What Is Tarkov’s Most Accurate Weapon?
Vložit

- Today we look at accuracy in Tarkov, and what this means for the most accurate weapon in Tarkov! Accuracy in EFT is all about MOA, or minute of angle which is how the game represents the possible "spread" of rounds when firing at the same point.
We want the smallest MOA that we can, which in turn gives us the tightest spread - especially when sniping over long distances - and different weapons vary in MOA quite significantly. The bolt action weapons are the most obvious choice for high accuracy i.e. low MOA, but some others in the DMR and Assault Rifle categories can also compete fairly well if built correctly.

What's your favourite sniper in Tarkov?
RSASS. I have fond memories of when it was meta. if you mean bolt action, then the T500M because its the t5000m.
DVL Diversant. Good MOA, ergo and integrated silencer. Also good recoil, so its easy to watch bullet drop.
I was never one for sniping in EFT. When I used to play that is. More of a Vepr 136 aficionado, especially after the recoil nerf across the board.
Shturman. Not the most accurate sniper but he definitely has the better fashion sense and knows helmets are gay.
svd
Can you make a video on "what's the coolest gun in tarkov?" because I haven't seen anyone really break down how the overheating system works and it would be good to see. I also enjoy these videos that talk about these really niche weapons.
I thought you meant cool as in that looks cool at first 😅
the coolest gun is the ash 12 but not because of heat
That would take so long to make but would be amazing to see
There is no overheating thing in tarkov, you can shot 60-100bullets in a row and only random and bad condition of weapon influence the chance of weapon jam.
@@TheStulnoga overheating has been in the game since december of last year
Honorable mention: the VSS, which used to be the most accurate gun in the game at 0.34 MOA.
Sad times eh
I think the reasoning behind the USP slide is because it's the one for the USP Elite which is specifically a target shooting gun meant for high accuracy.
Trying to get back into the game. This video helped me decide what weapons to focus on learning. Thank you!
I’m not sure how you became the Veritasium of Tarkov but… please keep making videos. I appreciate all of them
Haha me neither! And I fully intend to :D
This is very important to a player like me, with the new lighthouse expansion, I've found that we'll be able to get sightlines at 1500m at least. Submoa accuracy is literaly required at this point but it seems the main limitation is the in game scope capabilities.
And what is Tarkov's least accurate weapon? The one in my PMC's hands when I'm behind the mouse.
This is very real my friend :(
Great Video! As always just a sheer dump of numbers for analytics to enjoy lol.
I'd recommend, since you started this video speaking about it's importance to sniping in EFT, including the muzzle velocities of the best pick's of each caliber since it matters a lot when shooting out to 300+m (i.e. rogue farming) as well as maybe a tier'd recommendation set on which is perhaps your preferred pick & why. That might help make the video perhaps a bit more practical to players who might just be looking for a recommendation.
Also, I'm from the US, so calling the T-5000 Orisis "bespoke" in its parts sounded quite fancy hahah
Haha funny :D Yeah perhaps for another time, best builds/loadouts for long range shooting. Wanted to keep this one kinda tight to the topic but good suggestion!
i recently found an insane sniping angle on woods that i want to try and i have a feeling this video will prove to be very useful...
I thought 1 MOA IRL is a 1 inch diameter at 100 meters
just about. that doesnt look like a .4 moa spread unfortunately lol
The MOA stat Tarkov lists references the radius of the group, not the diameter. So: double the MOA number to compare to the way you'd use MOA to talk about real firearms. 0.4 "Tarkov MOA" = 0.8 MOA groups.
A series of build guides for accuracy in different weapon categories would be cool!
So what i take from this vid is that for practical (supressed) sniping the best you can get is sv98 which i already prefered, tho i didnt know that its accuracy stood out. Now i feel better about my choices lol
Yep yep!
The issue I have with tarkov is that I'm used to Mils (base 10 accuracy figure), and not MOA (base 12), so converting to metric is an absolute pain
Your explanation of MOA is the best I have seen
Thanks!
For everyones information, the AXMC now beats this with 0.38 not suppressed and 0.39 suppressed without ammunition
Haha always the same, Tarkov works to invalidate videos like this amazingly fast!
Hey Gigabeef, I've had a tarkov question that has plagued me for a long time.
Are helmets, statistically, worth using? I've always wondered how much your kit would have to cost before wearing a helmet saves you more money than it costs you, because obviously you can go many raids without ever being headshot, or without ever being shot in the helmet, and in those cases the helmet was completely useless. But to answer this you'd have to basically calculate the probability of each helmet saving your life, which seems like a nightmare.
It's something I could never hope to figure out but it would be so interesting to have answered.
Hey, i know im not gigabeef, but i'm gonna answer regardless. They are worth it, but only to protect from buckshot from scavs. You know that old russian shitty helmet? I would say thats worth it to bring
@@thijsb2119 The SSH helmet costs 22K. So if you're running a 200K kit, it would have to save you once out of every 9 runs.
Note that it only covers the top of your head and the nape. Ears, jaws, face, eyes, all unprotected.
I simply just don't believe that helmet is gonna save you often enough.
There is one helmet I believe in, and it's the Ulach. If I get a Ulach from an NPC or another player, it's basically the only helmet I'll keep rather than sell, because it has saved me a disproportionate amount of times compared to any other helmet.
It's really quite complex, but for the most part I think the answer is no in general. I agree the ULACH is nice, but the problem is it costs 70-80k and pretty much always gets taken. Early wipe the bleach barter for the Ratnik is decent, late wipe it just doesn't do anything (I haven't had a ricochet from it in a LONG time) but the fact that it comes back in insurance constantly makes it better value than it looks - same for the SSh peen helmet but that one reduces ergo a lot and is usually approx the same price as the 2x bleach.
However you could argue that the helmet not only "saves your kit" but also any loot that you might have picked up in that raid. If you're averaging say 200k in loot per raid, it makes it more compelling to take with you to get that survival rate up. So that makes early wipe more convincing because that's when you need the cash - late wipe if you're just looking for PvP you probably aren't looting so it's just about saving your kit as you say.
The big helmets Altyn/RysT/Tagilla honestly are worth it, but you have to be able to play around the sound issues. I find that very hard, but it's worked wonders on Factory a bunch of times (Tagilla especially)
Yes yes yes I've been waiting for this video you do GOD'S work, sir! 👍
Cheers :)
AMXC is at 0.39 suppressed. As well it should be the most accurate gun in the game. It is a specific built long range precision rifle. And .338 Lapua Magnum is a ballistic coefficient monster. (Reaching nearly 0.9, for reference a standard .308 is in the ballpark of 0.25)
Your content is massively underrated
Cheers!
Mmmmmmmm delicous numbers, thank you again for your detailed insights Mr. Beef :)
Love it!
Longer is better, always

