The Youngbloods, "Get Together" off their debut, self-titled album. Listen to The Youngbloods: LegacyRecordings.lnk.to/ty_ty!gt #TheYoungbloods #FolkRock #GetTogether
i saw this performed live around 1968 in the bay area , california . the youngbloods were on stage and someone came up and whispered something in Jessie's ear . He broke out into a huge smile and began to sing . near the end of the song he began to cry . he had just found out that his wife has given birth to their first child . it was the most emotional performance of this song i have ever heard.
Yes, very lucky . the concert was outdoors in a fenced area . it became a free concert because there was a hole in the fence where many people snuck in . the security didn't care . it was very relaxed and loose in those days . The Doors and some other groups were there also . it was fantastic . i'll never forget it.
One of the best songs ever. Love the 60's songs and this is one of the best. The words hit everyone in one way or another. At 70 this is one of the songs I never ever get tired of hearing. Blessings to everyone 😊
When I looked this song up because of a recommendation I wasn’t sure what it was. I recognized it right away. Love a lot of the 60s music. I am 54 and I am very familiar with this song.
I want this beautiful song played at my funeral. It expresses everything I believe. "Some may come and some may go, people surely pass...we are but a moment's sunlight fading in the grass. When the One that left us here returns for us a last. I was 18 when this song was popular, now I'm 70, but I'm still the same person inside.
Actually, tune was released in summer of 67, and played on the air on underground stations like The Marconi Experiment in Phila., Pa. Then it was rereleased in late Summer of 69 , right after WoodStock mid-8/1969 , and became a big hit on the AM stations like Philadelphia's Famous 56 WFIL! In fact, in early 10/1969 it was played on Dick Clarks American BandStand , which I watched religiously for nearly 16yrs. , . Show came on @1PM on channel 6 ABC network. I 1st heard on WFIL @ late 8/1969 @ 12yrs.old , or young. Jesse Collin young was a great musician , and underated; should of been @ Monterey POP Festival , along with The 13th Floor Elevators, Standels, Human Expression, Cream, , and Chocolate WatchBand, and the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Turtles, Troggs, Music Machine, The Seeds , and Count 5. Just my opinion.
Amen! I graduated high school in 1969. We had some awesome music to play in some awesome cars, wearing bell bottom pants and rib tickler tops. Us girls had it going on. 😊

Welcome Home Dennis! Thank you for your Bravery, Courage and Service. Thank you for living and being the message of this timeless masterpiece. God Bless you always!
Being as objective as I possibly can, we had the best music of any generation, which would be the baby boomers, ie late 50’s through the 70’s. Just think of all the great groups that came through while we were in junior high through college plus a couple years after. This was definitely one of them. We have been truly blessed with the music we grew up with. Thank you God.
You got that straight, spot on the mark. This song still sounds as good today then 70 years ago. All baby boomers grew up in this countrys much better days we truly had it all something our youth of today couldn't begin to grasp or understand 4:41 d😊😊😊
i could only imagine being alive in the 60’s to 80’s. Musicians with actual talent displaying their beautiful works of art. Thank you The Youngbloods, this song is timeless and will never be forgotten.
It's not just your imagination. Those were great times for music. And music was much more appreciated in those days, that's why people had hi-fis and expensive stereos. Because there wasn't any internet, video games, or social media, people turned to music for entertainment, and it was a bigger part of our lives.
I'm 72. The world has gotten worse not better. Why? We tried. I guess nobody was really listening afterall. How sad. Peace is in your heart. Just one last cry out. Please listen before it's too late. Love your brother. Don't hate him. We are all the same. Love your brother...Please.
Lamentablemente el ser humano es malo en sociedad. Lo dice la historia. Yo perdí la esperanza. El mensaje de la canción tiene 2000 años y mira. Todo sigue peor.
