I went opening week, and let me tell you, the theater ERUPTED when MatPat appeared on screen! I clocked “Ness” RIGHT away as a Game Theory reference! We, as fans, and as a community, are so happy for and proud of you, Matthew.

As someone who works on big budget films like this, you totally get it dude. The massive scale, the dedication and organization that goes into it, the complexity that goes into what could amount to a few seconds, the digging for information despite being part of production. The film set is a crazy place and it's my love of that chaos that keeps me going.

It's definitely a lot of fun, but also very stressful. Im a special effects technician so my job usually involves pyrotechnics and fabricating stuff like stunt cars. Id say it's 90% no sleep chaos and stress and 10% feeling like a rockstar. Seeing the final product at the end is what makes it all worth it, it's hard to see how every departments role will fit in until your watching it a few years later.

Critics may not have been impressed, but this movie was 100% made _for_ the fans. They knew exactly who their target audience was, and knew exactly what they wanted.

My son is a very big fan of yours. I took him to see the movie in theaters opening night. When he and I recognized you, we turned to each other and said “That’s MatPat.” At the same time. He had a huge smile on his face and was so happy you actually got to be in the movie. I was happy for you too. It felt very well deserved for you. I’m so happy to hear it gave you a chance to experience a childhood dream. Congratulations!

So glad, Scott put the line "It's just a theory" In the script! This just shows how much love Matpat and Scott share with each other over the nearly 9 years of the Fnaf franchise.

mark being the first security guard is such bittersweet information. like that is the perfect role for him to have had in the movie, but we won't be able to see what it would have been like to actually see mark in that role. but at least the film WANTED him to be a part of it

I went with my brothers the first showing in my theater believe it or not. And although I was hushing them the whole time, when Matt showed up on scream, me and the entire Theater busted out with a bunch of screams laughter and repeating what he said. Best moment of my life.
My favorite part about this is that somehow they got MatPat to be in a (1) Movie adaptation of a (2) Video Game in a scene about (3) food. They covered all his bases. Absolutely marvelous!!!

When I was watching the movie in theatres and you appeared on screen, everyone was screaming in joy. INCLUDING ME!! Your acting was the BEST. I cried when I heard your famous line. I'm so glad you were in the movie! For such a short scene, it made the overall experience SO much better. Love you MatPat!!!!!!!
The fact that Scott wanted Matpat to actually go "But hey. THATS JUST A THEORY!" like he does in episodes is actually amazing. Wish they did a blooper reel where we saw that original over the top line.
So not only was Mark supposed to be the First Security Guard, but behind the scenes Mat was consulted by many of the people on set for FNAF knowledge? That’s pretty sweet because Mat is legit the reason FNAF has a lore/story

Matpat had to make Five Night at Freddy’s theories for almost ten years to play his character, Ness. What a legend.
Literally everyone in the movie theater were shocked an scream when we heard your voice and saw you. Many of the audience were adults in they 30s. Watching you theorize for almost a decade has been a amazing journey.
I watched this at a private screening last night. Just me and two of my friends. We still couldn’t hear a word he said because we were so over the moon he was in the movie

The entire audience started cheering when MatPat showed up on screen last night, so it's safe to say that the film was DEFINITELY made for the fans. Legitimately made with love. (The dream theory book also caused me to gasp and I started talking to the people next to me like an idiot hahaha) It was also fairly scary, so I was so happy as an original fan!
When I saw that book and heard Mike's lines about it, my heart was just skipping a beat. It didn't feel real XD

I was disappointed at first that Mark wasn't the security guard in the beginning, but now I'm excited because it means he has the opportunity to be a more important, longer lasting character in future fnaf movies
Regardless of how little lines you had, Your role made literally everyone so excited and Ecstatic- I know I was, especially when you said the iconic “It’s just a theory”, I was so excited throughout the whole thing and It’s so crazy to know that there’s finally a movie about a game franchise you love and the lore holder for it is in that exact movie
I really love the respect Scott and Matt agreed upon to not discuss lore and to just have a good time filming.
The best part of all of this. Weirdly enough this just feels like a human victory. After year and years of working towards this event both individuals decided to put aside what got them there to truly enjoy it. Idk but I thought it was so awesome and I’m so glad that they met and kept it real.

Something I just realized....
This cameo covers all four channels.
Since it's a major Hollywood production, he was dressed and made up by professionals. *(Style Theory)*
In the Scene he presents a brief *Food Theory*.
Obviously, this is a *Film (Theory)*.
It's a film based on the topic he's covered most extensively on *Game Theory*.
If they make a sequel, Mat should have a cameo as some conspiracy theorist. depending on the time the movie would take place, there could be a podcast run by him that's literally just mat making conspiracy theories about Freddy Fazzbears Pizzaria, everyone would think he's crazy while every theory is 100% correct, but because every one thinks he's crazy the theory's just make the company look better.
maybe it could be similar to the guy in the books who was paid to make bad games to make the company look better, but done a bit different, kind of like how the games, books, and movie are all canon but not the same. considering Mat's role in figuring out and spreading the lore so everyone in the community is on the same page, a small role perfect for a cameo but still important to the lore like that one would be perfect for him.

The thing is, Mark being the first security guard that dies in the movie kinda makes sense. The guard gets captured by Foxy or something, and Marks first jump scare WAS Foxy, when he first died in Fnaf 1. It all makes sense, It's a shame Mark couldn't be that security guard.

