How Tony Bloom Makes Millions From Football - czcams.com/video/8dPzTvsjGOI/video.html
Great video. Just a quick correction - Matthew Benham is the owner, not the Director of Football. That is Phil Giles (PhD Statistics and worked for MB at Smartodds etc.) and the chairman is Cliff Crown, who is also chairman of FC Midtjylland and CFO at Smartodds - it's a pretty tight ship! Lee Dykes (ex-Bury) is the Technical Director and Jon Varney (who is a lifelong fan) is the CEO. I don't think MB has much input into the day-to-day running of the club but is certainly one of the brains behind the overall strategy.
I watched Toney play against my team in league 1, it was so clear to see that he was far too good for that level.
Others have said similar.
@@CaanBerryProTrader shame he was left out of the England squad!
I watched him play for wigan.....was honestly the worst striker I'd ever seen at the club. I refuse to believe The player we are seeing now if the same person.
@@shaunfarrell8676 some players don't fit in with certain play styles which could be the reason he wasn't good at Wigan
Posh fan. Our chairman works a similar method. we've made a gold mine from strikers over the last ten years. Still make money from the Toney deal even now.
A future visionary of football Brentford will stay in the Epl for the 10 to 15 years with this moneyball method
Am a Leicester city fan and I think we do good business b4 the owner died in helicopter crash his son is more interested in buying horses then players ,, we bought mahrez 4 700k and kante for 500k and sold them 4 over 100million for both and a few others recently fofana we bought cheap as chips and sold him Chelsea this year , nothing relavant really here but we won the league with them players probably the team cost less then 30 million vardy we bought for 1 million aswell
I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for a good few months and to see you make a video about the team I have supported since I was a kid was very intriguing! Great video Caan!
Great video eh Gazz.
Championship logo is wrong FYI. Great video!
Whoops! Good spot, was a different style of video to usual and used a new editor, should have spotted that 🫢
Brentford beat Manchester City away a few hours ago man city 1 Brentford 2
Seeing this video's after they beat man city 😁
It was a fixed match, Haaland was just sleeping on the ground while players were playing like they couldn't control their bowels. Also I'm saying it was fixed because Brentford was sponsored by hollywoodbets...kinda fishy.
Salty Man city fan. Money can't buy you everything
@@Kumorini you need to get a grip if you actually think that
Slightly different model but the profit Leicester have made on players is staggering
Yup!
You couldn't of posted this on a better day😀 Great Video
Haha well I guess it could have been a better day if the result was by a bigger margin :D
Fantastic video as usual with amazing posting timing ! Caan can you please do some more expert/tipster videos,on those that make a living taking affiliate money from the bookmakers and not from their selections . There are to many these with there foot in the door , on the gravy train and taking punters for a ride because they have little knowledge or talent. Thanks.
Noted, thanks for the feedback. Timing impecible with the man city result haha.
David Moyes did very similar at Everton during his time there, he got silly money for players and also bought very good players or got them free. Plus at the same time had a very good team.
Nice video. (Championship logo is wrong though)
The beauty of posting this before the city game aswell haha
Great video. More or less spot on. But one more correction. Matt took Brentford from League One to the Prem, not from the Championship..
Good to know that my team is in safe hands, especially with the financial side (I didn't know about this method, not being a stato). 🙂
Did you just think it was down to luck? I thought this kind of info was common knowledge for brentford fans
Southampton have been seen as a selling club for years too.
Hi. Caan I was wondering if you have a backlog of your daily shortlists front runners to see the strike rate for dobbing
No because the behaviour at the start always influences if it's a goer or not. They're just noteable ones that are more likely to lead, best watched at the start always.
Couldn't have posted it on a betten Day. 1-2
Celtic been doing this for years. Buy low sell high. If interested look how much Larsson was and how much they sold him for.
The only way this can go wrong is if you overestimate your hand(so to speak), sell too many of your best players and left struggling..
Agree, I’ve been a Brentford my whole life, but half my family are in from Glasgow, so Celtic are my 2nd team (been to an old firm game as well💯). Over the last few seasons Brentford and Celtic have been going in and competing for the same players like Toney
A club can be ran however it likes, just as long as the fans aren't forced to pay more and more for watching.
Always the objective of any business unfortunately.
Brentford have kept prices minimal. My season ticket is on the halfway line. Perfect view for only £400 a season.
What a win 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
The championship to the Premier league quote has a champions league badge not a championship badge
Whoops! Good spot, was a different style of video to usual and used a new editor, should have spotted that 🫢
@@CaanBerryProTrader should just hire me for quality control mate 😎 do you have an email address I can get you on btw?
@@CaanBerryProTrader i feel your pain😅caan(having to paste this under 3 replies...brace, more to come)
He’s the owner not the Director of Football!
For clubs wanting to compete at the top end of the PL, the only way to climb into that bracket IS to outfox them in the transfer market. Even if the likes of Aston Villa *my club* were able to match the transfer fees for the most wanted players, they won't go there as they want CL football. Clubs wanting to rise in the rankings must use whatever method they can to find value transfers - you've not only got to find value transfers but you have to find *Better* value than others around you in the league to improve.
Christopher Ayer from Celtic for 15.7 million could be an exception, bog standard centre half bought for an inflated transfer fee, can see him plying his trade in the Championship, time will tell 👍
Agreed. In fact I’d say that with their latest window they have gone away from their principles a bit and bought into the hype on a few players. Ayer is a good example.