The Youngbloods sang a song Get together. The song is about getting together what's your brothers and your sisters and try to love one another right now. This song is timeless & perfect for the video of the cat and the rooster❤

Well, it's April 8, 2024...The year of the Solar Eclipse. Everybody looked so "together" watching this. I'm 75 years old, and a Vietnam Vet. Who here remembers this song, and loves it as much as I do? It is SO appropriate, I think.
Omg ...I remember being in the back seat of my older brothers car, it was a purple roadrunner, and the window's were down and it was a beautiful sunny day. He had to leave for Vietnam the next day. This brings back so many feelings and memories of that time in my life. Beautiful song and so heart felt 💓 I used to go into my brother's closet when he was in Vietnam and smell his clothes because I missed him so much. I remember my mother crying when the news came on every night. He is gone now. This song " remembers when ".
The LAST sentence of your comment made me REMEMBER something. I understand WHY you like "Get Together" by The Youngbloods so much; SO DO I!! Released in 1967, fell off the charts after a few weeks; released again in 1969 around Woodstock Festival, this time the world was ready for this sensational song.
I remember both releases, was a one of a kind song. You just don't forget a song with such memorable sound and lyrics. The second release got it's true justice.
I graduated from high school in 1969 and went to work that summer on a construction job building apartments. I spent the entire day, day after day listening to the local AM rock station WCOL in Columbus, Ohio. This was one of the songs I heard so often that I got tired of hearing it. Two others were _Spinning Wheel_ by Blood Sweat and Tears and _Honky Tonk Woman_ by The Stones.
To all out there thank you for your warm wishes and please don't feel sorry for your Vietnam vets we served with pride and took care of each other. We made things better for other veterans that served after us as we promised that they will never be treated like we were GUESS WHAT WE KEPT OUR PROMISE. 🙏
My brother was a nam vet I’m a vet of the Cold War I am so very sorry for the way you were treated the people who didn’t go have no clue what you endured . Keep your heads high !
War is Hell. Born in 1967,I am old enough to remember Nixon and the war"ending", but mostly staring at the pictures on the mantles of Aunts and Uncles , of their sons, teens in their dress uniforms, formal photographs, flag backdrops, the stoic faces, of the older cousins I never got to meet. I am saddened by all those losses even today. Let the next words never become cliche toward any vet... "Thank you for your service"
This is truly a timeless classic. I grew up in the sixties. Tumultuous times. May you be forever young in your heart. I come back here to listen one more time. This makes me reflect on old friends. Some are here, and others gone forever.
I have always been fascinated by the sixties. It would be very interesting talking to someone who was around in america by that time. Im born. in 1979 in sweden myself. The music from the sixties is the best music in my opinion and the whole era really fascinates me.

I saw The Youngbloods at a small hall in Boston in 1969. When they sang this song, it was magical! So beautiful, still gives me the chills. I’ll play it for my young grandchildren today. 🎶☮️🕊🙏🏻
Get Together Love is but a song we sing And fear's the way we die You can make the mountains ring Or make the angels cry Though the bird is on the wing And you may not know why C'mon people now Smile on your brother Ev'rybody get together Try to love one another right now Some will come and some will go And we shall surely pass When the one that left us here Returns for us at last We are but a moment's sunlight Fading in the grass C'mon people now Smile on your brother Ev'rybody get together Try to love one another right now If you hear the song I sing You will understand (listen) You hold the key to love and fear In your trembling hand Just one key unlocks them both It's there at your command C'mon people now Smile on your brother Ev'rybody get together Try to love one another right now
I'm 58 seeing people who are dear to me going to heaven 1 by 1 and it's getting challenging down here without them. This song is a reminder to be strong like they were and keep a pure heart open to love.
I was an 18 year old girl in high school and all the boys we hung around with got drafted. They were all excited about going to Vietnam and "kick ass". Only 2 came back ; one hooked on heroin, the other committed suicide. The rest we couldn't even bury as there were no remains. I remember seeing them off, one by one, as they left. Haunts me to this day and this song brings me peace when I hear it. God bless all Vietnam Vets.
