+Spencer FC i dont think they already have. Payet has been an amazing signing and Slaven has been spot on as manager. So who knows. Maybe not at this extent. But they definitely are doing things right.

Brentford almost secured a direct promotion to the Premier League with one of the lowest budgets in the Championship (stupid hiccups in the last two games cost them dearly), and FC Midtjylland won the Danish Superliga with a huge margin (I'm definitely not a fan of FCM, but they're doing a lot of things right).
For sure. I almost feel sorry for Brentford, played great all year, won 7 straight games from the restart but then bottled it against Stoke and Barnsley. They literally only needed to win one of those games and they were up. Instead they lost 4 of their last 5. I hope they can make it up next season but it’ll be real tough without their front 3.
Are they playing CL next season? Hopefully they will.

I went to see my local club, Bangor City in the Welsh Premier League played FC Midjtylland in the UEFA Cup - got thrashed. We had to play at Wrexham's ground because our old groubd was too small to host European games - but I remember it was astonishing to see how many Midjtylland fans came over to Wales... Amazing!

And now FCM have won additional 2 championships in 4 seasons and a cup. Also they played well against some of the big team's in CL group stage... And Brentford well PL do I need to say more 👌😂😂 on other hand also look at the player's these teams are buying for bucket and selling for real money!...
Billy Beane has been doing this in Baseball since '97. I love this approach for teams that cannot afford to throw money at their problems. I hope this approach becomes more wide spread and levels the field. It will make for some exciting play.
Finally someone gives baseball its due respect and credit on this video. I believe that it's pretty cool that football teams are using this method, but I'm frankly annoyed that they are brushing by the fact that the method debuted in baseball!

I'm a Chesterfield fan but I've got a lot of respect for Brentford and I hope this method leads them to the Premier League.

Seems like an awesome model to put in place, if you guys want a good film/book to follow, look at "Moneyball". Its based on baseball where a team with low finances win over 20 games of baseball in a row to reach the playoffs despite having one of the smallest budgets. Feel like looking into this more, really interesting.

this exact model was designed and used I'm major league baseball, on a team called the Oakland A's. they even made a movie about it. It was even used by the Boston red Sox and when they used it, they won they won the whole series. it clearly works and I hope that lower teams in even football league use it to an extent so it can level the playing field.

I reckon this system will thrive in semi pro leagues because it is a lot harder to judge the players, what to expect from teams etc. I might see if I can get this system in at my local club

Only problem is that they're is not an abundance of data available about games at that level.
Alex Rochester yeah that is an issue, but you can still get data for your team so you can identify weaknesses, and also low league sides are experts at improvising so they might find a way
+Ginga I think the transfer tactic looks to be quite effective even for big clubs and I hope to see it used in the near future, maybe with Brentford being promoted. however, big clubs like Chelsea and United won't pick this up as they have money to burn!!
