    The major crime is the "professionalism" of the juries, which is a blend of politics and their unsolicited opinions.

    Totally agree with the top crime from Wiwi - a deliberate and cold blood sinking of the true winner. Mind you it is the second year in a row when 'professional' jurers voted down a crowds favourite and a winner of the televote. i actually don't think they were trying to get Ukraine on the top, I think it was supposed to be Australia as per the grey cardinals plans (just think whose merchandise was on official sale in the Arena, right Sweden and Australia). However it joys my heart that it is Il Volo and Sergey who are in the biggest demand and their commercial success will reconfirm true winners.

      thats why we understand in Russia now, that its useless to send the best Russian artists, the jury will never let Eurovision happen in Russia again. Sergey, Polina will not come back. there is no sense....50 % is too much for juries.In the semi final they gave Sergey good points, but in the final they changed their points, not giving even 1 or 2 points, it would be enough for him to win! didn't he deserve 2 points or 1 point from the experts? was he so bad? half of experts gave him zero in the final only!!! it was the biggest crime for sure!

    • @discoheavenxx
      @discoheavenxx Před 7 lety +6

      Exactly! Russia has stepped their game up and the televote has proven it. We're ready for another Russian victory. The public has left political bullshit aside (the televote from 2014 to 2016 prove it) but the juries haven't! The juries need to get axed or at least shift some of the power to the audience...50% is way too much power for five people per country.

      Trust me, Eurovision would have been even better without him.
      The REAL countries that showed high level this year: Iceland, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Armenia, Australia, Israel, FYROM, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia. These are quality entries and we need more of them at Eurovision. Don't worry, we can survive without Russia's cheap rubbish.
      Last year you sent an amazing and meaningful quality song performed by a great singer and I'm happy you did better because it would have been a shame to see Sergey doing better than my beloved Polina. Please send something similar again and you will deserve to win. No more generic songs for the victory. For a good result yes (if they are good), but NOT for the victory.

    IMHO, the worst crime is that 37 out of 41 national juries gave Australia points. especially comparing to 21 and 17 juries not giving Russia and Ukraine a single point respectively. Australian entry was good, but not that overwhelmingly good to get such an appreciation. My top 5 crimes:
    1. Czech Republic got only 41 points total (and 0 televoting points). However: I voted for Russia instead of CR because her staging was horrible in my opinion. I prefer her song over Russia's but the staging was too weak and so she became "only" my number 2.
    2. The voting resulted in a winner who wouldn't have won a pure tele- or jury-voting. A song which nobody wanted to win won in the end because the juries have robbed Russia by voting it down so massively. This was the second time the juries prevented the televoting winner to win this thing (in both cases by a huge margin) but this year it was even worse because even the jury-winner didn't win. I didn't expect that Russia would win the jury voting. For me the song was ~ 2nd or 3rd. But I also didn't expect that they would rank this song so low that it wouldn't have a real chance to win.
    3. Juries were rude to Poland.
    4. Juries killed Kaliopi (didn't expect this, I was sure they would rank her much higher than the televoters).
    5. Estonia became last in the semi-final (however Jüri's performance was horrible and let him appear like a big asshole)

    I agree with u guys with the spanish performance. I understand that it felt slightly empty at times... But i still support the idea that Barei disserved at least a top 15 possition. I mean i dont think its just about the song or the performance, i think its also because its just Spain and not Sweden or Russia, if this song and performance was exactly taken as it is to Stockholm representong Sweden, it wouldv placed much higher! Anyways greetings from Spain!

      As an American, I was very disappointed when they blocked the CZcams livestream. I was saved, however, when they actually played it on tv. I thought that it was so nice to be able to watch it on tv, but my biggest crime was the American commentators. They made me want to rip my hair out. They related EVERYTHING to LGBT stuff (now don't get me wrong. I still support the LGBT population, but they were going off for ever about the singers who either supported LGBT rights or were LGBT) and during the voting process, they bashed the returning stars of Eurovision (Marayya from Slovenia and Nina S. From Georgia) by calling them show offs and dissing their style. Overall, they knew nothing about Eurovision and only focused on the LGBT parts of it.