If Mark’s in a future movie installment of FNAF, instead of “Guard who dies first” maybe his character could be some kind of investigative reporter who explores an Abandoned Restaurant. As a reference to his character “Jim”

I love how everyone on set asked Mat himself about their characters rather than ask the Director or Scott. So in a way, Mat helped slightly with this project one way or another.
Mat has to literally be the most knowledgeable person on the series on that set, besides the creator himself. Shame they didn’t get the Trifecta with Markiplier..!

As bummed as I was that Markiplier wasn't in the movie, Matpat and Living Tombstones cameos honestly made my night. Plus considering how amazingly well this movie has overperformed in the box office, there's definitely going to be a locked in trilogy that allows more leeway for more special internet cameos.
Honestly TLT coming on in the credits just made me euphoric. Reminded me of when I was 14 like ten years ago

I loved having creators involved in the movie. Unfortunately I only watched Markiplier, you, and Wendigoon, so I didn't recognize the cab driver, but now there is so much I need to watch! I knew about Vanessa from SB but I know only the name. Loved seeing you in it though!
I saw the movie 4 times at theater. Absolutely loved it! Matt Pat was one of the best parts of the movie. The whole movie just seemed so surreal and had a very cool dream like feel to it.
The amount of cheering, yelling and uproar that I heard and participated in when MatPat appeared on the screen in the absolutely crammed theatre was incredible. It truly felt like a shared moment for the community. Everyone was in complete shock. MatPat kept his secret hidden well, and I think the community wouldn't have had it any other way because of how amazing of a reveal it was to see Matthew's appearance live in the moment

Not for everybody, a wet dream for fans. When MatPat came on screen, everyone in the theater cheered louder than in No Way Home with Tobey Maguire. One of my favorite movie theater experiences ever. 😂

Seeing MatPat playing a character named Ness working in Sparky's Diner was genuinely the hardest laugh I got in the entire film (and that's saying a lot; there were some other excellent fandom in-jokes in there). Massive props to you for landing the part, and to the filmmakers for keeping it quiet!

I remember that when Matpat appeared on screen y got so excited that i started to cry because i was CONVINCED that he wasn't going to appear, but then he appeared and when he said "it's just a theory" I was so excited that shouted "HE SAID THE THING" while bursting in tears-

In my cinema everybody started cheering loudly when MatPat made an appearance in the movie I was very happy aswell that MatPat got to finally appear in the movie.Congratulation Matpat on appearing on this phenomenal masterpiece!

Male Waiter was a one of a kind character. Everything about him was daring and amazing. Male Waiter carried the movie on his back, he was a true cinematic masterpiece that MUST make a reoccurrence in a sequel. All praise Male Waiter 🙌

when i watched the movie my whole friend group didn’t realise at first but we all knew your voice seemed familiar and then when u were shown again and we all screamed 😭😭 and then everyone in the theater was screaming “he said the thing!”

Whenever I saw the book about "Dream Theory" I instantly thought "Matpat is going to have fun with this" and seeing him just a few minutes later made me and my friend absolutely happy. You did fantastic in this movie so congrats!

I really hoped the movie was gonna be revolves around Matpat working in the pizzeria. Would have been dope. Imagine it opens up with him being hired for the job, he internally thinks to himself that he heard rumors that the place was haunted but he shrugs it off saying “but hey, that’s just a theory”. he gets the job and all goes bad within the first night, something’s clicks in his brain from an alternative universe (Matpat and the game theorist videos) that tell him that this place holds endless theories and secrets that Matpat must solve in his current universe in order to survive. Sometimes he runs into animatronics and starts chatting to them about theories he’s made and remembered from his alternative universe’s self, and gets attacked midway through saying them. Not going to go all in to detail but then at the end he thinks he clears the night and celebrates. “Nice! I made it through the night I get to live!!!” then all the animatronics show up in front of him and he quietly and horrifyingly mumbles “that’s… just a theory…. A G-“ then gets devoured by the animatronics. would’ve been a cool idea
ik its been months but I went when it came out. When they saw MatPat they freaking erupted in yelling i just- it was surreal to see it in theatres, and like every in the theatre was friends for some reason literally like i was talking to complete strangers like
"You look kinda like Freddy."

The fact that the first scene of the movie was for MatPat feels like a special gift for him and the FNAF fans for the long year run. Let’s hope if there is a sequel they might do the same thing with Markiplier hopefully. Glad everyone cheered and were excited to see you MatPat you definitely deserve this accomplishment.

My entire theater, me included, actually screamed when you appeared onscreen. We almost didn't hear you say "That's just a theory," but of course everyone did. I lost track of the plot for a few minutes after that because I was freaking out so much lol. Best film experience of my life, in part because of you, Mat!

For real, my entire theater was just laughing and reacting to the same things and clapping at the end of the movie. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
It sounds so refreshing to hear a production company is actually eager to learn the stuff that they're meant to create. I love projects just seething with passion.
Ikr, it's amazing and when I watched the movie, I felt like yeap, everyone was doing well and it was meant for lore and community, not as a quick buck. It's great.

I had midterms when this movie came out, so I was barely able to watch it’s this week. The movie is already two weeks old and the screening room was empty aside from me and my friends. And honestly, growing up watching you and your theories, it made me so happy when you said your line.
I knew it I had to look it up to confirm. You contributed to the popularity of FNAF so much. I remember being like 14 watching all the theories. I’m 21 now and play less and less games but man you were a big part of my childhood growing up Mat pat!
This cameo was more than deserved. After putting nearly 100 episodes into fnaf over these 9 years, you had to have some part in this film lol. Congratulations man
