Maya: Rainy Streaks With Event

- Raindrops are more or less round. For visualization, however, rainfall depicted as STREAKS is the better method. Streaks are easy to handle with the nParticle system, but they cannot be rendered using Arnold. You have to use the Maya render engine for compositing, or you render tiny spheres with Arnold and apply Motion Blur.

Hi there...do you have any idea how to make a starfield as a huge sphere that you could then animate a ship flying in...kinda like intro to star trek tng....thanks
if i would do this it would cost time and money.
My streaks come out segmented. It looks like it is a borken line instead of a solid streak.