Another one imo is Damsgaard. I know he’s a really hyped-up “wonderkid”, but he’s very slight for the PL and the times I’ve seen him he hasn’t shown much at all. He had that great goal Vs England and that’s about it. I reckon their recruitment golden age may be coming to an end (it never lasts forever, just look at Leicester).
A lot of football clubs are a business club nowadays. When they are big clubs they spent a lot of money for people proven themself already.
What is the website called you use to tell the xgoals per player?
Infogol.
@@CaanBerryProTrader hope u bk them
Interesting video on the approach of Brentford. I imagine it would work at every level of football but there would be less available data as the pyramid descends.
Historically, teams have bought player that were called 'bargain buys'.
Liverpool in the 70s and very early 80s as an example.
The guy at Brentford is a more high profile, but essentially like any decision, you are looking for value.
True, having a sample of data is important.
wow watching this whilst they are drawing away to man city in the 90 th minute makes you think
Haha, drawing?

Yeah great owner very rare these days in football ,we blackpool fc after 6 very hard boycott years having worst owners in the world ,thought everything was great when we got oyscums out and Simon saddler in saying he was on terraces at Bloomfield road in the 80 s , a true supporter one of our own but now after a lucky promotion with 5 loanees ,he still hasn't spent much at all on the team and sold our best player for 4 half million josh bowler ,now looks like in our second season were going back down owners like yours ,are priceless all respect to them owners who really do love the club and respect the fans ,it's similar at one of our Lancashire rivals Burnley there owners a proper fan that's why there going straight back up .
So where was the gambling aspect of the post? It was some stats off no real interest about Brentford FC. I wonder how long the good run will last for Brentford. People will become fearless when betting them. And that's not allowed. I foresee a slump in form coming I mean the stats can't be in favor of the bettor.
Salty
Well it's been working for 10 years now and even if we dropped down to the Championship that's still a higher division than all longtime Bees fans have witnessed for the vast majority of years supporting the club.
Also with a club so well run as ours we would be near the top of the championship at a minimum.
The only way the bubbles going to burst is if Matthew Benham ends his relationship with the club.
Can u share winning today
watched this right before they upset man city as a 17 dollar outsider... NICE!
HAHA
Southampton come to mind as well
Love the graphic showing champions League to premier League loool
Whoops! Good spot, was a different style of video to usual and used a new editor, should have spotted that 🫢
Bradford tried this moneyball strategy but the Croatian who did this and we went from a major cup final to the basement because he was a narcissist! We now on our way back we have an amazing team and the owner lets the boss MARK Hughes do the football side ! Expect Bradford to be a championship team in next 3 years! Very dangerous game if you not an intelligent Economic visionary!.
Director of football? Benham? He’s the owner
Used the champs league logo instead of Championship Caan lad
Whoops! Good spot, was a different style of video to usual and used a new editor, should have spotted that 🫢
Intuition is not part of the recruitment system. They have an algorithm backed up with old fashioned scouting, common sense and a ‘no wankers’ policy…..
I wonder what Toney is worth. He was bought for comparative peanuts.
They paid £5m and Transfermarkt currently have him valued at £45m, though I'd expect him to reach £60m+ if he was sold
@@mrwabbit9576 £45m for a non-International player? And people wonder why football is eating itself.....?
why did he buy Konsa ?
There is unfortunately quite a bit incorrect in this video.
You put the Champions League logo up - not the Championship, so it looks like Brentford are getting worse!!!
Celtic being doing this well for years buy low sell high
Nothing like Celtic as Celtic already a big club with large fan base and stadium to match there size
Champions League to Prem 😂😂😂 good bye
And just as I see this video Brentford go 1 up v City aha
Doesn’t that just tell other teams to not buy any player Brentford are selling? Lol
Toney will probably go for around 70 mil next summer.
It's not so much about how much the player is sold for but more about how much Brentford paid for them. I think Toney cost 6-7 mil and someone like Newcastle or one of the other big boys will want him and will be happy to pay the asking price.
Have you seen the news about Ivan Toney today? Just been charged with 232 counts of breaching betting rules.
Gutter football. And these players will cll themselves footballers. Al they teach them in training is 'kick it long'. Shameful football #GutterClub #ChampionshipClub
At the start champions league lol
Brentford are just the latest version of Wimbledon, Wigan, Blackburn etc. They don't have enough fans to become a regular premier league club.
If that's your takeaway from this you haven't been listening.
It's not fans that determine a clubs success. It's the staff up top and the ownership, with Brentford having some of the best in world football.
They're nothing like any of the clubs you mentioned as none of them operated using data the way Brentford do, and none had the track record of success Brentford do. Or the same level of infrastructure.
Their owner Matthew Benham said he wants to stay until he dies and has already set the club up to continue the same way if he were to die. It's his statistics firm that guarantee long term success.
They'll be in the top flight for decades to come. Far more sustainable and forward thinking than a lot of the premier League.
Your wrong with Blackburn clown 🤡 ,and I'm not a fan of there's one of my teams Lancashire foes ,but them in the prem with there 32,500 stadium full which it would be says your well wrong , obviously Wigan pub side no fans and dons limited support .
You either didn't listen to how the model is run or you don't understand it.
We are the best run club in England hence the reason we are where we are.
The stadium is 50% larger than Griffin Park and every match is sold out…we certainly are not Wimbledon, Wigan or Blackburn, the club is in the Premiership and run as a viable and sustainable business…….and play attractive attacking football, hence for example, Brentford 4 Man U 0 and Man City 1 Brentford 2………..
Nothing like the old dons your not getting there method or the video