    • @michelsennett5375
      @michelsennett5375 Před 7 lety

      I would expect nothing less from Carson Cressley. I don't know the other commentator, but they don't have the experience and knowledge that the European broadcasters have. I watched it here in Norway from the Swedish and Danish television and they were great and balanced. The Danish commentator was bummed that Denmark was not in the final. I was even at the Telecom arena to watch it live at a big fan festival. I'm glad that Eurovision supports the LGBT community but that is a spoke in the big wheel of Eurovision.

    Just a tip: When you have several people sing a song a capella, use a pitch pipe or something. Both when you sing together or with Eurovision artists. "Moment of Silence" would have sounded a lot better if they had taken Spinal Tap's advice: "The same key, though?" 😉

      @summerwine4291 Před 7 lety +1

      Sorry to disappoint you... this was not what I meant to say, forgive me for this. I find this "drama" entirely false and I despise Jamala as a pearsonality though she is a really talented singer. She should have revealed her talent somewhere else, but here she is a bad winner. IMHO.

    • @wilbeugre
      @wilbeugre Před 7 lety +2

      +SummerWine Thanks for your opinion.
      Since I really am not that well informed about the story Ukraine and Russia share together, what I wrote is all I could say on the matter. I should study more of their history...
      Anyway, isn't it a bit harsh to despise Jamala for her choice? She may be wrong (even after considering all the possible outcomes and impact such a song would have), but I still believe that there's still time for correct and/or atonement if needed.
      That's why I think it's a bit harsh to despise her, but I can understand that you may have been hurt by such a staging if you truly believe that it's not the truth.

    • @summerwine4291
      @summerwine4291 Před 7 lety

      +Wilfried BEUGRE
      For me it is not harsh at all since I know for sure what all the action was aimed to. And unfortunately the Ukranian singer could not be unaware of it as well. She could try to win with any other song about love, birds, flowers... but without this disguisting polytical smell.
      Of course Russia had no chance to win whatever but still...
      You don't have to study the Ukraine-Russia history maybe since time will show it...

    Greta Salome is my #1 crime this year because I love her so much! I love the song I love the performance, it was in my top three from the beginning, I couldn't understand how it could not qualify.
    I loved Spain so much, it was my favorite song, but you're right (I had the exact same thought when I saw the first rehearsal).
    Barei is amazing and she had so much energy on stage, she couldn've nailed it all alone, but the background singers just didn't fit at all!
    Despite the backgrond singers, I think Spain should've had a higher place! Spain has been underrated for years, I just can't understand it!

    • @WilliamLeeAdams
      @WilliamLeeAdams Před 7 lety

      It was so weird. At Eurovision itself Norway just totally slipped off my radar. I think a part of that was because she did exactly zero press conferences / promo / red carpet and when you're covering it as a journalist that becomes your barometer / indicator of everything. Still a nice song though.

    • @pomina5653
      @pomina5653 Před 7 lety

      To be honest, I don't think that any of these affected Norway's final results. Maybe for Eurovision fans like us but not for people for whom Eurovision is just a three-nights event. I'm sure they don't even care if she appeared in the interviews.
      I think Norway didn't do well because of the tempo change. If I remember well, at first you thought the tempo change was a big disappointment. I thought exactly the same. And remember, most televoters listen to the songs for the first time in May.
      I thought the juries would save them but I was wrong...

    Has anyone forgotten Norway.. or was the song and Agnete so forgetable? Sure she didn't wine and dine with the media, but not qualify? Romania should blame itself and not the EBU for betraying Ovidiu. But as I see from the comments, there are a lack of comments about this! So I agree with 4 of the top five kids.
    Other 'crimes':
    1) Only 3 songs were performed entirely in a language other than English. We all know that English is the language of pop music, but please!
    2) to add to number one.. France used English! Sacre bleu!

    4) Freddie 'singing' English
