You can do it with the jack in your car and a 40$ tool kit from harbor freait. just make sure you watch enopgh videos before attempting it. ChrisFix has some great videos on it, and everything els lol

@@xtxtremeal8391 In Germany you can demand that they stop everything and put everything back. As long as the car is street legal they CAN NOT keep your car against your will. They can however send you the bill for the hours they put in and everything that they might have already repaired.
When I was 17 a mechanic told me this.... 1 bolt on my wheel had snapped leaving 3 perfectly fine(still legal to drive) he then charged me £179 to get the bolt out. Took him 33 minutes. He fucked me sexy little arse that day. Metaphorically.

I'm 99% sure this is footage of my mum's mechanic.
Ya some try to take advantage of women. My ma had a car from a crooked dealer. She called me one day telling me they told her "It's on the hoist and we found it needs a fuel injection cleaning" also her front brakes were "critical" and needed replacement for $600. I put pads and rotors on it 6 months later for $250 buying good parts
In Australia we have these Mobile mechanics. They come around and "service" your car and then tell you what is broken, and then tell you how cheap they can fix it, usually for about 150% more than a non-mobile mechanic.
Also, my father-in-law has used them for years ( even though I am a mechanic and would do the work for near free) and they never mentioned the leaking diff and never topped it up, soooooo, new diff required. 1000 bucks to fix for a $1500.00 car all because shit mechanic.

I would either a) Wait until I had all the equipment needed to safely do the job (this might mean taking the car to a friends house who has the gear) or b) do some digging online for a workshop that you can trust to carry out the work. No matter if you do the work or a workshop does the work, check it all and test it on some bumps at low speed. If a spring isn't seated right and pops out it's best you cause it to happen at low speed and get it sorted. You want to be DAMN sure without any doubt those springs are installed properly because if you hit a pothole at high speed and one or more springs comes loose, the car might do something unpredictable and your life might be changed forever.

Ryan Gross I agree, you can get a lot of your own stuff done if you're not a complete fucktard, but believe me, there are plenty out there. Only last month I had to look at someones car who had done their own brakes to sort an mot failure, they had actually managed to fit the pads back to front! As in the metal backing was facing the disc! And still drove to the retest without realising.
I always thought things like that were a myth lol, but no, people can be that stupid, ha ha ha!

Auto Show & Go lol had the same thing happen to my wheels after a tire change but I only noticed it when I got home so I just let it be because I didn’t feel like arguing with the mechanic.
Thats sucks Pavlo95 I always do a full walk around before and after any service. I try to do as much work on my cars as I can but somethings are warranty or just outside my skill level. When I took the car in I asked them to do the rotate for me since they where taking the front wheels off anyhow to replace the front rotors and calipers as part of a recall. I'll never let anyone else rotate the wheels on my Mustang again!

If you want to REALLY sound like a car guy, keep doing it repeatedly until it starts making people uncomfortable. Bonus points if you describe parts of the car in vaguely sexual language. Extra bonus points if you correct people who use the word "it".

I'm not a mechanic and I fix my own car because it's not fucking hard if you have two functioning hands and legs. If you have a functioning brain too you can use Google and figure out how to do stuff, too! *b r e t t y d o p e*
Maybe you can figure out how to replace a part using google but diagnosis is a different story. Real mechanics that understand every system in your car and how they work together are priceless.

(before anything, i want let you know that i have never worked in a car, so dont take my word for it). Now, I think you should at least give it a try. if it works, great, if it does not, now you know what your limits are
DONT change the springs yourself if you aint got the right equipment. Springs like breaks are security relevant parts. If the mechanics around you are morons, which i as mechanic myself truly believe, try to find someone you would trust, even if its a bit more of a drive to get there. There are a lot of stupid morons in my buiseness that try to f*** people. I hope you find a good mechanic in your area. Good luck and good drive

Matuki In addition to the muffler bearings (you should really upgrade to the Chrome or stainless steel Muffler bearings) you should replace the kinibbler pin , the kinoodler valve , the Johnson rod , the ch'upping bar , the woodruff key ,but under no circumstances should you replace the Hydrasolator yourself! Leave that to a professional!

Your boss gonna tell you what to do. He is gonna tell you to don't repare but replace parts (shop earns money by parts!), to try to get easy stuff done (fluids sell very good too) and to be as fast as possible (so you can't do the best job you would be able to do). And if there is not enough work to do he will tell you to change parts that would still do for a while or don't need to be replaced at all.

This funny but as a technician I try to do the best by my customers they are our business they are our money they keep a roof over our head. All techs are deffinalty not like this tho
This is hilarious! Speaking of shysters, I used to have a Celica GT-S and one time I took it to the Toyota dealership for a regular inspection. They gave me a massive list of things that needed replacing and said I may as well sell the car before it dies. I was quoted $2500. One of the things on the list was that my car apparently needed the auto trans fluid changed, but the car was standard! They charged me $150 for the inspection but all they really did was wash the car. I took it to a reliable mechanic and he couldn’t find anything wrong with the car! So I gave the dealership a lengthy 1 Star review on their Facebook page so everyone who visited the page would see that review on their home page for 2 years!
