- A True STEREO Version Of This Classic Hit Has Never Been Released. Through The Years, There Have Been Some Attempts Made To Create An "Electronically Re-Channeled" Version....But The Results, In My Opinion, Have Been Very Poor. After Several Weeks Of Tweaking And Enhancing, Here Is My Simulated Stereo Version Of J.J. Jackson's Hit Single "But It's Alright". I Tried To Maintain The Driving, High Intensity Sound Of This Tune While At The Same Time, Creating A "Wider Sound Stage" Simulating Stereo. Let Me Know What You Think. Hear it on internet radio kvkvi.com
- Hudba
Imagine being in the studio during the recording of this....bet everyone wore a beaming smile
According to Wikipedia, this was the first true soul record recorded in the UK.
Heard this on CKLW Big 8... from Elsnore California at Night...is CKLW Big 8..made it All the way to my Radio in the 70s and the 80s. So Cool 😎... Radio Lives Forever!!!
CKLW was king of the airwaves. I worked on tobacco farms in SW Ontario every summer from 1968 - 1980. Great time for AM radio.
@Sputnick Spooner I lived right in Cleveland and could only pick it up late Sunday nights in good weather...if then!
A great tune, should have gone higher in charts.
Grew up with CKLW Detroit...Fantastic station!
I used to hear this song allot at Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha, NE., when I was a kid growing up. The players would warm up in the batting cages to this song. Good memories.
My time the 60's live on forever! a classic indeed.
Sounds great! Great oldie to bring back the good times.
I loved CKLW! Listened to it while attending Jr and Sr High in Michigan. This is a great song and performance.
@@sheencat Moron isn't necessary and yes, CKLW was Windsor while Keener was suburban Detroit and on air until 1972. Dan Henderson, the afternoon drive jock at that time, is a friend of mine. Lots of wonderful radio stations from the classic era of radio are no longer.
Riley 50.000 watts of solid gold!
This song was very popular in R&B circles. A good tune to dance to.
Hey Mike. I just want you to know that I really appreciate all of the songs you post on CZcams. I come here often to listen to them. Thanks Brother.
Thanks Much for the thumbs up. Stay tuned!
When I was a kid, this song was very popular, hard to believe it scored so low on the charts.
Stereo simulation is great. The song is definitely enhanced by the Bill Drake CKLW intro. This is an outstanding "top of the hour hit."
I never knew this song was released twice. I just listened to the 1969 version and did notice it's more enhanced than the 1966 version. Great job on improving the 1966 version Mike. It sounds great.
Still listening to this in 2020. Full of rhythm and soul. Yes. It's ALRIGHT!
This simulated stereo sound is better than "Alright"
Keep on grooving 😀
When that song started up at our dances the bleachers emptied and the gym floor was packed! Havent heard it in over 30 years but I love it even more! Thanks Mike. 💖
Still listening to this song thanks for sharing this
He did this song on A Dick Clark Show called "Where The Action Is" which was like an Outdoor Version of American Bandstand. It was the Second Show he did after The Saturday Night Live Beechnut Show.
I remember this! It's been years..
When I hear it I want to get up and dance.
MUSIC MIKE! You are "the man!" I love everything that you do! You are a music ICON yourself!
As usual, Mike delivers quality. Thanks again Mike.
Very welcome
OK, It's 9 yrs later but your Flash Back favorites rule! Always a pleasure

In 1966, I heard this song on WMCA New York-the "Home of The Good Guys."
Always great! Thanks Mike!!
good music Mike!! keep the hits coming!!
thanks for posting. 60's Soul nothing like it. grew up with this music in North Carolina. Again thanks
When much of the popular music lifted us off of our bottom point of contact and motivated us to dance! At very least, got a foot tapping or your head shaking. Thanks MM.
Music Mike thank you for posting such great music. I love the introduction to each song. Once again thanks!
One of my favorites... a infectious driving beat and they pulled it off without a cowbell.
I'm surprised this song didn't chart higher, considering that it seemed to get a lot airplay on oldies stations (at least around here.)
It was top 10 in Detroit/Windsor, thanks to CKLW's constant airplay, but it only made #22 nationally on Billboard. It still is an oldies favorite today in spite of that moderate charting.
@@robertorick6383 That may explain it, as I live in Michigan.
@@hotwax9376 You're spot on. This song was huge in Detroit & Windsor.
I was just nine yrs old when this song came out and I loved it..Great songs live forever.
Played a cover of this song in the 60's at frat houses all over crowd loved it!!
We had KHJ 93 with that same intro here in Los Angeles, CA back in the day!
"You got to got to reap what you sow girl!" A+ lyric
Loved this song
I was surprised to find out that J.J. Jackson, recorded this song in the UK. It seems he had a modest career in the UK. Music Mike keep it up. you make CZcams worth listening.
Love oldies

I absolutely love this song. What type of turntable is that. I know it's top of the line. Do they still sell it. Records were and always be the greatest way to listen to music. Thanks for the upload.

