    Don’t give up. Each day gets better. Remember to not look down when you take off. Important to focus on a point in front of you.
    I thought I would be able to do it for the first week. Perseverance is key.

    No, you don't relearn how to ride, it's relearning mounts and dismounts on the heavy wheel with higher pedals. I started on a V8F mid 2020, have the Patton now. I had success using hiking poles. The V8 has a good cover available that will protect it from falls.
    Great job on the V8S. I'm impressed.

    What up bro!! I commend you and respect your honesty. It's not everyday that men admit to being afraid of anything. Kudos to you for trying to learn something new. At 50 years old, I've decided that I'm gonna pass on the EUC's. I'll stick to the Onewheel, I'll probably upgrade to the GTS at some point, but the EUC's are a different kettle of fish. I know my limitations. Anyway, don't give man. I'm anxious to see where you take it.

    Smiling and watching this. Keep working at it. IMO it is easier to learn on a harder surface. Using that fence and the jeep, to me, is perfect. Learned on a commander pro on concrete. I was able to use a small hallway to get used to balance. Mind over matter. The wheel(s) have power but so do you.

    Hey Man! Love your videos and have been following since I switched from Onewheel to EUC myself about 6 months ago. I also started with a V8S and it was fantastic to learn on.
    I have an Inmotion V14 now, and If I could offer some advice on mounting your Lynx, you should try to get more comfortable balancing it against one leg. Go on short little hops with just one leg on the wheel to get a feel for the balance. This will help free mounting a lot in the future, and also remove the need for you to hold onto the handle when attempting to mount.
    You're already making great progress! All the learning happens while you're sleeping the day after a good practice session, so you're better every day!
    Ride safe and float on, my friend.
    The breakthrough is coming!

    Nicely done! I've only been at it with EUCs for about 6 months now (I'm 40, FYI). I started on a Kingsong 16X and had a heck of a time at first. It definitely took me a few weeks before I could do the basics without feeling like I was going to fall all of the time. After getting much better on it, I ordered a Lynx. I was pretty bummed at first because I just couldn't ride it. I kept trying to do shorts straight runs in my living room to get things down so it didn't feel like I'd tilt over at any second. When I finally tried things outside, it definitely felt pretty sketchy! That said, I've only had the Lynx for a couple of months now and I'm already offroading, dropping curbs, doing small jumps, and hitting 25mph regularly (sometimes 30, but that still feels sketchy to me). I really felt like I wasn't going to be able to ride the thing at all for awhile there! Just thought I'd share as a newer rider because so many people gloss over how difficult the learning curve on these bigs wheels can be. You'll definitely get it and just know you're certainly not alone in feeling like the Lynx is a crazy beast to even get the basics on for a bit there! After you nail that V8S, the Lynx won't feel easy, but it will feel much more approachable. Best of luck and happy riding man!

    Hey man stick with it! I bought a master as my first wheel and it kicked my ass all over the place. I was practicing in the garage and put a hole in the drywall and a dent in the freezer.
    I bought a v5 (cheapest could find) just as a learner wheel like your v8s. I didn’t mind dropping it as much and that made a big difference in confidence. Now I’m back on the master after a couple months with a little more confidence but still a lot of learning ahead of me! You got this!!

      Get a cheap used lightweight wheel to learn on. Although the v8s is $650 on Amazon this week and that's a good deal!
      DO NOT LEARN on a high performance wheel. About 10%-20% of used wheels are from those who bit off more than they could chew.

    • @therealbergexperience5640
      @therealbergexperience5640  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I will say it’s a lot easier learning on the V8s. The Lynx is light for a high performance wheel but it’s a behemoth for a new rider like myself. I’ll say I bit off more than I could chew but I’m still glad to have. It’s beautiful 😂 sitting in the kitchen. I still get on it every couple of days but the V8s is what I’m actually able to ride. Either way good luck on your journey my friend!!

      @@therealbergexperience5640
      I’m thrilled that you shared this video. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking at used EUCs for sale, and its unfortunate how many people jumped into beginning on a hyped wheel only to regret the decision and lost the motivation to continue riding. This is a huge 800-pound gorilla of a problem for the industry representatives to manage. and it harms the long term interests of all EUC riders by severely limiting the organic growth rate of this PEV market segment.
      There are dozens of EUC ‘learning experiences’ that I might not have survived uninsured if it had not been for my 300Watt beginner wheel. Learning on an underpowered wheel is actually far more skills enriching than most people appreciate. Every moment of riding and learning new skills on an EUC is pure joy (except for the pain).
      Anyone considering an EUC currently has a headwind of marketing hype to overcome in making a good decision for their future selves. There are hundreds of reasonable starter wheels coming from a community of riders who generally care for their vehicles.
      Lastly, the v8s is a great wheel at a great price of $650(new). But… the axle isn’t made to withstand curb drops for most people over 120#. So it’s great at everything ‘commuter’ but not aerial maneuvers.
      The best thing about learning on a lower power wheel is that you can more safely learn to recognize eminent power cut-out signals, voltage-sage and ‘dips’ (just before cut-out), then learn to body memory necessary to ‘ride the dips’ and recover power by lightening the current demand through your stance and gentle movements with your machine. This makes for a great start to a lifelong endeavor. Congratulations on doing EUCs right! {And, I think the Lynx is worth waiting for (just store the battery at between 30%-80% State-of-Charge, and it will be fine for years, if checked annually. I’ve got a feeling that you’ll be riding both within a few months. Good luck

    On grass, a few things to note:
    1. On grass it’s harder to ride.
    2. You don’t need protection above the waist at your current level.
    You are still trying to protect your wheel. 😄. You need to just let it drop. Yeah your heart will hurt but you will learn much faster.
    Also see if there are any local riders, it’s easier to learn with a group.

Try to ride on smooth hard ground preferably in a place with something you can hold onto like the inside of a tennis court. I was riding on the streets on a learning on a 100lb veteran sherman (im 130lb) and when I'd stop I'd have to hold the wheel. Like I said you will learn to ride before you can comfortably dismount/mount and that's normal! You will find many OW riders switch to euc but seldom the other way around. Take the pads off. First of all you have them on backwards, second, you don't need them for this wheel and they'll actually get in the way of your learning how to ride and adjusting your foot placement. To turn, just naturally look in the direction you want to go while turning your body the same way.

  • @rkaid7
    @rkaid7 Před 3 měsíci +1

    watched ur last 4 vids. ur through the hardest bit imo.
    . u need to nail the foot placement. when u miss it, stop and take off again. each second ur moving, is a second that ur wasting not practicing nailing the foot placement on first go. easy on v8, harder trying to move ur foot into correct position while moving forward on Lynx's more grippy pedals.
    . Ull learnt how to dismount from above step
    . Learning to turn wide is slow will just come to you.
    . Lastly, the fast it goes the hard it is to fall off, as well as turn. this is gyro effect. Watch this 5 times, and the rest ill come after from just riding. Dont stop riding, the brain will sort out the mappings and balance. czcams.com/video/IulOODBDfQg/video.html