The harmony, the picking, the message make this one of the best records ever. I'm 84 years old and had the pleasure of playing this on the radio both as a hit and as an oldie.
I LOVE THIS CLASSIC 60'S SOUND. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE SOUND THAT I CANNOT DESCRIBE BUT YOU KNOW IT'S THE 60'S WHEN YOU HEAR THOSE INSTRUMENTS AND THAT VOICE.
Play this on my guitar 🎸 & sing it. Volunteer here in Tucson helping Vietnam Veterans get their disability Compensation. Did you know there are 5 different types of "Agent-Orange?" Welcome home my brave & honorable Vets.
When this song was released, I was 20, living in the Haight Ashbury and trying every day to make the world a better place. We may not have completely succeeded, but this is not an all-or-nothing game, or one with a definite end. We have made some progress, and will continue to make more with the participation of younger generations who will need to carry on after us.
I was 18 yrs old and also living in the Height Ashbury district San Francisco. Our generation went down in history because of what we stood for " PEACE and LOVE" movement. It was so beautiful and magical I remember young babies and children roaming free in their nakedness. It wasn't a big deal because we were free spirited and most of us would get nude ourselves. Dancing in Golden Gate Park as well as in the streets. The aroma of incense filled the air mixed in with Mary Jane. We tried to make a positive impact and difference in the world displaying love and peace for all of humanity. We tried but unfortunately we failed. We are old now with these precious and powerful memories we have been truly blessed to have been a part of this era and lived the very best of our lives. I am now 73 I look forward to leaving this world because of the way it has become now. The generations of the 70s and 80s get it....but the 90s and 20s generation have no idea what they are doing. This world will never be as we tried to make it become. It's very sad that those we love especially our grandchildren and great grandchildren will be left behind to endure of what's coming in this world that is full of hate and evilness.
Peace and love are eternal. Pete Seeger said that the world will be saved by a million small things. So, stick around and do a small thing before you leave.@@sheliacross6833
I've had this wish for a long time that all the radio stations in the world would coordinate one day to play this song over and over for 24 hours straight blasted through the streets of every country in the world so maybe they may finally get the message. This is my favorite song of all time.
Ironically, half the people trying to "other" their fellow Americans into oblivion rn are of the very generation that grew up with this song. They either forgot, or chose to ignore, the message. Their actions make it harder for the good boomers to connect and join forces with the new generation struggling to be heard, to be accepted, to be loved. Which may very well be the intent. But hate can't win forever. So, as the song says, C'mon, people now! Smile on your brother! Everybody get together! Try to love one another, right now!
@@dorkandproudofit They're happy to do that. AFTER they get rid of all the brown people, put LGBT people back in the closet, cut off EBT and Medicaid because those using it are bums who don't deserve it, and make their Christian laws US law despite their similarity to Sharia laws which they say are terrible.
I had a dream right after my dad died, and I saw my mom (who had already passed). And she was with my dad in an airport and she was buying plane tickets for them both. 😇
This song is timeless! The only way to change the course That humanity is headed towards, is to love one another and respect one another! This is how we will beat the Corona virus!
beat the coronavirus? we need to beat the OLIGARCHS who are pulling your strings with this phony virus. that hasnt even been isolated, for which there is no medically valid test!
Had a singer perform this at my husband’s funeral. We all sang the chorus together. It will be played and sung at my funeral one day. We were/are ministers. This song is very spiritual.
I'm listening to this song for healing what happened in Buffalo on Saturday. I live an hour away but this song resonates today like it 55 yrs ago. Come on people were all human let's live together help each other. An anthem for our times Peace ✌️
The events of January 2021 brought me here...just wish all us humans would take the words of this beautiful song to heart ❤🙏 and apply🙏 My hope is if someone listens to this song in a 100 years from now...if we last that long...they r in a kinder more loving world 🌎🙏
As a Baha'i, I have to agree with the sentiment, but it takes a long time to find ways to grow communities and fellow-feeling, especially with the failure (in the eyes of many reformers) of traditional ways of life (organised religions of the past, traditional morality etc)
This song brings tears to my eyes. I happened to be around back than. We are just a moments sunlight fading in the grass. So true. Let's be peaceable with everyone and never let the sun set angry with anyone.
