As a Swede the pressure has been released and now I can enjoy watching the Russian team dominate. Will be fun to see how Finland keeps on fighting too.
I used to always cheer for Finland as a kid (liked their jerseys) but that changed with that terrible game where the Swedes did that insane come back with like 5 goals in a row or something. I haven't watched IIHF until last year since then. It was the most depressing loss I have ever seen in any sport.
well good luck Finland against Russia. I don't think Russia will let it slide, but who knows, anything can happen, would be cool if it will be Finland against Czech Republic in the finals and Russia against Canada for bronze, but who am I kidding. After watching Russia playing against USA. I can say one thing - Russian bear was saving its true savagery till the end, and they showed it against the USA full force. Will they be able to keep it up? One thing for sure though - it will be a great spectacle.
These highlights are lazy, they used to be better. No struggles, no close calls, even with Sweden's 3-4 goal the announcer says it hits the goalpost and the highlight moves on without showing what happened in detail. I don't know who's idea these ultra short highlights are but I don't like them.
And often they just show the puck drop, like if the 1st period is goalless. So they have time to put there one of the most trivial thing in hockey, but no close calls, fine saves etc.

This year was simply not swedens year, we definitely had some mental pressure/issue in our team that were stopping us to play at our full capacity and sharpness. I think that the finish team have the perfect mindset and potential this year, everything to win and nothing to lose mindset and just go all in and fight the whole 60 minutes with no fear, and I really believe that is the mindset that you need to beat russia. :) Will be really interesting
Sweden didn’t play hockey tonight. They didn’t compete. They had no match coaching. Finland were free to stick to their game plan, and What a game plan! Went full on for the win - taking zero prisoners in the process - and as Sweden didn’t show up for the clash, Finland just kept pushing and eventually got that well earned victory. As a Swede, this game was an horrible ordeal to endure that I wish I’ll never experience again. As for our Finland brothers, you know you deserved the win, and good luck to you in the semifinals. Just go for it!

I was really hoping USA would beat Russia... but I knew it wouldnt happen. But I was surprised how close the Americans were to actually beat Russia. I love USA and hope that they will win medal next year. -From Finland.
I hope Finland wins this year! They prove its possible to reach top results without NHL superstars. SM-Liiga, SHL, NLA, DEL and KHL players etc. has good enough skill and ability if they are coached properly! Jukka Jalonen is definitely one of my top 5 favorite coaches. Please come to Norway one day!! I wouldn't be surprised if he could reach a quarterfinal with Norwegian Get-Liiga players!

Sweden only played 1 period of hockey and then just gave up and stod stod still for the rest of the match. Finland on the other hand pushed on and kept going untill the end and deserved the win. Good luck in the semis! From Sweden.

You do realize that the refs didn't make an offside call that lead to your goal right? But nahh just keep complaining. Won't help you against Mother Russia :P
@@Kevin-cb5wq gtfo, did you even watch the game?? the refs missed at least 10 calls. The refs didn't call any penalty they should have for Sweden, but rather made a call on even the slightest taps. A finnish player could've blown air at a swede and the ref would've given Finland a 5min penalty.
That's the mistake they made - throw Finland into an underdog position and treat them unfair. That's when they do their best.

SM-Liiga, SHL, NLA, DEL and KHL players etc. has good enough skill and ability if they are coached properly! Jukka Jalonen is definitely one of my top 5 favorite coaches. Please come to Norway one day!! I wouldn't be surprised if he could reach a quarterfinal with Norwegian Get-Liiga players!
