This is truly blue eyed soul. HOT! When I was growing up in the early 60's all my friends were listening to rock and roll. I was listening to Motown, Aretha, Delphonics, and this and later the I was getting down to the Philly sound and Salsoul. Great memories. This white boyis still partying to soulful house music..

Vietnam era tune came out late 69 , but a big hit late 7/70. I was 13 heard it on Philadelphia's WFIL Famous 56. Great hippy /disco tune . The miniskirts, love beads , bell bottoms , and the abuse/use of drugs. Peace on out people.

We'll probably never see this kind of music ever again, alas. But I like to reminisce anyway. I remember when I was a very young boy in late 60's early 70's my much older sister would have dance parties in our basement on weekends. I remember a lot of these records in the way I used to hear them- coming up through my bedroom floor!

I loved this record. I was 12, and I played it until the grooves were actually white and hissy. I did cop a used one a few years ago which is in "Mint Condition". I like the vinyl sound better. Sometimes "stereo" can kill a song. This was one of the best records of that year. Plus I thought the label was HOT!

Great classic song that should have been a hit in britain after good airplay on the radio.