Crying 🥺this song is so beautiful and profound. We loved this song in my Catholic grammar school we sang it on the playground, Hippies , Jesus "Freaks" Riots protests massive peace demonstrations and our poor vietnam vets were treated horribly when they came back ! We love you 🦅🕊️👍🇺🇸
09.06.2023 I'm here because I heard this song today while scanning through the stations. I've heard it many times, but today I seemed pressed to find out the name of the song & band. So when I got home, I went to Lyrics search, as I could only remember a couple of lines. Well, actually it's a pretty simple song w/only 2-3 basic lines. 😂 I'm from the 60's, born in 1957 & love/enjoy most of the 60/70's music. Never been anything like it since & never will be. ☮️✝️♥️✌️
They are playing these old songs on the radio but you have to find a good oldies station to hear them. Back then there were no stations that just played a specific genre. They played the top 20 from every genre on the old AM stations. They really mixed up blues, soul, R&B and rock. Look for WLS in Chicago in the 60’s here on CZcams and you too can hear what we heard. 😊
I agree the music of the 60s and70s was pure true music. You could hear every word and remember every tune. How wonderful. A resurrection age of music is needed more than ever🎉
Here because of Dino Valenti aka Chet Powers (songwriter) and the amazing band; Quicksilver Messenger Service. The Youngbloods knocked this song out of the park. We need to take this message to heart; and be the change we want to see, now more than ever. Peace and Love your Sister~Brother Everyone❤ 😻
This song, like most of all Chet Powers, songs bring me back to all of the Vietnam war and the collective momentum, our generation. Spoke out about and we didn't back down. We aren't dead yet and we need a resurrection and give this government a run for its money in a peaceful non violent way. Thank you Chet Powers, ( R.I.P.) for this song and, What About Me. ❤
“We were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark-that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.” - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
That is so much excellent what you said, what some of these individuals down here don't realize, is that man is man, we've been created by one creator, and they could go ahead and go to hell if they don't want to hang out with a black person or a red person or a yellow person, and the funky thing is, there's going to be some of them down there, oh boy, I know for one thing, in the end the Truth is really really really going to hurt
@James Ayers okay yes sir that's cool, I ain't trying to get no rip here, and no disrespect at all, we all have our own pathways , we got to go through and go down, and our own decisions
I've seen pictures of Peru, looks so beautiful. Watch the video of El Condor Pasa - Paul Simon & Garfunkel, video by arqags79 Look how happy the people look, how beautiful the country looks!
I can only speak for myself but yeah I still feel that way but times have changed. There is so much hatred in the world today it’s just a totally different thought process now days especially in the USA with all the White Supremacy and other B.S. out there. Not many people want to love one another for just being people...

I was in elementary school
nearing puberty,I remember the rope :)
Same thing with Queens bohemian rhapsody.
TO ALL OUR VETERANS THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO GOD BLESS YOU ALL
To all out there thank you for your warm wishes and please don't feel sorry for your Vietnam vets we served with pride and took care of each other.
Thank you for what you did for our country
@@debbieweber8314 They were exploited by the country. I don't thank them for that. I apologize for it.
The Vietnam War doc by Ken Burns brought me here. All veterans, especially Vietnam Vets, thank you for you service and sacrifice!
Hi Doctor Ray
You're very welcome. 1971, Phan Rang Airbase, South Vietnam...
Viet vets were exploited by the government. I don't thank them for this. I apologize.
This is truly a timeless classic. I grew up in the sixties. Tumultuous times. May you be forever young in your heart.
