  • Dancin' Shoes Became A Hit Song By Nigel Olsson (Elton John's Drummer) In The Late 70's. The Original Version Was Recorded By The Faith Band From Indianapolis, Indiana And Written By Lead Singer Carl Storie. Both Records Were Released To Radio Stations At Exactly The Same Time On The Same Day! The Competition Went On For Many Weeks With Nigel Olsson Coming Out On Top In Early 1979 At #18 And The Faith Band At #54. Here Is The Original LP Version From The 1978 Album "Rockin' Romance"

I was a junior in high school in 1978. Juniors were responsible for putting on the prom and after prom for the juniors and seniors. We took our fund raising VERY serious so we could put on an epic event. We were able to hire the Faith Band for the after prom dance. In the spring of 1978 that album had just come out or was about to, but Dancin' Shoes was unknown. We were some of the first people to hear that song that night at our dance. 43 years later it still gives me cold chills. Carl Storie's voice....man...

Glad to have stumbled onto this. I've still got the albums and reel to reels but no machines to play them on anymore. As I remember; Boys next door, Chosen Few, Limousine, Faith they went thru changes as we all do/did. At Ball State '71-'75 these guys were almost weekly regulars and I got to meet them numerous times but they'd probably not remember me. Another band named Peddler whose keyboardist was my roommate off campus, they were all friends/musicians, never really "made it" either but lots of talent. So many talented people that ended up in the same old "game" most do. Children need fed, homes, stability in addition to love and many sacrificed careers for family including myself, but I'd do it again. Luckily I was one of the first to get into midi, and being a music major wanting to learn how to write for full orchestra, by 1985 I had my orchestra at my fingertips, tho digitized.
As it turns out it was what kept my alive, my "partner", after my young child was asleep in bed and I was a single parent.
Just because it does not turn into a career, and you are not willing to submit to the "industry", does not give reason to stop creating/playing even when that audience is you. At least that audience knows the blood sweat and tears that it conveys. And that audience is who you look at in the mirror everyday.
Have lost contact with all those old friends, in a way, but not in "other" ways that will last forever.
I was actually looking for their song Freedom..raise your voice and sing, when this popped up too.
Retired now, all I do is work to stop the same damn thieves my friends were attempting to battle in/with their music, but didn't have as much truth then about our "masters" as we do now and how they've stolen an entire world for themselves causing much suffering pain and death.
The Rothschilds were not really a trending subject in the '70s, nor MKultra or secret societies.
I'd forgotten someone had used Carl's work and made it more known in the later '70's, surely Carl got his "royalties"..........even that word/term really sucks, now.
I've given my stuff(music) away and could care less about copyright. One band in sweden did ask me if they could use it and I said sure that's what its for....they won some talent show or something but I never heard their rendition, that was when dial up service took a half hour to download a 4min piece/song.
Many changes but not the one that needs changed, who rules this earth by owning the money supply.
This is crunch time and just about past the point of no return. Unfortunately a real revolution is not trending and we grandparents are the only ones left who can still remember what sovereignty was from our grandparents and greatgrandparents who actually shot their guns at the "revenuers" when they stepped foot on their property. Grandma could shoot as good as any man until her last few months of life, and did to keep the snakes from her bird feeders.
Granted, a strange comment this is but instead of getting drunk in some bar and rambling with other old farts I choose this to encourage not only musicians but truth seekers to pick up their own ass and do what we didn't do, keep shooting at the revenuers/banksters.
Grandma said "you really didn't have to hit em, they'd run once you made them start dancin".
Time we got em to start dancin?............thanks Carl, again.

Almost like the group "Wild Cherry" which is often referred to as being from Pittsburgh or even Cleveland (since that's where they recorded Play That Funky Music).....but actually, they were formed by Bob Parissi from Mingo Junction Ohio which is near Steubenville, Ohio.
