    Honestly the jury votes was the most exciting this year compared to the televotes, because most people expected Ukraine to win the televote, so that excitement to see who'd win wasn't there. But it was generally exciting to see the voting process this year because there was multiple favorites!

      How many times did Spain vote for Portugal and Portugal didn't vote for Spain??? perhaps it is that Spain this year had a superb proposal and deserved the 12 points. Anyway, that was the jury's score, the Spanish televote did.

    I was happy to see the UK do so well. Sam gave a fantastic performance, and his song was one of my favorites this year. Also it's fun watching this the day after and being like "oh just wait" when Matt says "it's not going to be Ukraine". :)
    I kinda felt bad for Germany getting 0 from the juries this year. I don't always like Germany's entries, but I thought Malik had a good song, and he gave a good performance. I mean, I didn't expect it to be up there or anything, but maybe a couple of points.

    I LOVE seeing people like you who thought the juries weren't gonna vote for Spain because of past voting patterns getting wowed by the result. The truth is, Chanel WAS the full package and I'm glad both the juries and the public saw that, the best entertainer we've seen since Loreen I'd dare to say. If it wasn't for Ukraine sweeping she probably would've taken the whole thing because Sam Ryder didn't get nearly enough televotes as she did and the final difference between Spain and the UK was only 7 points.

      @alipanroosendaal9503 Před 2 lety +4

      I doubt that assessment. Rap songs, or songs containing a rap element, never receive jury points. Suddenly one gets 4th place. Coincidence? I don't think so. Jurors were (maybe subconsciously) more sympathetic. Plus, the countries involved in the semi-final vote-rigging had their votes transferred and averaged, so we don't even know the accurate final jury score. With respect, your comment smacks of confirmation bias.

    • @sannev8407
      @sannev8407 Před 2 lety +2

      @@alipanroosendaal9503 Not all rap songs do bad with the juries, btw this not a rap song only, it was a good song that combined cultural and modern elements that can be played on the radio, with a very well-executed performance, and the juries rewarded that. It's no sympathy. I mean, they placed Italy's rock song from 2021 4th AND Soldi also 4th, which was also kind-of a rap song. It's not THAT weird.
      with respect, you're talking nonsense. The jury score is the accurate final score given. Those 6 juries DID make agreements to vote on each other so it's only fair they were removed. And the points were not 'given' to Ukraine, but were aggregate results given, and the most part of them went to the UK actually. And it's not like those few extra point they got would have mattered, since they had a fair amount of points before the 5th place

    I just find out Romania gave 12 points to Moldova and Eurovision banned that vote and gave nothing to Moldova.
    Also bans was given to the jury from Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Poland, Montenegro, San Marino.
    So I don't think there were technical difficulties with Romania or Azerbaijan connection.

    Portugal getting 10 points from Ukrainian Jury. It felt like 12 points as for some reason I always "knew" the 12 points would go to the UK but it`s ok because Sam song is good. As a Portuguese I`m so happy Portugal was 5th with Jury and 9th on final scoreboard. Well deserved. Could be a bit higher but it`s not bad. Congrats to UKRAINE.

    For years in my opinion many countries used this competition to demonstrate their political sympathies. I'm not talking just about Ukraine winning this year. Each year we see some countries giving the highest points to the countries they favor. It's a shame. And it has made this competition quite boring. Next year I'll just watch it for some good music, and will turn off when the political show begins.

    UKRAINE WON POLITEUROVISION!
    OH, WHAT A SURPRISE! HO HO HO!
    "Please help Ukraine, Mariupol. Help Azovstal now.", vocalist Oleh Psyuk called from the front of the stage after the band's performance.
    According to this statement, if PolitEurovision followed its own rules, the Ukrainians would have to be disqualified.
    But since Eurovision has been PolitEurovision for years, this could not have happened.
    Ten years ago, in an interview with "Metal Hammer", the great Ian Paice said something that applies in full force to what Ukrainians presented to PolitEurovision: "Technically, it's music. Musically, it has nothing to do with music!"
    However, when politics enters music (and sports - the upcoming Wimbledon), it does not lose politics.
    Last night's porn on PolitEurovision proved it!