I've always been a fan of the SV-98 when using a bolt action. Why? Well, because it's green and that's my favorite color.
Good energy
@Mr. Khaser Well yes however, I prefer the green of the SV-98 over the DVL.
Oh! I know it might be late since you already put out the video, but I think it would be cool for people to see what accuracy vs inaccuracy looks like, maybe with tracers. Maybe you could tie it in to a video about the highest ballistic coefficient bullets, or the best (accurate) "punch" over distance.
Hmm maybe, ballistic coefficient is definitely one that's not understood well. Another thing is how the faster rounds drop damage more quickly than slow rounds because of how the drop-off is implemented, that's a counter intuitive one also eg 5.25mm buckshot can one tap heads up to 10m, but 7mm can't despite starting with higher damage!
@@Gigabeef I don't think it's counter intuitive, just confusing, because people don't have all the information. The faster bullets are usually lighter, and that's why they lose punch. Just like in real life. If you took two projectiles of the same mass, the faster one would carry more force.
The buckshot is confusing to me though, because 5mm should be lighter 🤔
Ye in this case its literally just down to the equation they are using for the slowdown, and slower rounds slow down less quickly. The slowdown is directly proportional to the drop in damage/pen - kinda interesting
@@Gigabeef iiiinteresting. Hopefully they change it to match weight instead!
Notice an increase in quality these last few videos. Keep it up mate.
Thanks! Been putting more time and energy into the edits specifically
good as allways
I've noticed that the SV-98 shoots extremely accurate even at long distances, Though the drop on it is pretty rough once you get to about 600m. The T5000 shoots pretty damn flat. But I would like to know some spots that are further out that sitting on top of twisted tree at lighthouse and sniping rogues or sniping players on the rocks, Anybody got any spots for that?
You can lay prone on the beach side near the tunnel extract on shoreline and shoot out to the pier / gas station. Not sure the exact distance but that is the only other place I can think of that you can shoot that far. Maybe standing on power station shooting down the road towards emercom but you need a friend to stand there to test it since you can't really shoot anything that is normally in that area.
@@Sightbain. I do a lot of sniping on lighthouse, Either going way in the back of the Mountains and sniping towards twisted tree/sniper rock, or laying prone up on twisted tree rock and shooting over at the Mountains by rogue base. Those are the really long places I've found to scratch that long range sniper itch
I completed the hunt for Shturman and was flexing on the Rogues with .338. Of course I haven't played Lighthouse in a couple months since the woods grind and the raiders had fun target practice with my visord face. I'll get a MK18 rogue wipe before the wipe.
1:50 that’s what she said
Love hearing that my SV98 grind wasnt in vain :D

