    This is truly blue eyed soul. HOT! When I was growing up in the early 60's all my friends were listening to rock and roll. I was listening to Motown, Aretha, Delphonics, and this and later the I was getting down to the Philly sound and Salsoul. Great memories. This white boyis still partying to soulful house music..

    Misty eyes listening to this, 12 in 1970, my opinion one of the best intros to a song ever and a great story, only found out years later that these guys were white, I'd put these guys up there with Motown 's Rare Earth, blue eyed soul, Holland Dozier Holland one of the great song writing teams of all time...

      what I really love is the great story that the words tell....that's what makes it such a pop song...."and my mind catches a ride on the WB #9...." such a classic line that it is repeated//great song....MindBodySoul came first and went high as a #26 Thanksgiving of '69; WB9 followed about summer of 70 and it went high as a #24 and later on they gave us I'mNotMyBrothersKeeper, November 70 and that went to a #34.......recall that in 69 they were up against the likes of ComeTogether; AndWhenIDie; WeddingBellBlues; TakeALetterMariaAddressItToMyWife; NaNaNaNaHeyHeyblahblahblahblah....yes, that one and even Elvis and SuspiciousMinds...so yes the competition was gruesome but they put out some great records...dma 009

    Vietnam era tune came out late 69 , but a big hit late 7/70. I was 13 heard it on Philadelphia's WFIL Famous 56. Great hippy /disco tune . The miniskirts, love beads , bell bottoms , and the abuse/use of drugs. Peace on out people.