I come back here to listen one more time. This makes me reflect on old friends. Some are here, and others gone forever.
Right back at you☮️
I have always been fascinated by the sixties. It would be very interesting talking to someone who was around in america by that time. Im born. in 1979 in sweden myself. The music from the sixties is the best music in my opinion and the whole era really fascinates me.
I may have been born in '88
But I love music from the '60s and the '50s the '80s the '70s and the 40s long live old school 😎🎸🥁
I was born in the 50s and was in grade school and junior high. If I would of been in high school I definitely would of been at Woodstock.
Yes they were controversial times
2020 and still timeless , still a masterpiece and still people just will not do what the song says , sad
This song is eternal! Love to everyone💜
i agree!!
James Cox 🥰 🙏 ✌🏻

Master piece still listening to day at 68 years old.
Me also.....
We really did live in an incredible time… some of the 50’s, the wild 60’s, and coming of age in the early 70’s.
I'M 68 STILL LISTEN TO THIS MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG ECER
This song is so hauntingly beautiful, and sad, but beautiful.
It's a classic, for sure.
I come back to this from time to time. We need this message so much right now. Right now. Listen.
Yes music you yearn for theses days!!!!
Needed in 2020 as much as 1969, if not more.
@@kevc21 Exactly!
This song still sounds as fresh and beautiful as it did nearly 55yrs ago, still feel emotional all these years on 2022
I agree my man!
Absolutely!!
I saw The Youngbloods at a small hall in Boston in 1969. When they sang this song, it was magical! So beautiful, still gives me the chills. I’ll play it for my young grandchildren today. 🎶☮️🕊🙏🏻
Smile and love that makes you the winner.
You lucky !! 👍👍👍
Believe me when I tell you, they hate you for it.
Hermoso recuerdo. Saludos desde Argentina.🌼🌻🌷
Hola Argentina!
I'm 72 1/2 now and still hanging in there. I can still remember how I felt when I was 18 and first heard this song.
Get Together
Love is but a song we sing
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why
C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now
Some will come and some will go
And we shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass
C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now
If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen)
You hold the key to love and fear
In your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command
C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now
I LOVE this song. Really BEAUTIFUL to listen to. Lay back and relax.......?
When the One who left us here returns for us at last. Yippee!! 2-17-2023
Amen! Maranatha!
Is this Jesus or God they singing about
This song has been my favorite for decades. Should be made a World Anthem and kept in minds and hearts forever.
this song not only should never die, it can’t ever die.
One of the best songs of the 60's. We all need to get together and start to love one another. Mr. X
I love this song. It’s timeless
I still get chills just like I did when this song 🎵 first came out!! C'mon people now, *WAKE* ⏰ *UP!!!*
Hippie didn't die in 65' i am alive and well and so is my music. Tom Triumph
Still crying for all victims of violence and war. Please remember to be kind to everyone. Be the best.
I'm 58 seeing people who are dear to me going to heaven 1 by 1 and it's getting challenging down here without them. This song is a reminder to be strong like they were and keep a pure heart open to love.
After losing Three brothers from other mothers, this hits deep. My deepest regards and condolences to you.
Come on people lets get together, I swear its not to late.. You hold peace and love right there in your heart, Don't give up. Xman
Try too love one another right now ❤️
Classic music and lyrics that still hold up today, the message is the same.
@paulaandreottola9094 Wow, that's brutal. I was a couple years younger, but I knew one guy, a medic who came back addicted to drugs
The harmony, the picking, the message make this one of the best records ever. I'm 84 years old and had the pleasure of playing this on the radio both as a hit and as an oldie.
To all of you Thank you for my welcome Home and all my Brothers that never made it back to have a family and Grand kids ❤ I'll always be part of them.
This song should be the World's National Anthem.
