- Ok guys who gave me this request. This song posed a problem from the beginning. I needed a stereo version but the stereo version had the main vocal on the right channel. That's a no no. Vocal needs to be front and center. So what I did was combine the stereo version and the mono together.
I took the stereo version (eliminated the right channel) and put it on top of the mono. That way I had a front and center vocal. There was an "offset" on the speed of the 2 version so I cut the stereo version in 26 sections, adjusted them till they were in sync. The stereo version has good percussion on the left channel. I tracked on Epiphone 6 electric on the left channel and more prominent snare
and middle keyboard parts. There are some wild tricks with low piano notes on certain parts as well and a little vocal parts added.Hope the oldies fans enjoy it! - Hudba
My #1 "Desert Island" tune ....ever since I first heard it in the tiny little Marana (Tucson) Arizona cotton fields in 1966....and I'm 68 in 2023 as I write this. Wish there was more about JJ Jackson, but know he is NOT the famous JJ Jackson that was the DJ in NYC that was so popular years ago. jbeinarizona

You did a great job considering what you used as a source. The song was never recorded in stereo. The version you pulled was someone's creation using the mono/re-channeled and a karaoke version. That's why the vocals were only in one channel. But still your version sounds great.

This sounds great; that's a very interesting process. Do you do that stereo/mono remixing a lot?
No I don't! just with technical problem of a recording with limited structure
that I need to get that sound I hear in my head. I hear the original then I hear something different in my head and so I go about with the multitrack software to find a way to make the sound I hear in my head. Out of 350 enhanced versions I think I've used this method maybe 5 times. It's a headache believe me! Kenn

I never knew of a binaural mix of this tune. The version I heard was rechanneled stereo with reverse on one channel.
