us know where you got it from. Obviously we are all suffering from the standard lid pushing down on the bowden tube ...
It is. I helped them develop it. I need to dig up the link. I'll be back.
However. I use the stock lid, upside down.

Thanks!
You the best. Very welcome! Thank YOU
Now the k1 max comes with a glue stick is it for the whole bed or just were the nozzle clean it's self. Cause I really haven't use it and had no issues with prints issues.
It's for the bed. I would use it where the model prints, rather than the whole bed. But.... I can't remember the last time I used it. However, it protects the bed
@@3DRundown thanks.
where id you get that top cover?
I helped test and adjust it's design. Tell them I sent you: www.pwkandco.com
Sir..... at 3:09 that small "AI Lider" thingi, next to extruder, whats the purpose of it... I am curious...
It's a lidar laser, used by the machine, to inspect your 1st layer and inspect calibration prints
You mentioned loading the filament so it comes out the top of the roll instead of the bottom. Iâve been using the bottom and havenât had any issues. Can you elaborate why you prefer the top method?
OVER is the officially instructed method from Creality. It also makes sense, for the same reason OVER is on the Patent for Toilet paper. It keeps the spool from loosing tension, and unspooling itself.
@@3DRundown thanks boss
Light in my filament sensor not work , can i disable filament sensor in options?
I've never actually noticed a light in my sensor. Your sensor is not working? I'm not a fan of runout sensors..... Should be able to disable it, but, I have never actually tried.
I think some people move the run-out sensor outside so it's easier to sort out.
Indeed. I think that's a wise move. I will probably cover that type of mod at some point, however, from a "traffic" point of view, it makes sense for me to cover the stock setup, at least, prior to covering a mod. This let's me reach the most people with a specific configuration.
Thx ... finally đ đ
I wish they made multi color filiment holder that auto swaps
They are ;)
I once tried to trick it and the kink of the filament from the spool jammed the hotend completely... So I'm not realy annoyed about it
Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes... :P
@@3DRundown yeah... It was a stupid price of trying to fix it... Got a new heatsink and hotend from Creality
Nah. I always encourage breaking stuff, then fixing it. It'll make your better at everything
@@3DRundown that's true. Learning with the mistakes you make
i dont think my sensor is working.. i have had my printer print in air not stopping becuase it ran out....
Any tips for it?
It should light up, and the screen should show a yellow icon when out of filament. Make sure it's connected right and getting power
@@3DRundown thanks you for answering and the video!
It helps us all
Very welcome
Wouldnât it be easier to remove the leftover filament from the extruder tube entry? After you retract you just pull it out and put the tube back into the extruder
I avoid having people touch their HOT end, whenever possible, and I never want people repeatedly removing a Bowden Coupler. The teeth on those, are super tiny and weak. One wrong pull, and they won't hold anymore. Now you've got a problem at your hotend. ALSO, if peeps are a little rough with it, and move the hot end, even the tiniest bit, it may through off the resume, and cause a layershift. I would leave the hotend alone, and avoid removing the hotend Bowden at all costs.
In the video, you did not show how to remove. The Boden tube from the machine is simply appeared, separated from the machine. My print ran out of filament, but there is none sticking out of the Bodden tube.
I show it at 2:10.
Pull the clip.
Depress the blue ring
Pull the tube out
Select Retract on the screen
You didnât even mention if the filament is stuck in the filament sensor, since you are âso intelligentâ.
My man!!!
Love the video & it answered all my questions & some!!!
Why not remove the filament at the hot end?
If that coupler fails, from repeated use, it is not replaceable, and your extruder is toast, as it won't be able to hold the bowden anymore. Anybody who's worked with Bowden setups on bed slingers, will tell you, they do indeed fail.... Plus, since we are going to resume, even the slightest movement of the hotend. by you, can through off it's position for resume....
@@3DRundown good point! What do you do with regular filament changes? I recently did a retract, then pulled it all the way through from the reel. The stingy bit of filament got pulled off at the runout sensor. Since then Iâve been disconnecting from the hot end and trimming the filament before pulling through.
That shouldn't be happening. Retract is the correct way. It will push then pull. Make sure you let it complete the push/pull, and don't unlock it. czcams.com/video/Kb4Vmy5m5Rk/video.htmlsi=Cc0MM4WtPLTz5oQ5
I feel like you should have explained where the filament stopped...
It stopped at the runout sensor....
First min of the videoâŠ.
so now jesus has a black dome on top of his head??
Apperently
Why are you retracting? That filament is useless anyway, just extrude it. no need to mess with the filament detector.
Extrude extrude extrude. Until nothing else comes out. Then you unlock the gears for the extruder, push new filament in. Lock extruder. And extrude until new filament comes out. Then resume printing.
Why on earth would I do that!? There is like 2 feet of filament in there. Remove it and reload. Entire process takes 15-20 seconds.
Is that jesus?!
It's John Carver. Practically the same thing
Great video! Thanks!
Very welcome. :)