Mike, I like what you did with this song you made it sound crisp and clear. thanks for posting this great song.
Great job sir. Thanks!
WHAT A GREAT VOICE AND MUSICAN MAKES YOUR BODY ROCK
Stereo? What was stereo? All we had in the sixties was a single speaker table radio, and we could only get the city stations at night! And it was great!
....Hey man....I had a Grundig Hi Fi......
...A 3/4 length leather jacket...
...and a 1967 Pontiac catalina...
...and a ugly girlfriend.......LoL.........
I like to open two tabs of this at once, reminds me of the reverb radios that would simulate stereo. We'd have the windows down in my 1967 Fury and the music would bounce off all the buildings while we were cruising...good times.
issued three times here in the UK, love this stereo version...thanks mike
GREAT song, the stereo simulation is fantastic. The song never sounded better.
Oh I remember this one. I was just a kid but still. I remember it.
I really loved this song when I was a youngster.
Great tune, love JJ

Is that a glockenspiel?
I love that color changing light Mike!
You hit a home run with one with this one! Wait, make that a grand slam!! Nice and tight production!
Thank you!
I agree. More Xylophone!!!!!!! Odd audio levels .... but still a great song! Thanks for the effort Michael
Good job mike!!!!!
MusicMike, Keep 'em coming .... You have some of the best stereo (either real or simulated) tunes GOING on the internet !!
We heard this in Louisville on Top 40s WKLO and WAKY, and R&B WLOU, which was a daytimer (6am-ET sunset). When WLOU signed off, WAKY switched to about 1/3 R&B music to capture the listeners from 'LOU between radio sunset and the time WLAC, Nashville switched to R&B at 9 PM ET. Pretty smart...WAKY usually pulled a 40+ share 6p-12m!
+King Bee - Good stats King Bee.......
Thank you MusicMike
You Are Welcome.
listened to this song in an English class, summer of 66, at hollywood HS
I remember hearing this all the time since when I was small in the 2k days (mid) . The Station was KKFG "KOOL" 104.5 FM in Farmington. When the oldies use to be big in the days rather than the 80s .
Ohhhh, yeah! Nice! Thanks Mike!
Good job mike!
I believe he was one of the first VJ’s on MTV in 81’!
I was just wondering if this was the same JJ Jackson from MTV!
..this rocks...
HE WAS GOOD REAL GOOD ! LOVED HIS SOUND !
I need more cowbell
jj Jackson But Its Alright. And Jimmy Soul If You wanna Be Happy. My Two 1960s Favorites.
Used to listen to this over my Grandparents place back then.
Where are you at mike I'm in vages nv
CKLW was a Great Border Blaster in the North....this would be received in Elsnore California at Night...I would get Border Blasters... from Canada and Mexico!!!
,,,Music Mike,,,great tune !!!!,,,question, how many actual plays on the vinyl 45 RPM record can be had before the grooves are all gone ???,,thanks :) P.S. don"t ever loose' your" groove' man!!!, ")
THAT....is the magic question. I believe there are several factors to consider that will determine the answer. 1) quality of your stylus 2) weight of your stylus 3) quality of the vinyl you are playing 4) how patient you are :)
Nice
Mike, thank you so much for all the great postings! were you a radio DJ in your "past life"? I would have loved to have heard you on THE BIG 8!!
Ross Ewage Yes....A radio DJ for many years. A gig on the "Big 8" would have been a dream come true :)
MusicMike's "Flashback Favorites" I'm a former radio DJ too. I did a few years at WDOM 91.3FM and at WALE 990AM although that latter was talk radio.
I go back a ways. I can remember when 990 was WLKW-AM. the 50,000 watt daytimer you couldn't hear in most areas of Rhode Island but it came in great in England! back then WALE was on l400 in Fall River.
+Ross Ewage Yes indeed. My days at WALE was when the studio was down on Westminster Street in downtown Providence.
And here I am preparing to help out with Providence's first low power FM station, WPVD in both a technical and on-air personality. It'll be fun.
Cklw. Lived on Auburn Rd. With the piangas? Angela? You here?
Nice enhancement! Speaking of Calla records, an enhanced version of The Sandpebles' "Love Power", with more of the distortion filtered out, would be a great accomplishment. For some reason, maybe microphone overload, the background vocals on that record are horribly distorted, though in all other respects, it's far superior to any cover version. The distortion can probably be filtered out, though it would take a sophisticated algorithm to remove it without compromising the other sounds on the record.
Still have the album,, bought in 1967
I say but it's alright!! Oh yeah. Has all of that great am radio sound all over it.🎼📻📻📻
Yesh
This song was later covered By Huey Lewis & The News!!!
Yes, and he did a very good job with it.
This is the guy Huey was most influenced by. Tower of Power horns also helped formed the direction in the lane he wanted to go frequently appearing on his releases.
Released twice J.J.they did u unJustified I recall Its Alright and my Brother U were Al Damn RIGHT I tell it like I heard u sang it.
This song was never recorded in true stereo on either Calla or Warner Brothers. J.J. Jackson owned the master himself, so he was able to get it issued on two different labels. Calla was owned by Roulette Records, and the notorious Morris Levy, so I wondered how J.J. Jackson handled his ornery Mafia behavior. He probably thought it was time to skedaddle from Roulette, and go over to Warner Brothers for his own safety. Tommy James mentioned in his 2017 book about a lot of BS dealings with Morris Levy & his goons/hit men over at Roulette, so J.J. probably wanted no part of it. Great introduction by CKLW's Bill Drake announcement jingle with The Johnny Mann Singers. A childhood memory growing up in the metro Detroit area with CKLW. This is a nice re-production of a simulated stereo version a song originally issued in mono, and a better job than Warner Brother's echo-fied version in fake stereo from 1969.
The Calla Records catalog was purchased by Warner Brothers. I would have liked to have been in the room when that negotiation was going on with Morris Levy!!
WRAP- Norfolk, Virginia-the late great "Daddy" Jack Holmes....
45's are sooo hip