Oh wow didn't realise the MOA stat on Tarkov was "wrong" so all the guns are basically half as accurate in the game as I previously assumed. That's interesting.
Ya I think that is a simple oversight and could be easily corrected if brought to their attention. Luckily for us the ranges we can shoot at it doesn't really matter even for long range sniping.
GL-40 is the most accurate gun in the game
Welp, there goes my cheap supply of 100/100 SV-98s on the flea next wipe...
Great video very informative. 1:12 I see you may be confused MOA is the diameter not the radius.
It is in Tarkov, as opposed to IRL
For any weapon that has a detachable barrel, it's stock MOA means nothing. Guns have a MOA stat, but so do barrels. The value from a barrel overrides the base value. Haven't tested to see how the bonus accuracy of a barrel is applied, but it seems like it would be completely redundant as either it's a 10% buff to the barrel's MOA, or a buff to the base gun which gets overridden anyway.
Just BSG things.
Interesting. Yeah the accuracy bonus for the SA58 I thought was funny, given you can just change the MOA itself
While I can't find any stats on this, the MP-153 has a 0.01 MOA when using 7mm buckshot and playing as an AI scav. Always head, eyes me at 3.7km away xdd
but how much of an effect does the accuracy parameter actually have in the game? is there any point to worry about it?
He described it at the beginning of the video. The only reason accuracy matters is if you wanted to fire one shot from one end of Lighthouse to the other. At 100m, shooting your stock M4 at someone's head will almost always hit. You don't have to worry about accuracy until you routinely fire at close to 200m, and even then, most of the guns you do that with already have low MOA stats.
Like the other comment said, You really dont have to worry too too much until you start throwing ammo out beyond 200-300 meters. Take a couple weapons of your choice on lighthouse, Go to the top of the mountain across from chalev and the resort (I call it twisted tree) and start trying to kill the rogues. That is an extreme way to see the difference since it's 500m I believe. That's when you can really start to see how even different ammo affects zeroing and the MOA really becomes noticable if you have high MOA. Most bolt actions are fine though. The SV is extremely accurate, And the T5000 shoots extremely flat.
Thank you, oh great Tarkov scientists!
:)
linus tarkov tips
"1.1 MOA is not really impressive" - that's a 5inch group at 400 yards
@BloodyPFX Nope you are incorrect 1 moa would be around 4 inches at 400 yards. The spread of the moa is the maximum size between your shots not a radius around point of aim which is how they did it in Tarkov. So effectively in Tarkov they are half as accurate as listed. You can easily verify this by double checking it on Google so don't just take my word for it.
bibageef
i miss old vss
Moa is measured by taking the two most extreme shots in the group by the centres of the holes if it were within a 1 inch circle it would be sub moa not 1 moa
Are you sure that the wiki math is right? I don't think that MOA refers to radius of bullet deviation, but the diameter. So the MOA would be the total spread of shots. Not half the spread.
It does IRL, not in Tarkov
"You can use 7N40" no I refuse to believe that round exists, it's a myth told by 5.45 rifle makers to sell more 5.45 rifles.
Imma guess long barrel dvr, lets see if i get it
Good job!
@@Gigabeef I said dvr?! *facepalm* nice spelling past me.
Anywhos I didnt know about the bullet effect on moa. Good video.
Wouldnt it make more sense to say "Like real life, tarkov uses MOA".. Very useful video btw
Yes maybe except Tarkov has the whole radius vs diameter thing so it's not 1:1 comparable. And thanks :)
Does durability affect MOA?
Yes definitely, as it directly affects the accuracy stat. It shows in the menu so you can track it
I can't believe you didn't mention the P90 SBR
What's so special about it? 1.3 or something right
@@GigabeefIsn't 1.3 the base accuracy of the long barrel mosin? On an SMG, with no modifications, that shoots 900rpm. Nothing to see here 🤣
Haha OK, for an smg it's pretty remarkable 😂 it's about in line with the 'good' AR's :)
Try it semi auto with SS190. I feel like you will be very surprised how well it performs at range. The only downside is you can't suppress it and it's a P90 so packing mags sucks lol
Minute of angle is measuring the full diameter, not the radius so I'm not sure why BSG is doing this. If you have 1 moa at 100 then the diameter of your group is 1.047 inches. A standard moa for a modern ar-15 with cheap ammo is around 2-3.5 moa but if that meant your group was 7" at 100 that would be absolute trash. That's dipping into early 1800's musket inaccuracy.
There's some "creating MOA'ing" going on for game balance purposes
@@Gigabeef Now I know why everything seems so inaccurate, I thought it was just me sucking.
Hey! I know you're not super into Sniping in this game, but I was wondering if you want me to send you my long range sniper chart. As long as you use the build, the chart I made let's you shoot accurately all the way out to 950m+ using the mil dots on the scopes. The longest kill I've ever got was at 1034m!
I would really appreciate being Able to talk to you about that stuff either on here or on discord if you play much? Been getting into long range sniping as of late. Longest I've been able to actually get kills is around 450-600m and that handsome bonkers drop. What weapons do you recommend and what scopes?
@@yoMXTT What's your discord name? I'll send you the chart and some messages when I get time if you want
I'm interested in said chart. I'm getting more into the long range play
I'd love to see this chart too please
Sure! We just opened up a Science discord channel if you want to put it there, or DM me either works

True
As a chemistry major it hurts me that you didn't use precise rather than accurate :(

Eh it's called accuracy in game - deviation here would be confusing for more people imo
Talks about bolt actions and doesn't include the toz. Shame.