I LOVE THIS CLASSIC 60'S SOUND. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE SOUND THAT I CANNOT DESCRIBE BUT YOU KNOW IT'S THE 60'S WHEN YOU HEAR THOSE INSTRUMENTS AND THAT VOICE.
It's the electric 12 string guitars and fender amps, the sound of the sixties!
Its not overproduced. The sound is raw and pure.
Drums in one pan, guitars second, vox bass Centre
@@JimiHendrixEX Has classic 60'S sound.
for me it's the bass. The Beatles, Stones, Mamas and Papas, Beach Boys..... the bass always sounds awesome.
Play this on my guitar 🎸 & sing it. Volunteer here in Tucson helping Vietnam Veterans get their disability Compensation. Did you know there are 5 different types of "Agent-Orange?" Welcome home my brave & honorable Vets.
This song is an Absolute Masterpiece!.....Praying for the World to Get It Together! 🙏
Keep "putting our soul power to the Karmic wheel" as JOhn Lennon said in Mind Games!
We sure need this song now. "Try to love one another right now!"
This refrain goes like wax! No wonder Curt Cobain used it for an intro. Go try to love one another right now... Not so easy you see.
#VeryTrue🥂🥂👍🎵🎹🎸💋💋✌✌🎵🎵🎵😊😊🙏
@@PeterBalssuweit I find it incredibly hard as I am an Animal rights activist who hates most of the human race.
Boy I hear ya my friend.
Peter Balssuweit what song was it?
I've had this wish for a long time that all the radio stations in the world would coordinate one day to play this song over and over for 24 hours straight blasted through the streets of every country in the world so maybe they may finally get the message. This is my favorite song of all time.
This classic should be society’s anthem. We need to get our togetherness back America 🇺🇸
So, as the song says,
C'mon, people now! Smile on your brother! Everybody get together! Try to love one another, right now!
@@dorkandproudofit Hear, hear !!!
How can they with rigged elections being allowed?
@@dorkandproudofit They're happy to do that. AFTER they get rid of all the brown people, put LGBT people back in the closet, cut off EBT and Medicaid because those using it are bums who don't deserve it, and make their Christian laws US law despite their similarity to Sharia laws which they say are terrible.
The way it’s going, it will not happen in the near future. I think something drastic will need to happen. I hope nothing so bad.
My absolute favorite from that era. I tear up every time I hear it, and play it every time I need to tear up.
"When the one who left us comes for us at last."
I had a dream right after my dad died, and I saw my mom (who had already passed). And she was with my dad in an airport and she was buying plane tickets for them both. 😇
Hi Jeff .... do you think they left ? Or have been waiting for this moment 🌞🌝🌟🙏💕💕

This song is timeless! The only way to change the course That humanity is headed towards, is to love one another and respect one another! This is how we will beat the Corona virus!
Otima musica que quase nao se ve mais
Globalism...sounds nice...it's just Tyranny on a GLOBAL scale...don't be fooled by pretty sounding words, that's how THEY get Sheep into the coral.
Respect is so lacking after 2000.
I think we need to paint it on our windows
beat the coronavirus? we need to beat the OLIGARCHS who are pulling your strings with this phony virus. that hasnt even been isolated, for which there is no medically valid test!
Had a singer perform this at my husband’s funeral. We all sang the chorus together. It will be played and sung at my funeral one day. We were/are ministers. This song is very spiritual.
Whoh! Touching!
It's a beautiful sing!! I grew up with this song, I'm a 1964 baby boomer
I'm listening to this song for healing what happened in Buffalo on Saturday. I live an hour away but this song resonates today like it 55 yrs ago. Come on people were all human let's live together help each other. An anthem for our times Peace ✌️
This is my favorite song from that era. Its message is timeless.
Who thinks the one that left us here comes for us at last is Jesus?
Amen
Right On.
Nope.
Indeed! That is exactly who they were singing about.
Yes. 🙏
This tune is one of those hippie anthems of the 60s that speaks volumes, and is magical and holds a very special place in history!!!
