I was 12 when this came out, it was a total banger when it came out. 42 years later, i am still singing it and just about everyone my age still loves it. As you said, it makes you think of summer and happy days, totally uplifting.
If you want to fill an empty dance floor in Scotland, all you need to do is put this on, and the floor will be mobbed!
Not just Scotland but Ireland and Britain as well.

The band are from Birmingham, England, but the video was filmed in south London.

@@Shilo-fc3xmDublin is not in Britain. There was literally a war fought over that. In fact, Australia has a Union Jack on it’s flag so you’re more British than Dublin.
@@Dreyno Thank you for the geo political lesson. Many people around the globe are still not knowledgeable about even their own borders. If you asked the average American how many states there are I think a high percentage would get the answer wrong. I’m sure our Australian friend meant no disrespect and actually he mentions having been to Great Britain but he doesn’t say he visited Ireland. Also as far as the setting of the video goes it could easily be somewhere in Ireland, Scotland, Wales or indeed South London. Cheers from a Yank that just loves good music.
It's actually called "Come on, Eileen" the comma is VERY important or it's a very different kind of song.

This was all over MTV back in the early eighties. Couldn't turn on the TV and MTV at any time and it not be on, or just finishing up or coming up.

I dug this at first but became soooo overplayed I can listen anymore. Best of success on yr channel.The 1960s is my favorite decade for music best singers, songs and songwriters. I dug alot of 80s music also.