Absolutely
I was a teenager, waiting to get DRAFTED , wow I made it, and cherish ever single minute of my life, Peace.
Once again I can't thank everyone enough that tagged here about welcoming home your Vietnam vets ❤
These men have left us, but have not left us without guidance.
It's very true it's very important to have guidance it what I ask for everyday
The events of January 2021 brought me here...just wish all us humans would take the words of this beautiful song to heart ❤🙏 and apply🙏
My hope is if someone listens to this song in a 100 years from now...if we last that long...they r in a kinder more loving world 🌎🙏
✌️🌞😎😇😎🌞✌️
We need this now!!! Too much division!!!!!
As a Baha'i, I have to agree with the sentiment, but it takes a long time to find ways to grow communities and fellow-feeling, especially with the failure (in the eyes of many reformers) of traditional ways of life (organised religions of the past, traditional morality etc)
Too bad there are so many violent lying commies in our country!
☮️🙏🏻
Ladies and Gentlemen, please rise for our new national anthem. I think in these times we could use it.
You Said it. Very Thoughtful comment. Beautiful song I've heard it so many times and makes me think.
Thank you, I love it 💕
No joking right
put your trust in Jesus and you will be at what this song sings
“Right now” repeated we hold the key…just one key unlocks them both”.
I want to cry every time I hear or perform this song. I wanted to cry a different way when I heard it being used in a commercial.
This song brings tears to my eyes. I happened to be around back than. We are just a moments sunlight fading in the grass. So true. Let's be peaceable with everyone and never let the sun set angry with anyone.
Tears came to me as well. Peace is possible and will happen in our lifetime that I am sure of.

I'm here because I heard this song today while scanning through the stations.
I've heard it many times, but today I seemed pressed to find out the name of the song & band. So when I got home, I went to Lyrics search, as I could only remember a couple of lines. Well, actually it's a pretty simple song w/only 2-3 basic lines. 😂
I'm from the 60's, born in 1957 & love/enjoy most of the 60/70's music.
A resurrection age of music is needed more than ever🎉
hippie national anthem ! you hold the key to love and fear, all in your true loving hand.just what we need right now.
"Finally Free".
Sobrenatural ❤️
One of the all time greatest feel good tunes. Iconic. Always.
This song still touches my heart fifty years later. Maybe even more so than when I was a teenager
Here because of Dino Valenti aka Chet Powers (songwriter) and the amazing band; Quicksilver Messenger Service. The Youngbloods knocked this song out of the park. We need to take this message to heart; and be the change we want to see, now more than ever. Peace and Love your Sister~Brother Everyone❤

@swimlowgirl, till those that want to kill us agree to stop fighting it will be this way
Something you youngsters do not get! All this peace and love you enjoy was won with the point of a bayonet
Sadly, …. Hate and discord is hard wired into the human genome; it would take an enormous amount of willpower to overcome it.
Played at my moms funeral.. one of her favorites… she was a hippie through and through .. class of 66… I love you mom and miss you everyday!
Iconic song from the 60s....the electric guitar, the vocals...the melody......all arranged beautifully.
Truly the song that is needed to heal our world today

I'M AFRAID IT'S TOO LATE. CRAZY DEM'S HAVE GONE OFF THE DEEP END. IMAGINE A SOCIALIST AMERICA.
So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark-that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.”
- Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

yeah, what she said!!! PEACE & LOVE!
I agree completely and totally, love sees no color no shape no sizes we have been created by the Almighty we need to try to follow his script

“You hold the key to love and fear in your trembling hand.” How true. Choose love. There is no alternative.
This is how I wish everyone in the world felt about each other. I'll keep on loving even when I'm hated.
I can only speak for myself but yeah I still feel that way but times have changed. There is so much hatred in the world today it’s just a totally different thought process now days
especially in the USA with all the White Supremacy and other B.S. out there. Not many people want to love one another for just being people...
